1.1 General instructions
State-of-the-art
This tool is state-of-the-art technology. To ensure the equipment
operates properly and safely, it must be operated properly with
safety in mind at all times.
Technical changes
In the interests of quality assurance, we reserve the unrestricted
right to carry out technical changes as a result of further techno-
logical developments and product improvements without prior
notication.
Reading the owner’s manual
Before using the tool, make sure you read the own-
er‘s manual carefully and understand it. This manual
must always be available where the product is used.
Handling
All actions necessary to ensure correct operation are described
in the owner‘s manual. Any working methods other than those
approved by the manufacturer are prohibited.
Faults
If faults occur, the operator may only eliminate those faults
through their own actions where the corresponding remedy is
described.
Warranty
The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage or injury
caused by improper repair or the use of third-party replacement
parts.
No warranty will be provided for damage caused to the device
due to the tool being used incorrectly.
Environment
Make sure that the tool is set up in a work area which is free from
corrosive liquids, greases and oils.
Declaration of Conformity
The tool has been manufactured and inspected in
compliance with European directives. The Decla-
ration of Conformity is included with this owner‘s
manual.
Risk of damage to the tool
The tool must only be used as intended. It is expressly
forbidden to misuse the tool or to use it for any other
purpose. Please make sure that you and your sta
handle the tool correctly.
Risk of injury
In addition to the owner’s manual and the binding
provisions of the accident prevention regulations
which apply at the place of use, you must also comply
with the general (accepted) rules for safe and profes-
sional working.
Technical personnel
Only trained and instructed personnel are authorized to carry
out the repair / maintenance work on the vehicles and vehicle
components concerned.
These personnel must also be able to prove that they have par-
ticipated in further training which enables them to carry out the
particular activities which are required for this tool.

1.5 Safety instructions
The tool is strictly approved only for the purposes
for which the manufacturer has designed it.
The tool must only be used for the activities described in this
owner's manual. Never use the tool for any purpose except that
for which it is designed. Safety is no longer guaranteed if the tool
is used incorrectly.
The tool may only be used to lift the Heat 220XLR and 220LR.
The stated nominal load of 150 kg must not be exceeded.
CAUTION
If used with the wrong accessories, this may cause
material damage and bodily injury.
Not using original tools and original accessories will result in a
high risk to safety.Only original accessories and accessories
which have been approved by BMW may be used (see BMW
workshop manual).
Only use the screws provided or screws of the same size and
quality class.
Alterations to the tool are not permitted. The manufacturer is not
liable for any alterations or modifications carried out on the tool
or for any resulting material or bodily injury.
CAUTION
Risk of material damage and bodily injury
You must read and understand the safety instructions before
carrying out the repair.
Not reading the instructions may result in serious bodily injury.
Wear safety shoes (according to ISO 20345, S2).
Wear protective gloves to prevent cut injuries.
Here, there is a risk of crushing and serious injury!
CAUTION
Risk of material damage and bodily injury
Untrained or uninstructed personnel are prohibited from
operating the tool.The tool must not be lent to untrained persons.
Ensure that the tool is only operated by trained personnel who
are instructed in its use.
Ensure that the owner's manual is made available
to the operating personnel.
Each operator must carefully read and understand this owner's
manual before starting for the first time.This manual must always
be available at the site where the product is used.
Follow the workshop manual from BMW AG.
Workshop manuals must be referred to without
reservation.
Follow the applicable national regulations for the
prevention of accidents.
In addition to the owner's manual and the binding provisions of
the accident prevention regulations which apply in the country
of use, you must also comply with the general, accepted rules for
safe and professional working.
Pay attention to the nameplate and the labelling
on the tool. The tool and the labels on it must be
inspected visually every time before use.
Never throw the tool or allow it to fall.
When lifting and lowering the load, avoid
bumping into obstacles.
Using the device to carry people or climbing on
the raised load is not permitted.
This tool must not be used if you see anything abnormal with it.

