Product Features
The CoolSpot is a self contained air conditioning system
designed specically for spot cooling applications. The
CoolSpot is mounted above the ceiling with integral supply
and return grill that ts a standard 2’ x 4’ ceiling grid.
There are ve cooling capacities ranging in size from one
to three tons making it ideal for supplementary cooling of
existing space or new construction.
The standard air-cooled unit comes with a belt-driven
condenser fan that has eld adjustable external static
pressure ranging from .1 to 1.0” to allow for various sizes
and lengths of ductwork� A remote air-cooled condenser
is also available for exterior installation. Other cooling
options include water/glycol cooled and chilled water units�
Installation costs are kept to a minimum�
The CoolSpot ships properly charged with refrigerant,
eliminating the need for eld evacuating or charging. All
CoolSpot units include a factory installed condensate
pump, drain pan overow alarm and a wall mounted
thermostat�
All internal components are located for easy access
through removable side panels, and routine maintenance
is accomplished by removing adjacent ceiling tiles. The
evaporator fan speed selection switch and refrigerant
service ports are mounted on a bulkhead easily accessible
through the return air grill� Operating pressures can be
determined without removing ceiling tiles�
A heavy-duty heat pump-type compressor is standard or an
optional high efciency scroll-type compressor for quieter
operation�
The CoolSpot is available with optional built in hot gas
bypass and electric heat�
Precision Cooling for Electronic Environments
The CoolSpot can provide temperature and humidity
control for your precision cooling requirements when
ordered with the optional microprocessor controller,
electronic steam canister humidier and nned tubular
electric reheat� This option makes the CoolSpot ideal for
electronic equipment rooms and small loads with a high
sensible heat ratio� The full featured Marvel microprocessor
allows control of up to 16 CoolSpots from one remote
location�
There are 12 eld-adjustable alarms that will monitor the
critical functions of the unit and the area being conditioned�
User setpoints are easily programmed at the key pad
location and can be protected to 3 different levels of
security� If desired, a night/day setback feature can be
included with the microprocessor to allow for multiple run
times�
