SAFETY
Indicates an imminently hazardous situation that, if not avoided, WILL result in
DEATH OR VERY SERIOUS INJURY.
Indicates an imminently hazardous situation that, if not avoided, COULD result
in DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY.
Indicates an imminently hazardous situation that, if not avoided, MAY result in
MINORINJURY.
Identifies special instructions or procedures that, if not strictly observed, could
result in damage to, or destruction of the machine, attachments or the
enviroment.
NOTE: Identifies points of particular interest for more efficient or convienient operation
or repair. (SG-1)
General Safety Instructions and Practices
A safe and careful operator is the best operator. Safety is of primary importance to the
manufacturerand shouldbe tothe owner/ operator. Mostaccidentscanbe avoidedby
beingawareof yourequipment,your surroundings,and observingcertainprecautions.
Thefirst sectionof thismanual includesalist ofSafety Messagesthat, iffollowed, willhelp
protectthe operatorandbystanders frominjury ordeath. Read andunderstandthese
SafetyMessages beforeassembling, operating orservicing thismower. Thisequipment
shouldonly beoperatedby thosepersons whohave readtheManual, whoare responsible
andtrained, andwho knowhow todo so safelyand responsibly.
TheSafetyAlertSymbolcombined witha Signal Word, asseen below, is used
throughoutthismanual andon decals whichare attachedtothe equipment. The
SafetyAlert Symbolmeans: “ATTENTION! BECOMEALERT! YOUR SAFETY
IS INVOLVED!” Thesymbol andsignal wordare intended towarn theowner /
operatorof impendinghazards andthe degreeof possibleinjury whenoperating
thisequipment.
Practice all usual and customary safe working precautions and
above all -- remember safety is up to YOU! Only YOU can
prevent serious injury or death from unsafe practices.
