UNPACKING THE APPLIANCE
Carefully examine the carton for damage before unpacking. If it is obviously
damaged, consult the supplier over whether to proceed.
Make sure the carton is stood upright and open the top. Remove the
cardboard, and place to one side; this can be used as a floor protector when
assembling the fire.
Remove the fire and examine its general condition, paying particular attention
to the fascia, and the stainless steel inglenook.
If satisfied by the general condition, place the decorative components to one
side and proceed with the installation. If in any doubt, seek advice from the
supplier. Read the instructions fully before proceeding.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
•The installation must also be in accordance with the relevant parts of local
and national building regulations.
•Soft furnishings, decorations and wall coverings etc. must not be placed
within 1.5 metres of the appliance and its outlets.
•Be aware of curtains etc. that could be blown towards the appliance.
•The fire is intended as a secondary heat source and should not be
used as a primary heat source. Check that a primary heat source
(such as radiators) is present in the room. If insufficient primary heat is
being used there may be a build up of condensation.
•The fire must not be used in rooms where the atmosphere is likely to
contain water or chemical vapours that may adversely affect the
appliance or its finish.
•Do not use while painting or decorating, or in newly decorated rooms as
the residue can lead to unpleasant smells from the appliance. Always
cover or have the appliance removed while decorating.
•This appliance does not contain Asbestos.
•The fire is designed to be wall mounted and must not be recessed into a
fireplace opening.
•The appliance has been designed to be installed onto a wall. It must be
placed on a non-combustible surface of minimum 12mm thickness. The
surface on which the appliance is to be mounted must be flat, level and
square to the back panel. Care should be taken with all wall coverings as
it may discolour them in time.
•The fascia supplied with the appliance must be used.
•The fire must be used in a room with adequate ventilation. It may be
required to open a window when using the appliance.

CLEARANCE TO COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS AND SHELVES
A non-combustible shelf may be fitted to within 150mm of the top edge of the
outlet of the fire. Note that shelves will get hot and delicate ornaments; e.g.
wax candles etc. should be kept away from hot surfaces.
As with all flueless fires the possibility of convection staining on surfaces in the
vicinity above the fire outlet shall be considered and the user advised.
Particular attention should be taken to ensure soft furnishings such as scatter
cushions, rugs and curtains are kept at least 1.5 metres from the appliance.
Material of any description should not be thrown on to the fuel bed.
PREPARING THE APPLIANCE
Unpack the unit. Take the fascia panel and stand this against a flat surface –
Do not lay the fascia flat.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THE APPLIANCE IF ANY PART OF THE
APPLIANCE IS FOUND TO BE DAMAGED.
FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
•To get the desired height measure from the floor to the top of the gather.
Place the top of the wall bracket central and 65mm lower than the
gathers height, and mark out the holes. (NOTE – There must be at least
300mm clearance between the floor to the fire opening and 1000mm
from the top of the gather to the ceiling. See Clearances.
•Drill and plug holes and attach the fixing bracket to the wall.
•Hang the Enclosure on the wall. In the burner housing section, locate
the two screw holes to the right and left and using two cross-headed
screws secure the burner unit to the wall.
•Fit and lock the fascia into place by locating two cross-headed screws
through both the fascia and the enclosure situated on each side of the
unit.
•Once the fire has been fitted and is functioning properly the end user
shall be given these instructions by the installer and advised on the safe
use and maintenance of the fire.

USER INSTRUCTIONS
•The fireplace must only be used with approved bio-ethanol or gel fuel.
Different types and brands of fuel may have different effects on the
burner and some may produce smells when lit. The correct fuel must be
ethanol based which is generally smoke free.
•The fuel must be poured into the trough provided using a funnel. The fuel
must be filled to within 1 cm of the top of the burner. DO NOT OVERFILL.
Ensure any spillages are wiped clean with a damp cloth and removed
before lighting.
•To light:
oSimply touch the surface of the fuel with a naked flame. We advise
using a long lighter but matches can also be used. Ensure any used
matches are disposed of and not left in the gel as this will cause
smoke. After about a few minutes the flame will be at its full height
and will burn consistently.
•To extinguish:
oWe advise running the fire till it self extinguishes however if the fire
is to be shut off earlier;
oGently replace the special handle provided with the fire avoiding the
flames etc.
oUsing the handle gently slide the lid over the opening to shut off the
oxygen to the burner. This will extinguish the flame.
oIt may require a number of attempts to shut off the flame.
•Allow some time for the fuel reservoir to cool before re-filling. Do not re-
fill the tray when lit.
•The fuel reservoir should never be moved when lit or hot
•Adequate precautions need to be made to ensure that the flames & heat
generated cannot cause damage to the surrounding location.
•Adequate ventilation should be available within the room to disperse any
fumes and heat generated by the fire.
•In locations where Children or Elderly people are present it is advisable to
fit a dress guard or fire guard as this is an open fronted and open flamed
appliance.
•Fuel can be purchased from the website www.easyfire.co.uk
•The fire must be used in a room with adequate ventilation. It may be
required to open a window when using the appliance.

•Special Notes if using “GEL” fuel [similar in look to syrup]
oIf using gel fuel it is advisable to extinguish the flame before the
fuel burns out as the residual gel in the bottom of the tray can
produce an unpleasant odour.
oIf left unused for more than 24 hours wash out the tray before re-
using to prevent the build up of residue.
Warning for Fire Guards and Hearths
The appliance is not installed with an integral guard. In normal use
consideration may be given to the use of a fireguard conforming to
BS6539 or BS6778, so that the approach to the appliance is limited such
that access to the flame is minimised. It is recommended that a fireguard
conforming to the requirements of BS6539 or BS6778 be installed if the
appliance is used in the presence of young children, the elderly or the
infirm.
For some countries a non-combustible hearth must be installed in front of the
appliance in accordance with national regulations.

the field. This is due to every fire being fully inspected and hand packed before
delivery.
The warranty provided with the fire does not cover:
1. Damage caused by incorrect installation.
2. Damage resulting from incorrect use.
3. Consequential Damage.
4. Wear and Tear
Before making a Warranty Claim please ensure you have all the relevant details
available for your fire so we can deal with your claim quickly and effectively.
