InstallOrigoonarigidandstableplatform.Avibrationfreeplatformwillhelpextractingits
optimalsonicperformance.MakesurethemainpowerswitchisintheOFFposition(O)before
connectingthepowercable.

AlwaysuseanACpowercordwithgroundwire.TheOrigomustbeearthed,bothforsafety
andsonicreason.Togetthebestsoundquality,makesurethatallyourHi‐Fiequipmentsare
connectedintoonemainssocket.

Connecttheplayer'saudiooutputtoyouramplifier'sinput,usinghighqualityaudiocables.
TheOrigo'saudiocircuitisfullybalancedrightfromtheDACcore,thereforebalancedXLR
cableispreferredforthebestsoundquality.Thebalancedaudiooutputsarewiredaspin1
Ground,pin2hotandpin3cold(ComplytotheAES48‐2005standard).TheBalancedoutput
andsingleendedoutputaredrivenbyindependentamplifiercircuitsandtheycanbeused
simultaneously.

USB audio setup
TheOrigoisequippedwithhighspeedasynchronizedUSBaudiostreaminginterface,whichis
capabletoacceptupto24bit‐192KHzaudiodatawithextremelylowjitter.

Windows environment
AproprietarydriverisrequiredtobeinstalledtoenablethehighspeedasynchronizedUSB
interface.Thedrivercanbedownloadedfromthefollowingwebsite:http://synaestec‐
audio.de/en_Origo.html.
FollowthedriverinstallationinstructiontoinstalltheSynaestecUSBaudio2.0driverpriorto
connectingtheOrigotoyourWindowscomputer.Afterfinishingthedriverinstallation,
connecttheOrigotoyourcomputer.SelectSynaestecUSBaudio2.0asthedefaultplayback
devicethroughyourmusicplayersoftware.

Mac OS environment
Thereisnoneedtoinstallanydrivers.TheOrigo'sUSBstreaminginterfaceisplugandplay
underMacOSenvironment.SimplyconnecttheUSBinterfaceandthenselectSynaestecUSB
Audio2.0intheSoundmenu.



Therearemanydifferentmusicplayersoftwareavailable.Werecommenddisablingallsound
effectsinthemusicplayersoftware,suchassamplerateconversion(up‐sampling),equalizer,
volumecontrol,virtualsurroundsound,channelmixing,echoes,etc.Itisthebesttooutput
rawPCMaudiototheOrigowithoutanyalteration,whichisalsocalledbitperfect.

Operation
TurnonthemainpowerswitchontherearpaneloftheOrigo.
Afterturningonthemainpowerswitch,theplayLEDontheplayer'sfrontpanelwillglowdim
red,indicatingitisinreadymode.NowyoucanpressthePowerbuttonontheremotecontrol
unitorpressandholdthePLAY/PAUSEknobonthefrontpaneltoturntheplayeron
completely.





Afterturningontheplayer,youcanopenthedisctrayandinsertyourCDorSACDusingthe
STOP/EJECTbutton.Whenyouhavefinishedlistening,pressthePowerbuttonontheremote
controlorpressandholdthePLAY/PAUSEknobonthefrontpaneltoturntheOrigobackinto
readymode.IfyouplantoleavetheOrigounusedforalongperiodoftime,usethemain
powerswitchontherearpaneltoswitchitoffcompletely.

ThereisanOven‐Controlled‐Crystal‐Oscillator(OCXO)insidetheOrigotogeneratethe
perfectlyaccurateaudioreferenceclock.ThisOCXOneeds5minutestowarmupintheinitial
powerup.Thereisawarmupsignonthedisplayscreen,anditwilldisappearwhentheOCXO
warmupiscompleted.Theplayershallfunctionnormallywithinthis5minutestime,andwill
reachitsoptimalperformancelevelaftercompletingthewarmupperiod.


Play Mode

Program
Createcustomplaylistbypickingtracksfromthelist,selectedtrackswillbeplayedinthe
assignedsequence.Itispossibletoselectupto30tracksintheprogram.Toexitprogram,
presstheStopbuttontwice.





Disc Repeat
Theplayerwillloopbacktoplaytracknumberoneun‐interruptedlyafterfinishedplayingthe
lasttrackonthedisc.


Track Repeat
Thesingleassignedtrackwillbeplayedrepeatedly.


Normal
Resumetothedefaultplaymode.Everytrackonthediscwillbeplayedsequentiallyaccording
tothetracknumberandthentheplayerwillstopafterfinishedplayingthelasttrack.
