Setting Up Your CheckSmart Luggage Tracker
1. Press down on the red Victorinox logo and slide forward. The red section of the device comes out of the black sleeve.
2. Insert two batteries.
3. Visit checksmart.victorinox.com to activate your CheckSmart Luggage Tracker.
4. Click “Activate Device”.
5. If you already have an account, login now. Otherwise, select “Create an Account”.
6. Once logged in, select “Add Device”.
7. Enter the serial number found on the bottom of the red section of the device and follow the steps on screen.
Slide the red section back into the black sleeve.
Note: If you have already purchased a subscription plan with your device, the system will automatically assign
the subscription and activation is complete at this point.
8. Once the process is complete, the device will show as “Active”.
How to Use Your CheckSmart Luggage Tracker
TURN ON THE DEVICE
1. Press the red button in the center and hold for three to five seconds
until you see a red light. It will stay on for 10-15 seconds, then go out.
2. Within 10-15 seconds, the device will connect to the network.
The light will turn green, blink three to four times, then go out.
Your CheckSmart Luggage Tracker is now on. (Note: the blinking green light will
turn off after three to four blinks. This conserves battery power even though your
device is turned on and operating). When you want to check to see if your device
is ON, lightly press on the red button in the center of the device. If the green light
blinks, then your device is ON.
TO TURN OFF THE DEVICE
Hold the red button in the center down until the green light flashes three times, then goes out. Your CheckSmart Luggage
Tracker is now off.
TO USE THE DEVICE
1. Turn on your CheckSmart Luggage Tracker.
2. Place it anywhere in your packed luggage.
When unpacking your luggage, remember to turn off your CheckSmart Luggage Tracker. If the device will not be used
again in the near future, we recommend removing the batteries.
NotificatioNs
• The first time you turn on your CheckSmart Luggage Tracker, you will receive a test SMS (text) and/or email as you
selected during registration. This message will confirm that your device is working.
• Each time the CheckSmart Luggage Tracker arrives at an airport, you will receive an SMS (text) and/or email
notification advising you of the location of your device.
Installing the CheckSmart Luggage Tracker App / Bluetooth
The mobile app is supported on the following devices:
• iPhone 4S and higher that are running iOS 7 and higher. The Bluetooth 4.0 feature of the CheckSmart Luggage Tracker
will only work with iPhone 4S and higher.
• Android Devices with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and higher. The Bluetooth feature will only work with Android devices
that support Bluetooth 4.0 and are running Android 4.3 and higher.
INSTALLING THE APP
1. Search for the Victorinox CheckSmart Luggage Tracker app in Google Play or the Apple Store.
2. Click install and follow the instructions.
3. Login or register a new account.
a. If you are registering an account for the first time follow the instructions on the screen and add your devices
b. If you already have an account, you can activate a new device and set up your notifications using the app
4. You can also pair your mobile phone with your CheckSmart Luggage Tracker devices via Bluetooth. This feature
is used to detect your CheckSmart Luggage Tracker when it’s in near proximity to your mobile phone.
a. Click on the menu bar in the top right hand corner of the screen
b. Click on the “Setting” icon next to your device name
c. Make sure your Bluetooth connection is on
d. Choose a “Device Color” for your device
e. Click “Pair”
f. Find the CheckSmart Luggage Tracker device and click “Pair”, then “Close”
g. Go to the bottom of the screen and click “Save”
h. Click on the Bluetooth icon and you should now see the device on your screen
Battery HaNdliNg
DO NOT mix batteries with different chemistry types (for example, a zinc battery with an alkaline battery). Lithium ion
batteries should never be used. This device was designed for use with Duracell Alkaline AA batteries. Duracell Alkaline
AA batteries are the preferred battery type. DO NOT mix new and used batteries. DO NOT leave batteries installed in the
product when not in use for long periods of time. Always remove old, weak or worn-out batteries promptly and recycle or
dispose of them in accordance with local and national regulations.

