570-173SRCA Series Assembly Instructions Continued…
Refer to “570-173HB series” and “570-173FB series” instruction sheets prior to using these instructions
in order to fully assemble bed. Finials are located in the headboard and footboard packages.
Assembly will require two people!
How to Attach Side Rails to Headboard/Footboard
* All needed hardware is located in a hardware bag which should be taped to inside of side rail.
1. Insert Threaded Rods (E) into metal dowels in post thru open hole. Twist clockwise until tight.
2. With both threaded rods in place, and side rail positioned with T-slots to inside, slide side rail over threaded
rods.
3. Add Flat Washer (D), Lock Washer (C), and Hex Nut (B) to threaded rod.
4. Tighten hex nut with wrench (A) until tight. Repeat process for other three corners.
How to Attach Slats to Side Rails
1. Insert Leveler into bottom of Center Support Leg and twist until tight.
2. Insert bolted end of Center Support Leg into bottom of Slats. There is a T-nut in the center of the board.
Rotate clockwise until tight.
3. Adjust leveler on bottom of support leg so that support leg and leveler sit ½” above floor.
4. Place a Slat 3” to 5” inward from each end of wood cleats. Place two slats between two end slats so that there
is an equal amount of space between all four slats.
5. Secure slats with Wood Screws (F) provided. Note that top side of slat has larger hole.
How to Assemble Canopy
1. Insert Notched Threaded Rod (G) so that short end below notch on threaded rod screws into finial and
long end above notch on threaded rod is sticking up. Twist notched threaded rod until tight. Repeat for
other three posts.
2. Lay Short Canopy Rail on top of both head posts so that holes in short canopy rail fit over threaded rods.
3. Repeat Step 2 for other short canopy rail and foot posts.
4. Lay Long Canopy Rail on top of head and foot posts so that holes on each end of long canopy rail fit
over threaded rods and rail rests on top of short canopy rails.
5. Repeat Step 4 for other long canopy rail and other head and foot posts.
6. Position Finial (located in packaging for headboard and footboard) on top of each post so that hole in
Finial fits over notched threaded rod.
7. Add (1) Flat Washer (D), (1) Lock Washer (C), and (1) Hex Nut (B) to each notched threaded rod.
8. Tighten hex nut with Socket Wrench (H) until tight.
Post-Only Option
1. Position Finial (located in packaging for headboard and footboard) on top of head and foot posts so that
hole in Finial aligns with holes in top of posts.
2. Insert Notched Threaded Rod (G) so that long end below notch on threaded rod screws into finial and
short end above notch on threaded rod is sticking up. Twist notched threaded rod until tight.
3. Add Flat Washer (D), Lock Washer (C), and Hex Nut (B) to notched threaded rod.
4. Tighten hex nut with Socket Wrench (H) until tight.
5. Repeat Steps 1-4 for other three corners.
