1. Warning / Safety
1.1. General
In general there is no risk by using NAV700 within its technical specification. Nevertheless the device
is no toy and unusable for children. Electricity can seriously damage people if not used within the
technical specifications, so therefore please take care of the following instructions:
• Always follow the installation procedure of this manual when operating with this device.
• Avoid any mechanical damages and especially no mechanical load on the display. If the display will
break, the shiver may cause serious injuries. Please use protective cloves to pack these parts and
send it back to the service center for correct waste disposal. Afterwards please clean your hands
carefully in order to wash away eventual chemical substances.
• Do not connect any accessories or parts to the interfaces of NAV700 that are not dedicated to use
for.
• Do not open NAV700 or any accessory like chargers etc. This will extinguish the warranty of the
parts any may cause deathtrap injuries because of electronic shocks, etc.
• Use the car charger only in charging sockets that are usable for car chargers with 12/24Volt.
• Be aware of traffic at all time while using NAV700. Please do all manual operations at the NAV700
only while you are not driving. Manufacturer or dealer is not responsible of any accidents caused by
using the device while driving. Beneath oral and visual instructions of the device, take always care of
the traffic and streets. The software may have older data, which may not display eventual changes in
routing and configuration of streets and roads.
• By installing the navigations system in your car, take care not to cover any instruments or operating
elements that are essential for a safe operation of your car. Also do not cover the area of eventual
inflating airbags, this function is not allowed to be impacted in any way. By using the device on your
bike or motorbike take care that it is mounted firmly and will not impact any instruments or the
steering possibility.
• In order to mount the navigation system firmly to your windscreen, please clean the windscreen from
any dust and grease. Dirty surfaces and also variations in temperature and humidity can influence
the vacuum of the suction mechanism that may result in a dismantling of the mounting bracket.
Therefore mount the system in a way that it cannot damage any instruments or be damaged by
falling down.
• By attaching the system at the windscreen please take care of national laws. In some countries it is
not allowed to cover the windscreen at a certain percentage.
• If you leave the car, please take the device out of the direct sight view in order to avoid any theft of
the device.
• In order to have best reception of satellite signals, please place the device at a location with free
access to the sky.
1.2. Data-Protection
Manufacturer is not responsible for data-loss in any way. Please backup your valuable data if
necessary. If your NAV700 is not working properly or memory card is erased, please use the back-up
DVD to rebuild the content of NAV700 or memory card.

1.3. Operating conditions
• Avoid the device and accessory to get in contact with water, high humidity, fire, heat (e.g. direct
sunlight or at the heating vent in the car) or dirt in any way. This may cause explosion or electrical
shocks and may cause serious injuries.
• Do not cover the products with anything while operating. This may cause high temperature, too.
• Do not use the battery at high temperature. The battery includes chemical substances. If the battery
lacks never touch the battery with your hand. Just use protective cloves to pack it and send it back to
the service center for correct waste disposal. Otherwise it may cause serious damages of your skin.
• Device can be operated at a temperature of 5°C to 40°C at a relative humidity of 10% to 90%
(non-condensing). So therefore avoid placing it in the car under direct sunlight.
• Storage Temperature is 0°C to 60°C.
• Be aware that at high temperature varieties inside the device there can be high humidity caused by
condensation. This may cause short-circuit.
• Avoid mechanical exposure like shock and vibration whilst driving. Permanent vibration (e.g.
Off-Road routes) may cause damages of electronic parts.
1.4. Electronic conditions
• Only use dedicated chargers for the device. Otherwise the device could be damaged or may explode
and cause serious injuries of the user.
• Be aware of high frequent or magnetic fields like TVs, loudspeakers, etc. and keep a distance of at
least 1m of these.
• If you realize any electronic interference between this and other devices, try to eliminate these by
changing positions of the device itself. Especially by in-car-navigation, be sure that the car-electronic
is working proper before starting.
1.5. Maintenance and display
• If the device gets dirty, just use a clean dry cloth to clean the NAV700 and especially the display.
Never use water, because it may damage the electronic or may permanently impact the surface of
the display.
• Do not scratch the display with any spiky items. In order to avoid any scratches of the surface we
advise the use of display-protectors (not included).
• Avoid direct sunlight or ultraviolet rays on the display. It may be damaged of these.
1.6. Transport
• If the device is transported by carriers, please ship it only by using the original carton.
• By standard transportation, try to use protection cover in order to avoid any scratches and damages
of the cover or display.
1.7. Service
• If there is any problem with the device please go to www.v7-world.com for more details or contact
your service center or local dealer.
1.8. Others
• GPS (Global Positioning System) is a satellite-based system which enables the user to receive
position and time information from geo-stationary satellites. The US government is responsible for
the functionality of this system. Therefore the manufacturer and the dealer take no responsibility for
the functionality of this system.