• Cellular service must be present at your destination (i.e. airport) for service to function
• Each recipient selected for an SMS (text) notification must have cellular service in the coverage area
• It is important to maintain batteries power levels in the CheckSmart Luggage Tracker to ensure it has sufficient power
to receive cell tower signals. Each SMS (text) message contains an indicator of the battery strength.

• One device is needed per piece of luggage
• The CheckSmart Luggage Tracker uses cell towers to locate your luggage, not GPS
• Not recommended for use inside metal or aluminum luggage as material may inhibit cell tower connection
• There are no roaming fees on the CheckSmart Luggage Tracker device. Your mobile carrier may charge roaming
and/or text message fees.
• Victorinox Travel Gear AG does not guarantee your luggage will be available to you at baggage claim and is not respon-
sible for lost or mishandled luggage
• An internet connection is required to activate your CheckSmart Luggage Tracker device
• SMS (text) messages are scheduled for delivery by the serving cellular service provider, not by Victorinox Travel Gear
AG. Any delay in receiving the SMS (text) may be the result of the cellular service.
• If email notification has been selected a data connection is required to see the email. This is not a function of the
CheckSmart Luggage Tracker device, but rather the device you are using to see the email.
• CheckSmart Luggage Tracker is dependent on the worldwide database of cell tower information. If a new cell tower has
been added to serve an airport and not yet added to the database, the location look-up will fail.
• While Victorinox Travel Gear AG and the CheckSmart Luggage Tracker can provide valuable information to help you
find your luggage, responsibility for the arrival of your luggage at your final destination resides with the airline carrier to
whom you entrusted it.

Paramétrez votre CheckSmart Luggage Tracker
1. Appuyez sur le logo rouge de Victorinox et faites-le coulisser vers l’avant. La partie rouge de l’appareil sort de

2. Insérez deux piles.
3. Rendez-vous sur checksmart.victorinox.com pour activer votre CheckSmart Luggage Tracker.

5. Ouvrez une session si vous disposez déjà d’un compte. Sinon, sélectionnez «Créer un compte»
[«Create an Account»].
6. Une fois votre session ouverte, sélectionnez «Ajouter appareil» [«Add Device»].
7. Saisissez le numéro de série qui se trouve au dos de la partie rouge de l’appareil et suivez les étapes à l’écran.
Faites coulisser la partie rouge de l’appareil dans l’étui noir.
Remarque: si vous avez d’ores et déjà acquis un abonnement avec votre appareil, le système attribuera automatique-
ment l’abonnement et l’activation sera alors terminée.
8. Une fois la procédure achevée, l’appareil indiquera qu’il est actif.
Comment utiliser votre CheckSmart Luggage Tracker
POUR ALLUMER L’APPAREIL
1. Appuyez sur le bouton central rouge pendant trois à cinq secondes.
Une lumière rouge apparait pendant 10 à 15 secondes avant de s’éteindre.
2. L’appareil se connectera au réseau en l’espace de 10 à 15 secondes.
La lumière passera au vert, clignotera trois ou quatre fois avant de
s’éteindre à nouveau.
Votre CheckSmart Luggage Tracker est désormais allumé. (Remarque: la diode
verte s’éteindra après avoir clignoté trois ou quatre fois. Ceci permet d’économiser
les piles même lorsque votre appareil est allumé et fonctionne). Si vous souhaitez
vérifier que votre appareil est allumé, appuyez légèrement sur le bouton central rouge.
Votre appareil est activé lorsque la diode verte clignote.
POUR ÉTEINDRE L’APPAREIL
Appuyez sur le bouton central rouge jusqu’à ce que la diode verte clignote trois fois avant de s’éteindre.
Votre CheckSmart Luggage Tracker est désormais éteint.

