1) Closed Caption Characters can be displayed on the TV screen only when the received broad-
cast signal contains Caption Signals.
2) Paint-on mode: Displays input characters on the screen immediately.
Pop-on mode: Once characters are stored in lnemory, they are displayed all at once.
Roll-up mode: Displays the characters continuously by scrolling (lnax. 4 lines)
Note: If CAPTION CI or C2 is selected but a Closed Caption signal is not included, characters

5. CHANNEL (CH) A/Y buttons- Press to
select memorized channel.

6. POWER (PWR) button- Press to turn the
TV ON and OFE
7. lnfl'ared Sensor Window- Receives the

8. CHANNEL NUMBER buttons- Press two
digits to directly access the desired channel.
Relnember to press a "0" before a single
digit channel.
+100 button- Press to select cable channels
higher than 99.
9. MUTE button- Press the MUTE button to
turn off the sound portion of tile TV pro-
grain. (Volume level display turns LIGHT
RED from LIGHT BLUE.) Press the
MUTE button again or press the VOL(ulne)
A or '_' button to restore sound.
10.INPUT SELECT button- Press to select
TV or the external input (VIDEOI or
VIDEO2).

11.CHANNEL RETURN button- Press this
button to go back to the previously viewed
channel. For example, pressing the CHAN-
NEL RETURN buttou once will change
channel display h'om CH 3 (present chan-
nel) to CH 10 (previously viewed charmel),
and pressing it a second time will return
h'om CH 10 to CH 3.
12.DISPLAY button- Press to display the
channel number on the screen. If you press
it again, the channel number will disappear.
13.SLEEP button- Press the SLEEP button to
display the sleep tilner and start the tm_c-
tion. The slmt off tilne can be determined
by the number of times you press the but-
ton. (0, 10, 20, 30,..9(}, 0 lnirmtes)
14.GAME button- Press to set the Galne
lnode. To exit, press the INPUT SELECT
button.

15.AUDIO L/R OUT jacks- Connect to the
lett/right channel audio input,jacks of a
home stereo system.
16.S-VIDEO input jack- Cormect to the S-
VIDEO output ,jack of a video calnera,
VCR, or video game systeln using the S-
VIDEO cable (not supplied).
Note: The S-VIDEO,jack on the lear panel
is given priority over the VIDEO (Rear)

17.ANT(enna). IN jaek- Connect to an anten-
na, cable system, or satellite system.
18.AC cord- Connect to a standard AC outlet
(120V/60Hz).
Note: Unwrap the AC cord colnpletely
from the backcover before plugging the
cord into an AC outlet.

1) Slide the battel T compartlnent cover back
on the remote Ulfit.
2) Insert 2 "AA" i_enlight batteries into battery
colnpartment in the direction as indicated
by the polarity (+ /-) lnarkings. Batteries
installed with incorrect polarity lnay dam-
age the relnote unit.
3) Replace the cover.

When you use the AUDIO/VIDEO input jacks,
select "VIDEO I" or "VIDEO2" mode by
pressing the INPUT SELECT button on the
remote coutrol.
• To use the jacks on the back of the TV. select
"VIDEO1".
• To use the jacks on the twnt of the TV, select
"VIDEO2".
Notes:
•You may also set the Game mode and exter-
nal input mode at the same time by pressing
the GAME button on tbe remote control.
"GAME" appears on the TV screen and the
TV input swithes to the frout A/V input.

• When you use the S-VIDEO connectiou,
S-VIDEO jack on the rear panel is given pri-

If the power fails or is disconuected while the TV is powered on, tile TV will turrl on autonratical-
ly when tile power resulnes.
OPERATIONS
1) Press the POWER button to turu on tire TV.
2) Select the desired chanuel with the CH(annel) at or V button.
3) Adjust tile volume to the desired listenirlg level usirlg the VOL(unle) at or '_' button.
4) Adjust picture corltrols for a rlatural looking image. (See "PICTURE ADJUSTMENT".)
The sleep timer fuuction allows you to have the POWER autolnatically turn
off after a set time period.
1) Press the POWER button to turlr on the TV arid press the SLEEP button
on the remote corltlOl .
2) You lnay change the sleep time by pl*essing the SLEEP SLEEP10
buttou ou the renlote control repeatedly. The timel carl be

case, "PROTECTED PROGRAM by ..." message appears on the TV screen.
To block certairr ratings, follow the steps below.

To change access code, follow steps.

2) Press tile number buttons to enter your old access code. If you have never
set up your personal access code, use 0000.
3)Press the CH(annel) A or V button to select CHANGE CODE. Then,
press the VOL(ume) A button to coutinue.
4) Use the number buttons to enter your desired access code in the NEW
CODE space. Then, erlter the same code in tile CONFIRM CODE space.
Your uew access code is set. You will return to the "V-CHlP SET UP".
If the code iu tile CONFIRM CODE space does not match the code in the
NEW CODE space, repeat step 4, makiug sure you erltex the same new
code exactly in the CONFIRM CODE space.
Notes:
. If a power failure occurs, the delimit code, 00(10 will be the access code.
. If you connect tile power cord to au AC outlet that is controlled by a wall
switch, your persoual access code will be erased every time you turn off"the
power at rile wall switch. The detault code will returu to 00(10.
[IF YOU FORGET YOUR ACCESS CODE]
You should restore the access code to 0000 as your access code, unphlg the
TV's power cord for l0 seconds, then plug it iu again.

Artfculo 820-40 de la NEC que provee directiw_s gufa para realizar una conexi6n adecuada a tierm
y, en particular, especifica que el cable de puesta a tierra debe ser conectado al sistema de terminal a
tierra del edificio lo mils cercano al punto de entrada del cable come sea posible.
SUBTITULOS NARRATIVES
Este aparato de TV puede recibir los C1 y C2 de Subtftulos y Texto.
1) El caracteres puede verse en la pantalla de la TV cuando la serial de la translnisidn recibida
contiene las Seriales de Subtftulos.
2) Mode Paint-ore Muestra inmediatalnente en la pantalla el caracteres de entrada.
Mode Pop-on: Una vez que el caracteres ha side ahnacenado en la melnoria, aparece lode de
repente.
Mode Roll-up: Muestra el caracteres en %rma continuada come si fuera enrollado (max. 4
lfaeas)
Nora: Si se selecciona TITULO C1 o C2 peru no se incluye la serial de subtftulos, los caracteres
uo aparecer4n.
1) Muestra el texto en la pautalla per enrollado (infix. 7 lfneas).
2) Si la serial de translnisidn recibida no contiene la serial y el texto de subtftulos, no ocurrirfi
uiugdu cambio.
Notas:
. Cualldo su TV recibe una serial de reproducci6n de eiectos especiales (per ej , Search, Lento,
Fijo) desde ua CANAL (CH3 o CH4) de salida de video de una videograbadora, su TV quiz4s
no indique el texto o subtftulo correcto.
* Es posible que los textos y subtftulos no correspondan exactamente con la voz de la TV.
* Si hay iuterferencia, puede ocasional que el Sistema de Subtftulos Narratives no fuucione
adecuadameute.
* Los caracteres del texto o subtftulo no se mostrar4u lnientras se est4 lnostrando la pautalla del
inert1 o de tin,clones.
* Si usted ve esta pantalla:
Si st] televisor lnuestra Ullcuadrado negro en la pantalla, esto significa clue su TV ha side fijado
en el mode TEXT. Para borral la pantalla, seleccione TITULO CI, C2 o TITULO [OFF].
