MM Flex. Bitte lesen Sie diese Bedienungsanleitung
vollständig durch, bevor sie das Gerät in Betrieb
nehmen.
Der Thorens MM Flex ist ein hochwertiger MM-Phono-
Vorverstärker, der mithilfe eines Velcro™-Klettbands an
der Rückseite Ihres Plattenspielers angebracht werden
kann. Diese Installationsmethode erfordert keine
Modifikationen, die sich nicht rückgängig machen
ließen. Außerdem lässt sich der MM Flex dank Klettband
ohne Werkzeug entfernen und wieder anbringen.
Ihr Thorens-Händler oder -Vertriebspartner steht Ihnen

Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Rückseite Ihres
Plattenspielers sauber und trocken ist. Der MM Flex
sollte nicht in der Nähe des Motors oder sonstiger
Magnetfeldquellen angebracht werden. Ziehen Sie die
Schutzfolie des Velcro™-Klettbands an der Rückseite
des MM Flex ab; achten Sie darauf, dass Sie die
Klebefläche nicht berühren. Setzen Sie den MM Flex an
der gewünschten Stelle an und drücken Sie ihn 20–30
Sekunden lange gegen die Rückseite des
Plattenspielers.

Anschluss und Inbetriebnahme
Lesen Sie die nachstehenden Anweisungen und führen
Sie sie Schritt für Schritt durch.
1. Plattenspieler mit MM Flex verbinden
Verbinden Sie die Anschlusskabel Ihres Plattenspielers
mit den Eingängen des MM Flex: den rechten Kanal (rot)
mit dem rechten Eingang, den linken Kanal mit dem
linken Eingang (weiß). Wenn Ihr Tonarm über ein
Erdungskabel verfügt, so verbinden Sie dieses mit dem
entsprechenden Anschluss am MM Flex.
Ihr Verstärker sollte hierbei ausgeschaltet bzw.
stummgeschaltet sein. Das Netzteil des MM 002 sollte
noch nicht mit dem Gerät verbunden sein.
Verbinden Sie den MM Flex über ein hochwertiges
Cinchkabel mit einem Line-Eingang (Aux, Tape in, CD,
Tuner, etc.) an Ihrem Verstärker.
Stellen Sie sicher, dass der rechte Ausgang des MM Flex
mit dem rechten Eingang und der linke Ausgang des MM
Flex mit dem linken Eingang des Verstärkers verbunden
ist.
Schließen Sie den MM Flex nicht an einen ggf.
vorhandenen Phono-Eingang an; der Phono-Eingang
ist nur für den direkten Anschluss eines
Plattenspielers und nicht für Line-Level-Geräte wie
den MM Flex gedacht.

Stellen Sie sicher, dass der MM Flex ausgeschaltet ist
(Ein-/Ausschalter auf „OFF“); das Netzteil sollte zu
diesem Zeitpunkt noch nicht mit dem Netzstrom
verbunden sein.
Verbinden Sie das Netzteil mit dem entsprechenden
Anschluss („DC 24V“) an der Rückseite des MM Flex.

Netzsteckeraufsatz, verbinden Sie das Netzteil mit dem
Netzstrom und schalten Sie den MM Flex ein (Ein-
/Ausschalter auf „ON“).
Verwenden Sie ausschließlich das mitgelieferte
Thorens-Netzteil oder ein original Ersatznetzteil von
Thorens, da der MM Flex sonst besch digt werden
kann.

Dank seines geringen Stromverbrauchs können Sie
den MM Flex auch bei Nichtgebrauch eingeschaltet
lassen. Dennoch empfehlen wir, das Gerät
auszuschalten und das Netzteil vom Strom zu
trennen, wenn sie es über längere Zeit nicht nutzen.
Der MM Flex ist jetzt betriebsbereit. Sie können nun Ihren
Verstärker einschalten und Ihre analoge Lieblingsmusik
in neuer Qualität genießen!

MM Flex MM phono preamplifier. Please read this
manual carefully before operating your unit in order to
guarantee the best performance.

The Thorens MM Flex is a high performance moving
magnet phono preamplifier that can be fitted directly to
the rear of your turntable by means of the unique
Velcro™ strip. This allows it to be assembled to your
turntable without any irreversible modification. Also,
thanks to this system, the MM Flex can be removed
and re-fitted without the use of tools.