1. Allumez votre CheckSmart Luggage Tracker.
2. Placez-le n’importe où dans votre bagage fait.
Pensez à éteindre votre CheckSmart Luggage Tracker lorsque vous déballez votre bagage. Si vous ne comptez pas
utiliser l’appareil dans un futur proche, nous vous recommandons d’enlever les piles.
NotificatioNs
• La première fois que vous allumez votre CheckSmart Luggage Tracker, vous recevrez un texto (sous forme texte) et/
ou un courriel de test, selon ce que vous avez choisi lors de l’activation. Ce message confirmera que votre appareil
fonctionne.
• Chaque fois que le CheckSmart Luggage Tracker arrive à un aéroport, vous recevrez une notification par texto
(sous forme texte) et/ou courriel vous indiquant l’emplacement de votre appareil.
Installation de l’application CheckSmart Luggage Tracker / Bluetooth
L’application mobile peut être utilisée sur les appareils suivants:
• iPhone 4S et supérieur sur iOS 7 et supérieur. Le dispositif Bluetooth 4.0 du CheckSmart Luggage Tracker fonctionne
uniquement à partir de l’iPhone 4S.
• Appareils Android avec Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) et supérieur. Le dispositif Bluetooth fonctionne uniquement avec les
appareils Android compatibles avec Bluetooth 4.0 et fonctionnant sur Android 4.3 au moins.
INSTALLER L’APPLICATION
1. Recherchez l’application CheckSmart Luggage Tracker de Victorinox sur Google Play ou sur Apple Store.
2. Cliquez sur installer et suivez les instructions.
3. Ouvrez une session ou créez un nouveau compte.
a. Si vous créez un compte pour la première fois, suivez les instructions sur l’écran et ajoutez vos appareils
b. Si vous avez déjà un compte, vous pouvez activer un nouvel appareil et définir les notifications à l’aide de
l’application
4. Vous pouvez également reliez votre téléphone mobile à votre CheckSmart Luggage Tracker via Bluetooth.
Votre téléphone pourra alors localiser votre CheckSmart Luggage Tracker dès qu’il se trouve à proximité.
a. Cliquez sur la barre de menus en haut à droit de l’écran
b. Cliquez sur l’icône «Paramètres» [«Setting»] à côté du nom de votre appareil
c. Assurez-vous que la connexion Bluetooth est activée
d. Sélectionnez une «Couleur de l’appareil» [«Device Color»] pour votre appareil
e. Cliquez sur «Relier» [«Pair»]
f. Allez sur le CheckSmart Luggage Tracker et cliquez sur «Relier» [«Pair»] puis sur «Fermer» [«Close»]
g. Rendez-vous ensuite au bas de votre écran et cliquez sur «Enregistrer» [«Save»]
h. Cliquez sur l’icône Bluetooth; vous devriez maintenant voir l’appareil sur votre écran
maNipulatioN des piles
NE mélangez PAS différentes sortes de piles (par exemple des piles au zinc avec des piles alcalines). N’utilisez jamais
de piles au lithium-ion. Cet appareil est conçu pour fonctionner avec des piles alcalines AA Duracell. Nous préconisons
l’utilisation de piles alcalines AA Duracell comme type de pile. NE mélangez PAS des piles neuves avec des piles usagées.
NE laissez PAS les piles dans l’appareil lorsque celui-ci reste inutilisé sur de longues périodes. Retirez toujours rapide-
ment les piles vieilles, faibles ou vides et recyclez-les ou éliminez-les conformément aux dispositions locales et nationales.

• Le service ne fonctionne que si votre destination (p.ex. l’aéroport) dispose d’un réseau de téléphonie mobile
• Tout destinataire ayant sélectionné d’être notifié par texto (sous forme texte) doit se situer au sein d’un réseau de
téléphonie mobile
• Il est important que le niveau de charge des piles utilisées dans le CheckSmart Luggage Tracker soit suffisant pour
être en mesure de réceptionner les signaux de téléphonie mobile. Le niveau des piles est indiqué dans chaque texto
(sous forme texte).

