UNPACKING YOUR GUITAR
If your guitar is factory packed it may be wrapped in a thin, temperature insulating
bag. This bag can be discarded.

CONSTRUCTION & SETUP
CONSTRUCTION:
The Vaibrant comes equipped with both humbucker and single-coil pickups, a 5 way “hybrid” pickup selector
switch and volume and tone controls.
The guitar has many standard features such as an adjustable truss rod, an adjustable Floyd Rose floating
tremolo bridge and standard 1/4” output.
SETUP:
Your new Traveler Guitar will arrive without the tremolo arm attached. Whenever your guitar is placed in its
gig bag, or transported, the tremolo arm should be removed. See “stringing and tuning Floyd Rose systems”
for more information.

Attaching Arm:
1. Slide tremolo arm into socket.
2. Turn the arm cap nut clockwise about 4 turns until it stops.
3. If you want your arm to stay up then tighten the cap nut fairly tight.
4. If you want your arm to swing freely then back off slightly on the cap nut.
5. Remove arm when transporting or storing guitar in its case.
6. Oil socket with a drop of 3-in-1oil twice a year or more.
Overall String Height Adjustment:
1. Turn string height studs C.W. to lower action.
2. Turn string height studs C.C.W. to raise action.
Changing Strings:
1. We recommend changing one string at a time.
2. Loosen locking nut clamp screw with 3mm allen wrench.
3. Loosen string completely by turning machine head.
4. Remove string.
5. Remove any broken string bits from lock box with small magnetic screwdriver or long nose tweezers.
6. Normalize the tremolo fine tuners to the mid point of their travel.
7. Cut ball end and ball end wraps off of the new string.
8. Insert new string into lock box, sandwiched between lock box wall and lock block.
9. Tighten saddle lock screws snug, but do not over tighten them.
10. Slide string through the small hole in the machine head post. Take up all the slack then tighten the
thumb screw on the back. Cut off the excess string and then tune your guitar.
11. Tune up from low E string to high E string, several times in order to stretch the tremolo springs.
12. Stretch your strings using the tremolo arm.
13. When strings hold their pitch relative to each other, re-attach and tighten locking nut clamps.
14. Fine tune using the fine tuners.
Tips While Changing Strings:
1. Don’t rest palm on tremolo while tuning up or fine tuning.
2. Over tightening of saddle lock screws can cause: Lock box walls to crack, distortion of shape of the
lock block, rounding of allen sockets, and, or cause rapid string breakage.
3. Wrap tuning machine string posts several wraps like any traditional guitar.

If the arm socket becomes loose,
tighten with a 3mm allen wrench.
Spring Tension Adjustment:
Your Vaibrant guitar comes set up with a set of D’Addario EXL120 (9-42 strings). If you continue to use the
same brand and gauge of strings, spring tension adjustment is normally not necessary. However, if you
switch brands or gauges you may need to re- adjust spring tension. Follow the steps below.
1. Tune up guitar to pitch.
2. Remove rear cover plate.
If tremolo rear end is to high in the air:
•Tighten the two screws on the rear of the guitar that hold the spring claw, a half turn each
with a phillips #2 driver.
•Re-tune guitar and see if tremolo is parallel with guitar body.
•If it’s just right, go to step #11. If it’s still to high repeat steps #4 & 5.
•Put rear cover plate back on.
If tremolo rear end is setting to low in the tremolo cavity:
•Loosen the two screws that hold the spring claw, a half turn each with a phillips #2 driver.
•Re-tune and see if tremolo is parallel with guitar body.
•If it is just right, go to step #11. If it’s still too low repeat steps #8 & 9.
•Put rear cover plate back on.
Tips When Adjusting Spring Tension:
•When turning the two claw screws, have your guitar face down on a padded table.
•Hold screw driver firmly when turning, so as not to slip off screw head and scratch the back of your
guitar.

CLEANING:
Periodic cleaning and polishing will help protect your Traveler Guitar. Use a polish formulated for musical
instruments and apply it according to the polish directions—or, you can wipe the guitar down with a clean,
damp cloth followed quickly by a clean, dry cloth. To clean residue off the fingerboard, you can use extra-fine
steel wool to rub up and down the length of the fingerboard over the top of the frets. Never use furniture
polish on the guitar, as you may damage the finish.
STORAGE:
When not in use, your Traveler Guitar should be stored in its included gig bag to protect it from exposure to
the elements. Protect your guitar from extreme temperatures and changes in humidity. Never leave your
Traveler Guitar in a closed vehicle or any other location where the guitar will be exposed to extreme heat. If
you live in a dry climate, you may want to use a guitar humidifier.
ADJUSTMENTS:
We recommend leaving complicated operations (such as truss rod adjustments) to a trained guitar
technician. Improper truss rod adjustments may damage your guitar and void your warranty.
HANG STRAP:
The leather hang strap attached to your guitar’s endcap was designed to aid in-store display, but it can also
be used to hang your guitar from a wall mount or stand. Be sure your guitar is secure before walking away
from it. If you wish, you can remove the strap by clipping the plastic tie with wire cutters. Be careful not to
scratch the finish on the neck or endcap.

Each Traveler Guitar instrument is warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for as
long as it is owned by the original retail purchaser except strings, tuning machines, frets, switches, electronic
components, jacks, pickguards, and plated surfaces, which are warranted for a period of three (3) years from
the date of the original purchase. The warranty is only eligible to the original owner, and the guitar must
have been purchased from an authorized Traveler Guitar dealer.
Traveler Guitar will replace or repair, at its discretion, any Traveler Guitar instrument or part thereof,
which is found by Traveler Guitar to be defective. Traveler Guitar reserves the right to use original
replacement materials or materials of similar design at the time of the repair.
To become eligible for warranty service, the original purchaser must:
1. Submit a completed warranty card or online registration form to Traveler Guitar.
2. Contact Traveler Guitar to obtain a Return Authorization Code before returning any instrument for
service.
3. Provide proof of purchase with all requests for warranty service (original receipt.)
4. Be responsible for all freight and transportation to and from Traveler Guitar’s facility in Redlands, CA.
The Traveler Guitar Warranty does not cover:
1. Instruments that have been altered or modified in any way, including altered or removed serial
numbers.
2. Instruments that have been subjected to extreme temperature or humidity, chemicals, synthetic
materials or other abnormal conditions.
3. Wear, discoloration or marks on the finish, metal plating or wood grain of the guitar.
4. Setups, adjustments, tonal characteristics or routine maintenance of any kind.
5. Instruments that have been damaged due to misuse or neglect.
6. Normal wear and tear to hardware including: strings, tuning machines, frets, switches, electronic
components, jacks, pickguards, and plated surfaces.
