② Put the 2.5-inch hard drive on the drive tray.

② Install back the fixing plates and be careful of their direction. ③ Flip the tray over and make sure that the four holes of hard drive align with those of the
tray, then screw the hard drive firmly.
Put the drive tray back into the enclosure, then slowly push it to the SATA port.

① As the following picture, remove one of the plates first.
2.2 2.5-inch Hard Drive
Do not unplug the hard drive when the device is powered on, please follow the steps below:
① Safely eject the hard drive from your PC/laptop.
② Turn the device off and take out the hard drive.

· Connect the enclosure to your PC/laptop via the provided cable, then connect to the power
adapter.
· Power on the device, the power indicator turns solid red.
4 Plug the Device into Power Outlet
· Power off: press and hold the power button (about 3 seconds) until the power indicator
goes off.
· Select an array mode based on Array Modes Diagram, and adjust the DIP switch "1/2/3"
respectively.
· Hold "RESET" and long press the power button (about 3 seconds) to turn it on; after 15
seconds release the RESET button. The mode change succeeds if the drive indicator flashes
white.
· Go to "This PC"> "Manage" > "Computer management" > "Device manager", then check the
current RAID mode.

Non-standard or non-certified adapters are not allowed in case of the potential risks.

IV RAID Mode Setting and Connection
1 Switch RAID Modes
· It is recommended that you use each brand new hard drive of the same capacity.
· If you use an old hard drive, please format it before switching the RAID mode, and back up all of
your important data.
· The default mode of the product is PM mode.
· Switch back to PM mode first when you need to change modes, then switch to the RAID mode
you prefer.

2 RAID Modes & DIP Switch
A RAID mode formed by RAID 0 read & write speed + RAID 1 safety.
Two disks form a RAID 1, then two sets of RAID 1 form a RAID 0.
When two disks fail at the same time but they're not in the same RAID 1, then the data can still be readable.
Best security, average read and write speed and smallest available capacity.
Take the min. capacity disk as the main one, then clone data to the other disks, all of the disks share the same
data. When one disk fails, all the others will not be affected.
Largest available capacity, average read and write speed, and low security.
All hard drives form a big drive, when one of them fails, all of your data will be unrecoverable.
Default factory setting mode, all disks work separately.

3 Drive Partitioning and Formatting
Online drive and drive partitioning after switching RAID mode. The formatting may differ
depending on the different operating system, please check your operating system for
reference.
Windows
① Online drive: connect the hard drive to PC/laptop
Go to "This PC" > "Manage" > "Storage" > "Disk Management" and select the correct hard
drive to "Initialize Disk".
② Drive partitioning: create a "New Simple Volume" and set its capacity.
Select the unallocated space and right click "New Simple Volume", then follow the pop-up
windows until the process is completed. Your PC/laptop will be able to read the drive after
formatting.
macOS
Step: "Other" > "Disk Utility" > "Erase", choose the file format "ExFAT", then "Erase" >
"Complete". Your Mac can read the drive after formatting.
If the drive capacity is below 2TB in the current RAID mode, select MBR., otherwise, select GPT.
Note
The default drive format of Windows and Linux is "NTFS", as for macOS, you must choose the
"ExFAT" format.