• Pour localiser votre bagage, le CheckSmart Luggage Tracker utilise les signaux de téléphonie mobile et non GPS
• Il n’est pas recommandé d’utiliser l’appareil à l’intérieur d’un bagage en métal ou en aluminium car le matériau pour-
rait brouiller les signaux de téléphonie mobile
• Le CheckSmart Luggage Tracker n’entraîne aucun frais de roaming. Votre fournisseur de téléphonie peut toutefois
vous facturer des frais de roaming et/ou de textos.
• Victorinox Travel Gear AG ne garantit pas que vous puissiez récupérer votre bagage dans la zone de retrait des
bagages et n’est pas responsable de bagages perdus ou endommagés
• Une connexion Internet est nécessaire pour activer votre CheckSmart Luggage Tracker
• Les textos (sous forme texte) sont envoyés par l’exploitant du réseau de téléphonie mobile et non par Victorinox Travel
Gear AG. Tout retard de réception du texto (sous forme texte) est imputable au service de téléphonie mobile.
• Si vous avez choisi d’être notifié par courriel, une connexion de données sera nécessaire. Le CheckSmart Luggage
Tracker ne met pas cette fonction à disposition, mais bien plus l’appareil que vous utilisez pour consulter le courriel.
• Le CheckSmart Luggage Tracker dépend de la banque de données mondiales des cellules de téléphonie mobile. Si
une nouvelle cellule a été ajoutée à proximité d’un aéroport mais n’est pas encore listée dans la banque de données,
la localisation échouera.
• Victorinox Travel Gear AG et le CheckSmart Luggage Tracker peuvent certes vous fournir des informations utiles pour
vous aider à trouver votre bagage. Toutefois, la responsabilité de l’arrivée de votre bagage à votre destination finale
incombe à la compagnie aérienne aux soins de laquelle vous l’avez remis.

Einrichten des CheckSmart Luggage Tracker
1. Drücken Sie auf das rote Victorinox-Logo und schieben Sie es nach vorne, um das Gerät zu öffnen.
2. Legen Sie die beiden Batterien ein.
3. Rufen Sie die Adresse checksmart.victorinox.com auf, um den CheckSmart Luggage Tracker zu aktivieren.

5. Wenn Sie bereits einen Account besitzen, loggen Sie sich ein. Wenn nicht, wählen Sie “Account anlegen“
[“Create an Account”].
6. Sobald Sie eingeloggt sind, wählen Sie “Gerät hinzufügen” [“Add Device”].
7. Geben Sie die Seriennummer auf der Rückseite des roten Innengehäuses ein und folgen Sie den Anweisungen
auf dem Bildschirm. Schieben Sie das rote Innengehäuse wieder in die schwarze Aussenhülle zurück.
Hinweis: Wenn Sie mit Ihrem Gerät bereits ein Abonnementpaket erworben haben, weist das System das Abo
automatisch zu und die Aktivierung ist damit abgeschlossen.
8. Sobald der Prozess abgeschlossen ist, meldet das Gerät, dass es “aktiv” ist.
Verwenden des CheckSmart Luggage Tracker
GERÄT EINSCHALTEN
1. Halten Sie den roten Knopf in der Mitte drei bis fünf Sekunden gedrückt,
bis ein rotes Licht erscheint. Es erlischt nach 10 -15 Sekunden.
2. Das Gerät verbindet sich Innerhalb von 10 - 15 Sekunden mit dem Netzwerk.
Dabei wechselt das Licht von rot nach grün, blinkt drei oder vier Mal und erlischt.
Ihr CheckSmart Luggage Tracker ist jetzt eingeschaltet. (Hinweis: aus Energiespargründen
blinkt das grüne Licht nur drei bis vier Mal und erlischt dann. Das Gerät ist dennoch
eingeschaltet und betriebsbereit). Wenn Sie wissen möchten, ob das Gerät eingeschaltet
ist, drücken Sie den roten Knopf in der Mitte des Geräts. Wenn das grüne Licht blinkt,
ist das Gerät eingeschaltet.
GERÄT AUSSCHALTEN
Halten Sie den roten Knopf in der Mitte gedrückt, bis das grüne Licht dreimal blinkt und erlischt. Ihr CheckSmart
Luggage Tracker ist jetzt ausgeschaltet.
VERWENDEN DES GERÄTS
1. Schalten Sie Ihren CheckSmart Luggage Tracker ein.
2. Verstauen Sie ihn in Ihrem gepackten Koffer.
Vergessen Sie nicht, Ihren CheckSmart Luggage Tracker beim Auspacken auszuschalten. Wenn Sie das Gerät für längere
Zeit nicht verwenden möchten, sollten Sie die Batterien herauszunehmen.

