R65
The R65 does NOT fit in the typical 2x4 wall depth of 3.5". Because it was designed exclusively for ceiling
use and most ceiling depth is usually 8", this model requires 5.75” mounting depth. Please keep this in
mind while deciding on the final installation location of this speaker.
The biggest determination of any speaker's sound quality, is the room and the location of the speaker in
that room. The unique baffle and tweeter allows the frequencies to radiate toward the listening area and
down, away from the ceiling. With the woofer mounted at the designed angle, even the lower
frequencies will be more pronounced and less forgotten like most in-ceiling home theater speakers. The
pivotable tweeter makes it easy to adjust the high frequencies to the perfect degree once the speaker and
furniture are in their final location.

Installing the R65
Use the provided cutout
template to cut a hole in the
desired installation location.
1. 2. Terminate the wires to the binding
posts. Connect the red (+) to the
red terminal and the black (-) to
the black terminal.

3. Place speaker into the hole with the
drive angle pointing to the listening area.
Tighten the dog ears to secure the
speaker in place. Be sure to not over
tighten the mounting screws.
The R65 speaker comes with a white grill in the box, a black grill is sold separately if you desire. If you are
going to paint the grill, it is recommended to paint the grills before installation. When painting the grills, it is
VERY IMPORTANT that you remove the cloth-like material (Dacron) from the grill before painting. You may
then paint the grills lightly, being careful not to clog the perforation in the grill. Depending on the thickness
of the paint, you may want to thin it down and spray a few light coats. This will help prevent clogging the
grill’s perforation.
Tip: Always keep compressed air nearby to lightly blow paint buildup from the grill perforation.
