Lithium batteries can be dangerous. Danger of explosion if
battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type
recommended by the manufacturer. Dispose of used batteries according to the
manufacturer’s instructions.
Under no circumstances should the user attempt to
disassemble the power supply. The power supply has no user-replaceable parts. Inside
the power supply are hazardous voltages that can cause serious personal injury. A

Safety Notices for the Power Cord
This equipment has a 3-wire power cord. Replace the power cord if it becomes damaged.
Contact your dealer for an exact replacement.
In the U.S.A. and Canada, the power cord must be a UL-listed detachable power cord (in
Canada, CSA-certified).
3-wire cord 18 AWG, 3-conductor
Provided with a molded-on cord connector body at the other end. The cord length must not
exceed 3 meters.
Outside the U.S.A. and Canada, the plug must be rated for 250 VAC, 2.5 amp minimum, and
must display an international agency approval marking. The cord must be suitable for use in
the end-user’s country. Consult your dealer or the local electrical authorities if you are
unsure of the type of power cord to use in your country. Voltage changes occur
automatically in the power supply.
Safety Notices for the TV Tuner

Before connecting the cable into the connector, be sure to remove first the cover on the
cable TV connector at the rear of the computer with the aid of a screw driver.

If you have included a TV Tuner in your purchase option and be sure to follow the
procedures as indicated below:
¾Make sure that your CATV system installer has the Coaxial cable shield connected to the
grounding system of the building, as close to the point of cable entry as practical.
¾This reminder is provided to meet the CATV system installer’s attention toArticle 820-93
of the NEC (Section 54, Part I of the Canadian Electrical Code).
¾The TV antenna supplied with any TV Tuner module is intended for indoor use only.
Please do not use your TV Tuner module outdoors.

The drive is certified in the USA to comply with the requirements of the Department of
Health and Human Services 21 Code of Federal Regulations (DHHS 21 CFR) Subchapter J.
for Class 1 laser products.
In other countries the drive is certified to comply with the requirements of EN60825.
Do not open the drive. There are no user-serviceable parts
or components inside. Use of controls, adjustments and operation of procedures other
than those specified, may result in hazardous exposure to radiation. Class I (1) laser
products are not considered hazardous. The drive has an internal, Class I (1), 0.5-
milliwatt, aluminum gallium-arsenide laser that operates at a wavelength of 760 to 810
nanometers. The design of the laser system and the drive ensures that there is no
exposure to laser radiation above a Class I (1) level during normal operation, user
maintenance or servicing.

1. Digital Microphone
Use this microphone when you are on video conferencing.
2. CCD Camera
Use the camera when you are on video conferencing.
3. LCD Display
Your Notebook computer is equipped with a replaceable color Liquid Crystal
Display (LCD) screen that supports up to 1280*800
4. Internet Quick Key
Under Windows, this is the Internet Quick Key to allow you to launch the Internet
Explore.
5. Power Button
The power button turns the notebook on and off. Press momentarily to turn on the
system. Press and hold for at least 3~4 seconds to turn off the system.
6. Keyboard
The keyboard is used to enter data. It has an embedded numeric keypad and
cursor control keys.
7. Wireless and Bluetooth off Key
Press this key to turn off the wireless and Bluetooth application. When the
wireless LED indicator appears in blue color, it signifies the application is enabled.
When the Bluetooth LED indicator appears in green color, it signifies the
application is enabled.
8. LED Status Indicator
The LED Status Indicator displays the operating status of your notebook. When a
certain function is enabled, an LED will light up. The following section describes

9. TouchPad
The dual-button TouchPad is located below the keyboard. The TouchPad is
hardware-compatible with the IBM PS/2 mouse and software-compatible with the
Microsoft mouse.
10. TouchPad Buttons
The buttons below the TouchPad correspond to the left and right buttons on a
standard mouse.
Front View
1. LED Status Indicator
The LED Status Indicator displays the operating status of your notebook. When a
certain function is enabled, an LED will light up. The following section describes
its indication.
2. Stereo Headphone
The stereo headphone jack (3.5-mm diameter) is where you connect the
headphones or external speakers.
3. Microphone Jack
The microphone jack (3.5-mm diameter) is where you connect a microphone.

4. IEEE 1394 Port
A fast external bus standard that supports data transfer rates of up to 400 Mbps
(400 million bits per second). Can be used to connect up 63 external devices, also
supports isochronous data -- delivering data at a guaranteed rate.
This makes it ideal for devices that need to transfer high levels of data in real-time,
such as video devices. Also supports both Plug-and-Play and hot plugging, and
also provides power to peripheral devices.
5. Card Reader
The slot is where PC Card is inserted. The system also supports MMC, MMC plus,
SD, 3-1 card reader.
6. The Volume Down Button
Press this button to decrease the volume of the played track.
7. The Volume Up Button
Press this button to increase the volume of the played track.
8. The Mute Button
Press the mute of the played track.
9. The Play/Pause Button
Press this button to start the next track.

1. Kensington Lock Keyhole
Your computer includes a keyhole to be used with a standard Kensington lock.
You can connect the Notebook lock to a large object with the Kensington lock to
prevent theft of your Notebook.
2. Ethernet / LAN Port
The port connects to a network hub via the RJ-45 cable and also conforms to
10/100/1000Base-TX transmission protocol.
3. Ventilation Grill
The fan grill is where air is exchanged to dissipate the internal heat. Do not block
this airway completely.
4. USB 2.0 Port (X2)
The Universal Serial Bus (USB2.0-compliant) port allows you to connect a wide
variety of devices to your computer at a rate of up to 480 Mbps. This port
conforms to the latest USB2.0 plug-and-play standards.

5. Hard Disk Drive Bay
This is where the hard disk drive is located. The hard disk drive stores all the
system data. The hard disk drive can be upgraded to a larger capacity.
6. Express card Slot (New Card)
This compartment contains the express card reader.
Right View
1. DC IN Connector
Plug the AC adapter into this connector.
2. External VGA Port
The 15-pin VGA analog port is for connecting the external CRT monitor or
projector.
3. USB 2.0 Port
The Universal Serial Bus (USB2.0-compliant) port allows you to connect a wide
variety of devices to your computer at a rate of up to 480 Mbps.

This port conforms to the latest USB2.0 plug-and-play standards.
4. TV Input antenna
TV antenna port allows you to connect external TV antenna to have better TV
signal reception.
5. Optical Drive
If your computer comes with the CD-RW/DVD Combo/DVD Dual, you may save
data onto a CD-R / CD-RW or DVD RW disc.

1. Battery Lock
Slide this latch to open or close the lock.
2. Battery Pack
The battery pack is a built-in power source for the notebook.
3. Expansion Compartment
This compartment will serve as an expansion to upgrade your RAM module.
4. Battery Latch
Slide the battery latch to release the battery pack.
5. Mini PCIE card slot
This slot can be loaded with MiniPCIE Intel turbo memory.
System Status Indicator

LED Graphic Symbol Indication
Indicates the power status.
Indicates the hard drive is being accessed.
Indicates the battery status.
Indicates the TV card is loaded/unloaded.
Indicats the WLAN is activated.
Indicates the bluetooth is activated.
Indicates the Num-lock is activated.
Indicates the Caps-lock is activated.
Hot Keys Combination
The hot keys are imprinted in light blue color. Press the Fn (function) key with the
corresponding function keys from F1/F2/F3/F4/F5/F6/F9/F10/F11/F12/arrow up/arrow
down/left arrow/right arrow/End to execute different application for various operation.

¾Suspend mode – Press the Fn + F1 combination keys to enter the suspend mode.
