WARNINGS
INSTALLATION
The motorcycle’s battery must be disconnected
before installation and not reconnected until
the installation is complete.
OPERATION
Riding a motorcycle requires your full
attention at all times. Do not attempt to
operate or adjust the audio system
while riding.
WATER/MOISTURE EXPOSURE
The components and overall product design
are weather-resistant which means they can
survive exposure to rain and normal outdoor
moisture. However, care should be taken
especially when washing your motorcycle
not to expose the system to high pressure
(hose nozzle) water spray. Since the system
easily detaches from the motorcycle with the
windshield, we recommend removing the
windshield/audio system when washing
your ride. Evidence of excessive water
exposure will void the warranty.

INSTALLATION · RADIO ASSEMBLY
Remove the five original equipment manufacturer’s
(OEM) windshield screws and acorn nuts from
the windshield frame.
The two lower short bolts and the center short
bolts are not used. Set them aside(c).
Now, take the radio... and remove the three
screws and washers from the rear of the unit. You can discard the washers. (NOTE: The two
outer screws are shorter than the center screw.)
The three screws indicated here across the top
horizontal
frame(a). And, the two here on the
vertical frames(b).
Keep the two top longer bolts and nuts to use
when installing the radio(d).
Hold the radio housing from the front. Insert the
longer screw just removed from the radio through
the center hole in the windshield bracket.
ATTACHING THE AUDIO SYSTEM TO THE WINDSHIELD
Align the center hole on the radio up with the
center screw on the windshield bracket. Push the
radio onto the screw — and tighten with your ngers(e).

INSTALLATION · RADIO ASSEMBLY
Use the longer screws you set aside earlier and
use them to attach the lower radio brackets to the
windshield vertical frame members. Install screws,
but do not tighten(f)
.
Now, install the two shorter screws that were supplied
with your radio. Attach them through the top holes
on the windshield vertical brackets. Screw them
in loosely(g).
Once you have all the screws in, gradually tighten
all the securing fasteners (h) so you can check
proper alignment as you go.
On the lower bracket
screws you will need to use the wrench while you
tighten with the torx drive(i).
Your audio system is now installed on the windshield.
NOTE: THIS LOCKING SYSTEM
DOES NOT GUARANTEE
TO PREVENT THE THEFT OF
THE WINDSHIELD OR
AUDIO SYSTEM.
First, remove the windshield’s stock locking spring
hardware. Insert the bolt through the side frame and hook-lock
(j)
and fasten with a 3/8˝ wrench.
Repeat this procedure for the second lock.

OPTIONAL LOCKING BRACKET
(If you purchased the optional locking kit, now is the time to install them on the windshield.)

First, you must remove the seat and completely
disconnect the battery.
Locate the four-pin accessory plug located
between the frame rails in front of the battery
and remove the cap.
(k&l )
Next, loosen the console on top of the gas tank
by removing the lower nut and accompanying
washer... as well as the top bolt.
Pull up gently on the console, and carefully
push the wiring harness under the rubber gasket
surrounding the console. Make sure the harness
NOTE: If you are installing on an older bike that
does not have this accessory plug, you should
obtain an additional fused battery direct harness
from Twisted Audio for your installation.
is fully inserted under the gasket from one end
of the console to the other(m). Replace and tighten
the hardware that attaches the console.
Now plug the wiring harness into the accessory
plug under the seat(n) and secure the harness to
the bike’s wiring with a tie wrap(o).

Now feed the other end of the wiring harness up
through the bike’s main harness clamp — and
through the opening in the top fork cover as you see
here(p). This may take a little fiddling to achieve.

FINAL INSTALLATION
Reattach the windshield — with the audio system —
to the bike(q).
Take the two-pin power plug on the wiring harness
and connect to the socket on the bottom of the
audio system(r).
Push the windshield back into place on the bike(u)
— if you installed the optional windshield locking
brackets, you can rotate the lock bracket down into
the lock positions(v). Make sure the hole in the lock
hook aligns with the hole in the windshield frame(w).
Secure the harness in front of the tank using
a tie wrap (s).
Be sure to switch on the Harley-Davidson accessory
switch located in front of the gas tank, otherwise
no power will get to your audio system(t).
Insert the lock screw (x) and tighten with the
Torx driver. Repeat on the other side. Now, the
windshield cannot be removed without removing
the screws.
