consult manufacturer for advice. Screws may be used on installations where the roof construction is
suitable and robust, and protection against water ingress can be achieved.
The ABS Panel Mount Kit 2 PCS-ABSSET is a longer ABS profile (680MM long and is compatible
with all SolarGo2 rigid solar panels).
The method of installation is the same as described for SolarGo2 ABS Panel Mount Kit 7PCS ABSSET.
Align the profile carefully to the 680mm dimension of the solar panel, ideally the profile should face
the direction of travel but don’t worry too much if that can’t be achieved on your install.
When all brackets are secure, place the solar panel on the roof, position where it is to be fixed, and
draw a pencil line around the footprint of the ABS brackets.
Bonding the Brackets
We recommend that all areas to be bonded should be scored with an abrasive material. This will
increase the surface area and improve the strength of the bond. This can be achieved by using
something like an abrasive Scotch pad
(Make sure all components and surfaces to be bonded are clean, dry, and free from all traces of
grease, oil, and dust)
Apply a 5-6mm bead of the bonding agent to each foot of the ABS profile, face the solar panel so
that the solar cells are facing upwards and place the solar panel on to the roof, positioning the
brackets in the pencil lines previously marked.
Alternately, the bonding agent can be applied to the roof material and the solar panel placed on the
bonding agent.
Bed the panel down firmly but do not press down so much that all the bonding agent is expelled,
leave 2mm of bonding agent between surfaces for the best results.
Please also see instructions for bonding agent.
NOTE – bonding agent requires 24 hours to properly cure. We would therefore seriously recommend
that the vehicle is not moved for this period!
Maintenance
We recommend that the brackets are checked every 6 months to ensure that they are still bonded
securely to the vehicle.
