With
the
SVI-811
Game
Adapter
installed,
your
5VI-838
X’press

Home
Computer
can
run
most
joystick-driven
MSX-1
game
cartridges.
The
adapter
can
support
up
to
2
MSX
Joysticks
and
draws
power
from
the
computer.
NOTE
This
game
adapter
is
compatible
only
with
joystick-driven
MSX-1
game
cartridges
which
do
not
require
any
data
entry
from
the
keyboard.
The
game
adapter
is
made
up
of
2
parts:
an
expansion
card
and
a
cartridge
holder.
To
install
the
game
adapter,
1.
Switch
off
the
computer
and
all
peripherals.
2.
Remove
the
cover
from
the
console
of
the
computer.
Refer
to
the
user’s
manual
of
your
X’press
16
for
details.
3.
Twist
off
the
cut-out
cover
of
the
computer.
4.
Insert
the
expansion
card
of
the
game
adapter
into
the
expansion
slot.
Then
fasten
the
card
with
the
support.

Replace
the
console
cover
and
fasten
all
the
screws
except
the
one
at
the
right-most
corner
near
the
back
of
the
computer.
6.
Connect
the
cartridge
holder
to
the
edge
connector
of
the
expansion
card
through
the
cut-out
cover.
7.
Fasten
the
screw
on
the
adapter
to
tie
the
cartridge
holder
and
expansion
card
together.

C
onnect
your
MSX
joysticks
to
the
ports
on
the
cartridge
holder.
To
insert
an
MSX
game
cartridge,
1.
Switch
off
the
system.
2.
Plug
the
game
cartridge
into
the
slot
on
the
cartridge
holder
until
it
is
fully
seated.
3.
Turn
the
GAME/COMPUTER
switch
to
GAME.
It
signals
the
computer
not
to
read
the
disk
in
the
disk
drive
upon
boot
up.
It
will
load
the
program
in
the
cartridge
instead.
4.
Switch
on
the
system.
If
you
wish
to
switch
back
to
MS-DOS,
simply
turn
the
switch
to
COMPUTER
and
reset
the
system.
You
need
not
disconnect
the
expansion
card
and
cartridge
holder
from
the
system.