Linux
Step: "Applications" > "Disks", select the external drive and click "Format Partition"; after
formatting please enter "Mount", then your PC/laptop can read the drive.
V Other Settings
1 Add New Drives
A new hard drive requires RAID mode switching twice, then all hard drives will be formatted. Please
back up all the data in advance.
VI Notes
· For optimal performance, it is recommended that you use the product on the device with USB 3.0
or above ports.
· Please put the product in an environment of stable temperature and humidity to avoid direct
sunlight or any liquid.
· When there is a thunderstorm or an unstable voltage, please power off the product to avoid the
potential damage.
· Please power off the product before you clean it; clean it with a wet wipe, chemicals or spray
cleaner are not allowed.
· Do not drop, crush, hit, or throw the product.
· The product contains small components, please keep out of reach of children.
· Please do not disassemble or repair this product by yourself. Improper disassembly may lead to
electric shock or other potential danger, please contact UGREEN aftersales.
Warning
If there are less than 5 hard drives in the current RAID mode, then you can add new drive(s).
· Power off: press and hold the power button (about 3 seconds) until the power indicator goes off.
· Put the new hard drive in the drive tray and put it into the enclosure.
· Change DIP switch to PM mode.
· Press and hold "RESET" and long press the power button (about 3 seconds) to turn it on; after 15
seconds release "RESET", and then the hard drive indicator flashes white.
· Power off again, and change DIP switch to the original RAID mode.
· Repeat step 4.
· After the hard drive is connected and partitioned, then it's successfully added.
Add a new drive
When using RAID 1/3/5/10/Clone modes, you'll have to replace with a brand new hard drive if one
of your disks fails.
· Press and hold the power button (about 3 seconds) to turn it off.
· Replace the broken disk with a new one.
Tip: capacity of new hard drive ≥ capacity of broken hard drive.
· Press and hold the power button (about 3 seconds) to turn it on.
· When the disk indicator flashes red and white alternately, the new disk starts to restore (back up)
data.
· When the drive indicator turns solid white, the data recovery (backup) is completed.

② Setzen Sie die 2,5-Zoll-Festplatte in den Laufwerkträger ein.

② Bringen Sie die Befestigungsplatten wieder an und achten Sie auf eine richtige Richtung. ③ Drehen Sie das Fach um und stellen Sie sicher, dass die vier Löcher der Festplatte mit
denen des Fachs übereinstimmen, und schrauben dann die Festplatte fest.
Setzen Sie den Laufwerkträger wieder in das Gehäuse ein und schieben Sie ihn dann langsam
an den SATA-Port.
3 Einsetzen des Laufwerksfachs wieder in das Gehäuse
① Wie in der folgenden Abbildung gezeigt, entfernen Sie zuerst eine der Platten.
2.2 2.5-Zoll Festplatte
Beim Einschalten-Status stecken Sie die Festplatte nicht ein/aus, wenn die Festplatte ausgezogen
werden muss, befolgen die Schritte:
① Festplatte sicher aus Ihrem PC/Laptop auswerfen.
② Schalten Sie das Gerät aus und entnehmen Sie die Festplatte.

· Verbinden Sie das Gehäuse über das mitgelieferte Kabel mit Ihrem PC/Laptop und dann mit
dem Netzteil.
· Wenn das Gerät eingeschaltet wird, die Betriebsanzeige leuchtet durchgehend rot.
4 Stecken die Festplatte in die Steckdose
· Ausschlaten: Halten Sie die Stromtaste gedrückt (ca. 3 Sekunden), bis die Betriebsanzeige
erlischt
· Wählen Sie einen Array-Modus basierend auf dem Array-Modus-Diagramm und stellen Sie
den DIP-Schalter entsprechend auf „1/2/3 “ .
· Halten Sie „RESET “gedrückt und drücken auf die Stromtaste (ca. 3 Sekunden) zum
Einschalten; etwa nach 15 Sekunden blinkt der Anzeiger weiß, wird der Modus erfolgreich
umgeschaltet.
· Überprüfen Sie unter „Computerverwaltung “ > „Geräte-Manager “den aktuellen
RAID-Modus.

2 RAID Modus& DIP Switch
Ein RAID-Modus, gebildet aus RAID 0 Lese- und Schreibgeschwindigkeit + RAID 1 Sicherheit.

3 Partitionieren und Formatieren von Laufwerken
Online-Laufwerks- und Laufwerkspartitionierung nach dem Wechsel des RAID-Modus. Die
Formatierung kann je nach Betriebssystem unterschiedlich sein, bitte überprüfen Sie Ihr
Betriebssystem als Referenz.