use
Improper
use
The tool must only be used according to the specifications of BMW AG to lift a load of
no more than 150 kg (Heat 220XLR+LR). Only use the device in connection with 00 2
320/322; 83 30 2 455 010; 2 455 010 and 83 30 2 413 082.
The load-carrying capacity of 150 kg indicated on the tool is the maximum nominal load
for which it may be used for lifting purposes. The tool may not be used in any other way.
Lifting or lowering or turning the tool is prohibited while people are in the dan-
ger zone of the load.
Standing beneath the load while it is being lifted or lowered or turned is prohib-
ited.
The operator may only initiate a lifting or lowering or turning procedure once he is
satisfied that the tool is properly secured.
Undoing of the screws of the tool while it is loaded is forbidden.
When installing the tool, make sure that the operator is not endangered by the tool
itself or by the universal bracket.
The load must be lifted /lowered / turned slowly and carefully.
Consult the manufacturer before using the tool in specific atmospheres (high humidity,
salty, acidic or basic).
CAUTION
Risk of material damage and bodily injury
If the tool is defective, it must be put out of service immediately.
It may only be used with the Heat 220XLR+LR which is approved by BMW AG.
You are not permitted to work beneath the suspended load unless it is secured by suit-
able means.
Only use for lowering, raising and minor movements.
Do not use as a working platform.

Risk of injury
The tool must be positioned so that there is no danger of crushing.
Load-carrying capacity
Before using the tool, check that the nominal load 150 kg specified for it is not exceed-
ed.
Stable positioning
The lifting device may only be used on a level, horizontal, solid floor.
Warranty
The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage caused by repairs which have been
carried out incorrectly.
Improper use of the device which causes damage to equipment will invalidate the war-
ranty.
Only use with the screws provided.
Checks may only be carried out by qualified personnel. The tool must be inspected at
least once a year. If you are using the tool frequently, carry out the inspection at shorter
intervals. Essentially, the inspections are visual and functional ones, required to evalu-
ate the condition of parts in terms of damage, wear, corrosion or other changes and to
determine the completeness and effectiveness of the safety features.
Repairs may only be carried out by the manufacturer or by persons authorized by the
manufacturer.
Repair surface damage to prevent corrosion. Clean the device every six months, when
heavily contaminated or as necessary.
The checks must be arranged by the operator.

Follow the workshop manual of BMW.
Remove and lift the Heat according to BMW
specifications.
Do not exceed the permitted lifting weight of
the jack.
The lifting equipment may only be moved at its
lowest position.
Observe the lifting equipment and load during
all movements.
The CE mark on the jack may expire.

Fasten the adaptor plate with the two hexagon head screws
ISO 4017 -M10x30 -10.9, the two hexagon head screws ISO
4014 - M10x65-10.9 and the associated washers ISO 7093 -10-
200HV at the lifting points of the Heat 220XLR.

Fasten the cone adaptor 83 30 2 455 010 to the adaptor plate
with the cylinder head screws ISO 4762 - M10x30 -10.9.

Preparation:
Fasten the mount 83 30 2 413 082 to the assembly stand with
the universal support arm 00 2 320/322.
Place the unit with the cone adapter 83 30 2 455 010 on the
mount 83 30 2 413 082.

tool storage
Examine the tool for possible damage every time
before and after use.
Lay the tool down to store it.
Always store the tool so that it is clean and safe.
Avoid contamination.
Clean the tool before storing it.

4.2 Warranty
The purchasers of the tool with type designation 83 30 5 A1B E86 from TKR Spezialwerkzeuge GmbH shall be
granted a warranty of 24 months against defects which are due to material or factory faults. Otherwise, the
statutory conditions governing warranty periods and our General Terms and Conditions of Sale and Supply
apply.
The warranty begins on the date of delivery, as specified on the invoice or delivery note.
The warranty shall be valid for the user/ customer provided that the tool is obtained from an authorized sales
outlet and is used as described in the instructions and for the purposes for which it was designed.
The warranty shall be invalidated if the tool is used for any purposes other than those for which it was designed.
Furthermore, the warranty shall be invalidated if the tool is not used as described in the owner’s manual.
In the event of defect or fault, TKR Spezialwerkzeuge GmbH shall only repair or replace faulty parts at its own
discretion.