2. Connect the MM Flex to your amplifier -

Installation and Operation
Identify a space on your turntable where you wish to fit
the MM Flex and make sure it is dry and free from grease,
dirt, dust and fingerprints. This should not be close to the
motor or any other source of magnetic field. Peel off the
protective film on the Velcro™ strip on the rear of the MM
Flex, then, taking care not to touch the adhesive, fix the
entire unit to the turntable in the desired position and
apply pressure for 20-30 seconds.
Assembly
1. Connect your turntable to the MM Flex
Connection and Operation
Please read the following instructions carefully and carry
them out in the order shown.
Plug the leads from your turntable's cartridge to the input
sockets on the MM Flex; the Right channel (red) cable
into the Right input and the Left channel (white) into the
Left input. If your tonearm has a separate earth wire for
shielding purposes, please connect it to the earth
binding post on the MM Flex.
Your amplifier should be powered off or muted and
The MM Flex's power supply should not yet be
connected.
Connect good quality RCA interconnect cables from
the MM Flex to an auxiliary line-level input on your
amplifier (Aux, Tape in, CD, Tuner, etc,).
Please ensure that the right channel output is connected
to the right channel input on your amplifier, and the left
channel output is connected to the left channel input on
your amplifier.
If your amplifier is already equipped with a phono
stage, do not connect the output of the MM Flex to the
phono input: this is meant to be connected only to a
turntable's cartridge output, not to a line level output
such as that of the MM Flex.

Installation and Operation
3. Connect the power adaptor
Make sure the power switch is in the OFF (outwards)
position and the power adaptor is not connected to a
mains socket.
Connect the Thorens power supply plug to the power
socket on the rear panel.
After choosing and installing the correct snap-in mains
plug for your country, connect the power adaptor to a live
mains socket then press the power button on the rear
panel to the ON (inwards) position.
Always use the supplied mains power adaptor or an
original Thorens spare part!
If you prefer, the MM Flex can be left powered on
thanks to its tiny power consumption. If you plan to
leave it unused for a prolonged period of time, we
suggest disconnecting the power adaptor from the
mains socket.
Your MM Flex is now ready for use. Switch on or un-mute
your amplifier and enjoy your favourite music!

Notre produit Thorens MM Flex est un préamplificateur
haut de gamme phono MM qui est fixé à l'aide d'une
bande Velcro™ au panneau arrière de votre platine.
Cette fixation ne nécessite aucune modification
particulière irréversible. Grâce à cette bande Velcro™,
le MM Flex peut être enlevé et remis sans outillage.

Fixer la bande
Assurez-vous que le panneau arrière de votre platine est
propre et sec. Ne montez pas le MM Flex à proximité du
moteur ou d'autres sources de champ magnétique.
Enlevez le film de protection de la bande Velcro™ se
trouvant sur le panneau arrière du MM Flex. Veillez à ne
pas toucher la surface adhésive. Posez le MM Flex à
l'endroit voulu et appuyez-le pendant 20-30 secondes
contre le panneau arrière de la platine.
1. Connecter la platine au MM Flex
Connectez les fils de la cellule de votre platine aux
prises d'entrée du MM Flex : le câble du canal droit
(rouge) dans l'entrée droite et le câble du canal gauche
(blanc) dans l'entrée gauche. Si votre bras de lecture
possède un fil de mise à la terre séparé, veuillez le
raccorder à la borne de mise à la terre du MM Flex.
Votre amplificateur doit être mis hors tensione ou en
sourdine et la prise d'alimentation du MM Flex doit
être débranchée.
2. Connecter le MM Flex à l'amplificateur
Connectez le MM Flex à l'aide d'un câble
d'interconnexion RCA de bonne qualité à une entrée
niveau ligne sur votre amplificateur (Aux, Tape in, CD,
Tuner etc).
Veuillez vous assurer que la sortie du canal droit du MM
Flex est connectée à l'entrée du canal droit sur votre
amplificateur, et que la sortie du canal gauche du MM
Flex est connectée à l'entrée du canal gauche sur votre
amplificateur.
Si votre amplificateur est déjà équipé d'une entrée
phono, ne connectez pas le MM Flex à cette entrée
phono : celle-ci est conçue pour être connectée
directement à une cellule de platine, et non à des
périphériques de ligne tels que le MM Flex.

3. Brancher l'adaptateur d'alimentation
Assurez-vous que l’interrupteur Marche/Arrêt du MM
Flex est sur la position OFF (vers l’extérieur) et que
l’adaptateur secteur n’est pas connecté à une prise
secteur.
Branchez le câble d'alimentation à la prise
d'alimentation (« DC 24V ») du panneau arrière du MM
Flex.
Après avoir choisi et installé la prise secteur enfichable
correcte pour votre pays, branchez l'adaptateur
d'alimentation à une prise secteur et appuyez sur
l'interrupteur M/A (« ON ») sur le panneau arrière du MM
Flex.
Utilisez toujours l’adaptateur secteur fourni ou une
pièce de rechange Thorens originale !
Si vous préférez, le MM Flex peut être laissé sous
tension, grâce à sa consommation électrique très
faible. Si vous envisagez de ne pas l'utiliser pendant
un temps prolongé, nous vous suggérons de
débrancher l'adaptateur d'alimentation de la prise
secteur.
Votre MM Flex est maintenant prêt à l’utilisation. Vous
pouvez à présent mettre sous tension ou désactiver la
sourdine de votre amplificateur et apprécier votre
musique favorite !