① Online Laufwerk: eine Verbindung der Festplatte mit dem PC/Laptop
Gehen Sie zu „Dieser PC “ > „Verwalten “ > „Speicher “ > „Festplattenverwaltung “und ·
wählen die richtige Festplatte aus zur „Initialisierung einer Festplatte “.
② Laufwerkspartitionierung: Erstellen Sie ein „New Simple Volume “ und legen seine
Kapazität fest. Wählen Sie den nicht zugewiesenen Speicherplatz aus und klicken mit der
rechten Maustaste auf „New Simple Volume “. Folgen Sie dann den Popup-Fenstern, bis

Schritt:„Anwendungen “ > „Laufwek “, wählen Sie das externe Laufwerk aus und klicken Sie
auf „Partition formatieren"; nach der Formatierung bitte „Mount “ eingeben, dann kann Ihr
PC/Laptop das Laufwerk lesen.

1 Neue Festplatte hinzufügen
Eine neue Festplatte erfordert zweimaliges Umschalten des RAID-Modus, dann werden alle
Festplatten formatiert. Bitte sichern Sie vorher alle Daten.
VI. Hinweise
· Für eine omptimale Benutzerfahrungen verwenden Sie das Produkt auf dem Gerät mit USB
3.0-Anschlüssen oder höher.
· Bitte stellen Sie das Produkt in eine Umgebung mit stabiler Temperatur und Luftfeuchtigkeit, um
direkte Sonneneinstrahlung oder Flüssigkeiten zu vermeiden.
· Bei Gewitter oder instabiler Spannung schalten Sie das Produkt bitte aus, um mögliche Schäden
zu vermeiden.
· Vor Reinigung schalten Sie das Produkt aus. Reinigen Sie es mit einem feuchten Tuch,
Chemikalien oder Sprühreiniger sind nicht erlaubt.
· Lassen Sie das Produkt nicht fallen, quetschen, schlagen oder werfen es nicht.
· Das Produkt enthält Kleinteile, bitte außerhalb der Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahren.
· Wenn Sie dieses Produkt zerlegen müssen, wenden Sie sich an den Kundendienst von UGREEN.
Warnung
Wenn sich im aktuellen RAID-Modus weniger als 5 Festplatten befinden, können Sie neue
Laufwerke hinzufügen.
· Ausschalten: Halten Sie die Einschalttaste (ca. 3 Sekunden) gedrückt, bis die Betriebsanzeige
erlischt.
· Setzen Sie die neue Festplatte in den Laufwerkträger ein und setzen Sie sie in das Gehäuse ein.
· Ändern Sie den DIP-Schalter in den PM-Modus.
· Halten Sie „RESET “ gedrückt und drücken Sie den Netzschalter lange (ca. 3 Sekunden), um ihn
einzuschalten; Lassen Sie nach 15 Sekunden „RESET “ los und die Festplattenanzeige blinkt
weiß.
· Schalten Sie das Gerät wieder aus und stellen Sie den DIP-Schalter auf den ursprünglichen
RAID-Modus.
· Wiederholen Sie Schritt 4.
· Nachdem die Festplatte angeschlossen und partitioniert ist, wird sie erfolgreich hinzugefügt.
Neues Laufwerk hinzufügen
Wenn Sie RAID 1/3/5/10/Clone-Modi verwenden, müssen Sie die Festplatte durch eine brandneue
Festplatte ersetzen, wenn eine Ihrer Festplatten ausfällt.
· Halten Sie den Netzschalter gedrückt (ca. 3 Sekunden), um ihn auszuschalten.
· Ersetzen Sie die defekte Festplatte durch eine neue.
Tipp: Kapazität der neuen Festplatte ≥ Kapazität der defekten Festplatte.
· Drücken und halten Sie den Netzschalter (ca. 3 Sekunden), um ihn einzuschalten.
· Wenn die Festplattenanzeige abwechselnd rot und weiß blinkt, beginnt die neue Festplatte mit
der Wiederherstellung (Sicherung) der Daten.
· Wenn die Laufwerksanzeige weiß leuchtet, ist die Datenwiederherstellung (Sicherung)
abgeschlossen.