2. Function keys and I/O interfaces
Ref Component Description
1) SD/MMC Slot Accepts SD (Secure Digital) or MMC (MultiMedia Card) card for removable
storage.
2) Left volume key Turns the volume down.
3) On/Stand by Button Turns the device on or to suspend mode.
4) Right volume key Turns the volume up.
5) Touch Screen Displays the output of you appliance. Tap on the screen with your finger to
select menu commands or enter data.
6) Battery Charge indicator The loading display will shine red during the charging process. It will shine
green when the accumulator is completely charged.
7) Main switch/ Battery switch Separates the device from the battery completely (also Hard Reset).
8) Reset button Restarts your appliance. (Reset)
9) External antenna connection Connection for an optional external GPS antenna.
10) Headphone connector Connects to stereo headphones.
11) Mini-USB- connector Connection for connecting to a PC by means of the USB cable.
12) Loudspeaker Play back music, language statements and warnings.

3.Installation and de-installation
01) Please pull the right sided main
power switch (7) in position “ON” 02) Connect the device to external
power-supply (11) (e.g. car charger) in order
to fully charge the integrated battery (status
LED at front side of the device will change to
GREEN).
03) Insert the memory card (1) (with label up
sided and contact in front) until the card is
locked in place. Avoid any dirt or scratches on
the contacts of the memory card. Then press
the power button (3) in the front of the device.
04) Connect you device to the cradle. 04) Connect your device to the car mount by
slipping the 4-prongs of the car-mount to the
4-holes on the back of the device. Push the
mount up until you will hear a “CLICK” and
the prongs are tightened connected to the
device.
06) Press the holder against a flat part of your
windscreen/Flat Platform and press the lever
down to create a vacuum at the suction cup.
Be aware that the windscreen must be free of
any dirt.
07) Afterwards the holder is hold tightly
at your windscreen/Flat Platform now.
08) To release the holder, just push the lever
upwards... 09) ... and also pull the flap upwards to
destroy the vacuum under the suction cup.

4. Data and map-material
The device supports the following memory cards: Multimedia Cards, Reduced Sized MultiMedia Cards (with
adapter), SD Cards, miniSD Cards (with adapter). Card must be formatted by using FAT or FAT16
file-system, other formats are not supported. Be aware that formatting the memory card will erase all data.
Backup map material can be found on the backup DVD. It can be either stored on the memory card which is
included or on a new memory card which is available from your dealer.
Map material can be saved either on your NAV700 or memory cards:
• On NAV700: Insert the Back-up DVD in DVD-Rom of your PC or Notebook. Select desire language.
Launch Map Loader application by clicking the icon. Choose the desire map files and upload to your
NAV700 device.
• On SD Card: Using an internal or external card reader for the above mentioned memory cards. With
that you can copy all essential data.
5. External antenna
In case that the reception of satellite signals is disturbed in any way, you may have to use an optional
external antenna. This will be connected on the backside (9) of the device and place it at a location where
free access to the sky is granted.
6. TMC-Receiver
By using an optional TMC-Receiver the device will receive actual traffic information via the mini USB
Interface on the backside (11). Please make also sure that the software you are using is supporting the TMC
function.
How to connect:
• Please connect the car-charger with the Mini_USB_In of the TMC-receiver.
• After that please connect the mini USB plug of the TMC receiver with the mini USB Interface on the
back of NAV700 (11).
• To have a better reception of the TMC-signals, please connect the external antenna (2.5mm plug)
with the TMC receiver.
• Connect the external antenna at a suitable place in your car, where reception of signals is
guaranteed (e.g. windscreen).

7. Reset the device
There are 2 possible ways to reset the device.
• Softreset: This will not delete any data on your device. Only be necessary if the device is not reacting
properly or crashed down. Will be done by using a spiky item in the right-sided reset hole (8).
• Hardreset: This reset is like a factory-reset and will erase all data on the device (except folder “My
Flashdisk”) and user has to make all installation from the beginning. Simply disconnect all external
power supplies and switch the main-power switch (7) on the right-sided of the device to position OFF.
After 5 seconds switch it again to ON and factory-reset will be finished. Please note: By doing this
action, NAV700 will return to its default setting. All of your previous settings will lose.
8. Data Recovery
In case of any data corruption in NAV700 that requires data recovery, please connect your NAV700 to PC or
Notebook via mini USB cable. When mini USB cable is connected, a “TFAT” drive will appear. Insert Backup
DVD and select “Recovery Application” and simply copy all files under this directory to “TFAT” drive to
recover the corruption files.
9. Trouble shooting
Q: Device does not react in any way.
A: Please check if the battery runs low and recharge it.
Q: Display is frozen and it does not react.
A: Please make a soft reset of the device and start the navigation again.
Q: Application is not working.
A: Please check if the application is installed properly. If not, make a hard reset and re-install the application.
Re-install procedures please follow the instruction on 8.Data Recovery
Q: I always got the message “Please insert memory card”
A: There is no memory card inserted, data on the memory card is erased or card is not compatible. Please
check the data on the card and eventually re-format the card (FAT or FAT16) and copy all essential data
again to the card. If it is still not working maybe the card is not compatible.
Q: Memory card is erased. How can I restore all data?
A: Please take the Backup DVD (in the package) and copy all essential data again by using a card-reader.
Q: Where can I get additional maps?
A: Additional maps can be purchased at your dealer or (if purchased) on the included Backup DVD.