• Beim ersten Einschalten Ihres CheckSmart Luggage Tracker, erhalten Sie eine Test-SMS (Text) und/oder eine E-Mail
(entsprechend Ihrer Auswahl bei der Registrierung). Diese Nachricht gilt als Bestätigung, dass das Gerät betriebsbe-
reit ist.
• Sobald der CheckSmart Luggage Tracker an einem Flughafen eintrifft, erhalten Sie per SMS (Text) und/oder E-Mail
eine Benachrichtigung, in der Sie auf den Standort Ihres Geräts hingewiesen werden.
Installieren der CheckSmart Luggage Tracker App / Bluetooth
Die Handy-App wird von den folgenden Geräten unterstützt:
• iPhone 4S und höher mit dem Betriebssystem iOS 7 und höher. Die Bluetooth 4.0 Funktion des CheckSmart Luggage
Tracker funktioniert nur mit dem iPhone 4S und höher.
• Android-Geräte mit Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) und höher. Die Bluetooth-Funktion funktioniert nur mit Android-
Geräten, die Bluetooth 4.0 unterstützen und mit Android 4.3 und höher laufen.
INSTALLIEREN DER APP
1. Suchen Sie die Victorinox CheckSmart Luggage Tracker App in Google Play oder im Apple Store.
2. Klicken Sie auf Installieren und folgen Sie den Anweisungen.
3. Loggen Sie sich ein oder legen Sie einen neuen Account an.
a. Wenn Sie das erste Mal einen Account anlegen, folgen Sie den Anweisungen auf dem Bildschirm und fügen
Sie Ihre Geräte hinzu
b. Wenn Sie bereits einen Account haben, können Sie ein neues Gerät aktivieren und die gewünschte Form der
Benachrichtigung eingeben
4. Es besteht auch die Möglichkeit, das Handy mittels Bluetooth mit dem CheckSmart Luggage Tracker zu verbinden.
Damit kann das Gerät geortet werden, wenn es sich in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Handy befindet.
a. Klicken Sie auf die Menüleiste in der rechten oberen Ecke des Bildschirms
b. Klicken Sie auf das Icon “Einstellungen” [“Setting”] neben dem Gerätenamen
c. Achten Sie darauf, dass Ihre Bluetooth-Verbindung aktiviert ist
d. Wählen Sie eine “Gerätefarbe” [“Device Color”] für Ihr Gerät
e. Klicken Sie auf “Verbinden” [“Pair”]
f. Suchen Sie das Smart Luggage Tracker Gerät, klicken Sie auf “Verbinden” [“Pair“] und auf “Schliessen” [“Close”]
g. Gehen Sie zum Ende des Bildschirms und klicken Sie auf “Sichern” [“Save”]
h. Wenn Sie jetzt auf das Bluetooth-Icon klicken, sollte das Gerät auf dem Bildschirm erscheinen
BatterieN
KEINE unterschiedlichen Batterietypen mischen (z.B. Zink- und Alkaline-Batterien). Lithium-Ionen-Akkus dürfen
grundsätzlich nicht verwendet werden. Das Gerät wurde für den Einsatz mit Duracell Alkaline AA Batterien entwickelt.
Bevorzugter Batterientyp sind Duracell Alkaline AA Batterien. KEINE neuen und gebrauchten Batterien mischen. Batter-
ien herausnehmen, wenn das Gerät längere Zeit nicht verwendet wird. Alte, schwache oder verbrauchte Batterien immer
sofort entfe rnen und entsprechend der lokalen und nationalen Bestimmungen recyceln oder entsorgen.

