DOMINO PHONO PREAMP
Powering on: When turning your system on and off, it’s
important that the Domino be the first thing you switch
on and the last thing you switch off. This gives the
output time to stabilise and will avoid nasty pops and
clicks coming through your speakers. It’s also a good
idea to switch your system off as above before
adjusting Domino’s gain settings.
Setup: It's best to use the lowest gain setting that
provides you with enough volume. Lower gain settings
have lower noise, higher overload margins and are
more resistant to interference. If you're using an MM
cartridge, start with 40 dB gain and increase if required.
For MC, start with 49 dB.
Troubleshooting:
Distortion: If the sound is distorted on loud passages,
the gain stages may be overloading. Lower the gain
setting until the distortion disappears.
Low pitched hum: Make sure your turntable’s ground
lead is connected to the Domino’s ground post. Try
plugging turntable or amp into different sockets.
Interference: Make sure your turntable’s ground lead is
connected to the Domino’s ground post. Use high
quality shielded interconnects. Attach a ferrite core to
the ground lead near Domino’s ground post.
