5. Before removing the oil filter cover from your vehicle, please compare the parts you received with the
list of materials provided in the installation manual in order to assure that you have all the parts
necessary for the installation of your new TRO Designs oil filter cover.

and pictures representing individual steps of the installation, please note that the photographs and

8 MM WRENCH OR SOCKET
TORQUE WRENCH

CLEAN ENGINE OIL/GREASE
(2X) OEM DUCATI 88650761A O-RINGS

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Ensure the TRO Designs oil filter cover is clean and free of dust. Install (2x) new o-rings
(Ducati P/N 88650761A). Once in-place, apply a thin coat of new engine oil and/or
grease to the o-rings to facilitate easier installation and prevent seizing.
2. Press the filter cover straight into the oil filter bore. Tighten the (3x) M6 screws to 10
Nm (7.38 ft-lb) with an 8 mm socket and torque wrench.

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Loosen and remove the (3x) M6 screws with an 8 mm wrench or socket.
2. Install the 3/16” diameter quick release pin by pressing the blue button while inserting
the pin into the oil filter cover. Once fully seated, releasing the blue button will lock the
pin in-place with a ball detent.

3. Using pliers or vice grips, grip the pin from the center of the filter cover and pull the
cover out of the engine. For extra stability during removal, use one hand to guide the
filter cover and one hand to remove it with pliers.
NOTE:
If slower control of the removal of the cover is desired, the (3x) M6
screws can be left in during removal –it is recommended to loosen the
screws until 5-6 threads are exposed. The screws will then act as a stop
when pulling the filter cover away from the engine.
