Il SW è pensato per fare le configurazioni minime ma sufficienti per realizzare il
collegamento radio.
Una volta configurati i dispositivi il SW permette di valutare la qualità del segnale e
migliorare il puntamento delle antenne.
Qualora non si volesse utilizzare il software di configurazioen a corredo, è possibile
accedere al dispositivo tramite:
- Pagina web (digitare l’url http://IPaddress nel browser, di default
l’indirizzo IP del dispositivo è 192.168.88.1 )
- Winbox
In questi casi occorre configurare l’indirizzo IP del PC in modo che sia nella stessa
sottorete del dispositivo che ha indirizzo IP di default 192.168.88.1, quindi con
indirizzo 192.168.88.x.
10 SUPPORTO DEL SISTEMA OPERATIVO
Il dispositivo supporta il software Mikrotik RouterOS. La versione raccomandata è la
6.43.11. Non sono stati collaudati altri sistemi operativi.
1 FIRST USE
1. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screw which secures the
bottom lid. Once the screw snaps out of place, lid can be opened.
2. Power the unit using one of the methods described in the next section of this
document.
3. Wireless AP mode is enabled by default, you can connect from your
computer to the SSID that begins with “URMET”. The configuration interface
is available via web browser. The address is http://192.168.88.1
4. The device is already preconfigured and ready to use, but we suggest to set

a wireless password and a device password to secure your network and
protect your device.
2 POWERING
The device supports multiple powering methods.
3 POE INPUT
The ethernet port accepts 9-30V passive PoE power. The box contains a 24V
adapter and a PoE injector. Plug the included PoE injector into the first or internet
port of the router that you will use in your LAN (or directly into your laptop) and
attach an ethernet cable to the PoE injector. Connect the other end of this ethernet
cable to the wAP LTE device. Plug the power supply into the PoE injector.
4 POWER JACK
The DC jack (5.5mm outside and 2mm inside diameter, female, pin positive plug)
supports 9-30V powering, the device comes with a 24V 0.8A power adapter.
5 AUTOMOTIVE CONNECTOR
The automotive connector can be used to power the device from regular 12/24 V
connections in automobiles and buses. The plug has four pins: bottom left
(black) is the ground, bottom right is power in (red). The upper two are reserved
for future use.
Maximum power consumption at 24V is 8W with LTE modem on the miniPCIe card.
6 MOUNTING
The device can be mounted in several ways: wall, ceiling or pole. The package
includes a drill hole template, to help you with the ethernet cable installation and
attachment to a ceiling or a wall. The package also includes a steel bracket to
put on the other side of a dropdown ceiling tile and two screws and wall
anchors.
To prepare the device for mounting, use a Philips screwdriver to remove the
screw inside the unit, which will detach the mounting plate. Once the mounting
plate is removed, use the drill hole template, to help you with cable installation
and attachment to a ceiling or a wall. The template includes visual guides and
instructions how to mount the unit.
7 EXPANSION SLOTS AND PORTS
Built in 2 GHz wireless access point module, AP/station/bridge/p2p modes are
supported.

One 10/100 ethernet port, supporting automatic cross/straight cable
correction (Auto MDI/X). Either straight or crossover cable can be used for
connecting to other network devices. The ethernet port accepts 9-30 V DC
powering from a passive PoE injector.
miniPCIe slot and SIM slot are used with a 3G/4G/LTE modem (included).
The device is equipped with a miniPCIe slot used with an 3G/4G/LTE modem. A
SIM slot is provided for use together.
It is possible to use external antennas for the modem, two SMA mounting holes
are provided next to the reset button, or if you prefer to attach antennas to the
case directly, SMA antennas can be mounted on the bottom of the case if you
remove the two plastic hole covers first.
After you have reinserted the board into the case, and secured it with the screws
that were removed earlier, slide in the SIM card from your mobile operator into
the SIM slot, with the chip facing up. The slot accepts miniSIM (2FF). The SIM
slot protects the SIM card from falling out with a plastic latch. You can press the
latch and then pull the SIM out using tweezers or a similar tool.
8 BUTTONS AND JUMPERS
The reset button has the following functions:
Hold this button during boot time until LED light starts flashing, release
the button to reset RouterOS configuration (total 5 seconds).
Regardless of the above option used, the system will load the backup RouterBOOT
loader if the button is pressed before power is applied to the device. Useful for
RouterBOOT debugging and recovery.
9 CONFIGURATION
To configure the devices, connect a PC using a network cable to the device's
Ethernet port.
Use the Urmet WirelessLink SW to configure 3000/088, the username is admin
and password is urmet. Download the WirelessLink SW on the product page of
the Urmet site under the DOCUMENTATION AND RESOURCES section. Refer
to the QR code of this document to access the product page link.
It is advisable to configure the PC network with static address, the SW suggests
assigning the IP address to the wireless device so that it is in the same subnet
as the PC.
If the IP connection is not available, you can use the WirelessLink SW to connect
to the MAC address of the device. 8
If the wireless interface is present and active, it is also possible to connect to the
device via the SSID, by default the SSID is “URMET”.
The SW is designed to make the minimum but sufficient configurations to make the
radio connection.
Starting the application, the SW immediately searches for the connected devices.
Choose the device to be configured and proceed.
The first time the device is configured with the WirelessLink SW, a total reset must be
performed. If the FW of the device does not have version “6.42.11”, the SW will
update this recommended version. It is however possible to install a different version
using the "Update" button after downloading a new Stable version from the Mikrotik
website (www.mikrotik.com). If, on the other hand, the reset procedure fails, the
device returns to the factory settings without any password.
The device can be configured in stand alone mode to provide internet access to a
CCTV wireless system or as a network backup through LTE connection for an ADSL
network.
Once the devices have been configured, the SW allows to evaluate the signal quality
and improve the quality of the signal.
If you do not want to use the configuration software supplied, you can access the
device through:
- Web page (type the URL http://IPaddress in the browser, by default the
IP address of the device is 192.168.88.1)
- Winbox
In those cases configure the IP address of the PC so that it is in the same subnet as
the device that has the default IP address 192.168.88.1, then with address
192.168.88.x.
10 OPERATING SYSTEM SUPPORT
The device supports Mikrotik RouterOS software. It is recommended the version
number 6.43.11. Other operating systems have not been tested.