• Der Service funktioniert nur, wenn am Zielort (z.B. Flughafen) ein Mobilfunknetz verfügbar ist
• Jeder für eine SMS- (Text) Benachrichtigung ausgewählte Empfänger muss sich in einem Mobilfunknetz befinden
• Es ist wichtig, dass der Ladezustand der Batterien im CheckSmart Luggage Tracker ausreicht, um Signale aus dem
Mobilfunk-netz zu erhalten. Jede SMS- (Text) Nachricht enthält eine Ladestandsanzeige.
ZusätZlicHe HaftuNgsausscHlüsse
• Pro Gepäckstück wird ein Gerät benötigt
• Der CheckSmart Luggage Tracker verwendet Mobilfunksignale statt GPS-Signalen zum Orten des Gepäcks
• Nicht empfohlen für den Einsatz in Metall- oder Aluminiumkoffern, da diese Materialien Funksignale abschirmen
• Für den CheckSmart Luggage Tracker selbst fallen keine Roaming-Gebühren an. Ihr Provider kann Ihnen aber Roam-
ing- und/oder SMS-Gebühren in Rechnung stellen.
• Die Victorinox Travel Gear AG übernimmt keine Garantie, dass Ihr Gepäck an der Gepäckausgabe bereit steht und ist
nicht verantwortlich für verloren gegangenes oder falsch aufgegebenes Gepäck
• Zum Aktivieren Ihres CheckSmart Luggage Tracker ist eine Internetverbindung erforderlich
• SMS- (Text) Nachrichten werden vom Netzbetreiber versendet, nicht von der Victorinox Travel Gear AG. Jede Verzöger-
ung beim Erhalt der SMS- (Text) Nachricht sind auf den Mobilfunkdienst zurückzuführen.
• Wenn die Option E-Mail-Benachrichtigung gewählt wurde, ist eine Datenverbindung zum Anzeigen der E-Mail
erforderlich. Diese Funktion stellt nicht CheckSmart Luggage Tracker zur Verfügung, sondern das Gerät, mit dem Sie
die E-Mail betrachten.
• CheckSmart Luggage Tracker ist abhängig von der weltweiten Datenbank für Funkzellen. Wenn eine neue Funkzelle
zur Abdeckung eines Flughafens eingerichtet, aber noch nicht in die Datenbank eingefügt wurde, kann der Standort
nicht ermittelt werden.

Ajuste de su CheckSmart Luggage Tracker

Cómo utilizar CheckSmart Luggage Tracker
ENCENDER EL DISPOSITIVO
1. Pulse y mantenga apretado el botón rojo en el centro del dispositivo durante
tres a cinco segundos, hasta que se encienda una luz roja. La luz permanecerá
encendida 10-15 segundos y después se apagará.
2. En 10-15 segundos el dispositivo se conectará con la red. La luz verde se
encenderá, parpadeará tres o cuatro veces y después de apagará.
Su CheckSmart Luggage Tracker está conectado. (Observación: la luz verde se apagará
tras parpadear de tres a cuatro veces. Esto permite ahorrar energía de las pilas, incluso
si su dispositivo está conectado y funcionando). Si desea verificar si su dispositivo está
conectado, presione suavemente el botón rojo en el centro del dispositivo. Si la luz verde
parpadea, su dispositivo está conectado.
APAGAR EL DISPOSITIVO
Mantenga apretado el botón rojo en el centro del dispositivo hasta que la luz verde parpadee tres veces y se apague.
Su CheckSmart Luggage Tracker está desconectado.
USO DEL DISPOSITIVO
1. Encienda su CheckSmart Luggage Tracker.
2. Colóquelo en cualquier lugar de su equipaje facturado.
Antes de abrir su equipaje, no se olvide de desconectar el CheckSmart Luggage Tracker. Si no tiene previsto utilizar el
dispositivo próximamente, le recomendamos retirar las pilas.
