INTRODUCTION
The Dual-Force Vac pull liquid into and emptie liquid from a ealed 55 gallon drum. The compre ed air powered
pump i u ed for handling ludge, u ed coolant (complete with metal chip ), hydraulic oil, tramp oil or olvent .
Liquid can be pulled from milling machine , lathe , EDM machine , ump , part wa her , open pit or chemical
proce e , etc.
COMPRESSED AIR SUPPLY
The compre ed air upply mu t be filtered (5 micron maximum) to remove water and dirt. Vortec’ #701S-24A
Compre ed Air Filter i upplied for thi purpo e. If oil i pre ent in the compre ed air upply, remove the oil u ing a
0.01 micron (maximum) air filter. U e Vortec oil filter #701S-48, old eparately. Change filter element a needed.
Operating pre ure at the Dual-Force Vac hould be 60 to 100 PSIG.
NOTE: D n t exceed air supply pressures ver 100 PSIG when perating the Dual-F rce Vac.

WARNING / DANGER
COMPRESSED AIR COULD CAUSE DEATH, BLINDNESS OR INJURY.
1. The clo ed head teel drum mu t be in "a new" condition and meet the requirement of UN1A1/X1.8/300.
2. Operating the Dual-F rce Vac at c mpressed air pressures ab ve 60 PSIG requires the use f a drum c nsisting entirely f 16 gauge
steel r str nger.
3. Do not operate the Dual-Force Vac at compre ed air pre ure above 100 PSIG (6.9 Bar).
4. Do not operate the Dual-Force Vac at line temperature above 110°F (43°C).
5. DANGER: D n t perate the Dual-F rce Vac with flammable r v latile liquids such as gas line, alc h l, ker sene, aviati n fuel,
mineral spirits r any material that has a l w flash p int.
6. Do not operate the Dual-Force Vac without the gold cap a embly in place ecured by the three crew . Operating without the three
crew in place could re ult in a hazardou ituation.
7. Do not operate the Dual-Force Vac without the float valve a embly in talled between the pump body and the drum.
8. Do not re trict or block the di charge flow of liquid out of the conveying ho e.
9. Avoid direct contact with compre ed air; do not direct compre ed air at any per on.
10. When u ing compre ed air, wear afety gla e with ide hield .

INSTALLATION
Remove the top mounted 2” and ¾” bung plug from the clo ed head teel drum. The cu tomer- upplied drum mu t
meet UN1A1/X1.8/300 pecification and be con tructed entirely of 16 gauge teel or tronger.
1. In tall the Dual-Force Vac
pump into the ¾” bung hole in the drum. The lower tainle teel float valve portion
of the pump rotate independently of the top part of the pump. Thi aid in the in tallation of the pump, or
when moving the pump from drum to drum without having to di connect the air upply ho e. U e a 1
1/8
"
open-end wrench to tighten the lower portion of the pump onto the drum. The top part of the pump i now free
to rotate o the ball valve can be po itioned in the mo t convenient location.
2. Attach the compre ed air filter (#701S-24A) to the Dual-Force pump u ing the pipe fitting upplied. (Air flow arrow
mu t point to the Dual-Force pump.)
3. Connect your compre ed air upply ho e (3/8" in ide diameter minimum) to the compre ed air filter (3/8” NPT).
4. In tall the 36" long aluminum evacuation tube into the 2" bung hole. Carefully crew the black polypropylene
fitting at the end of the tube into the hole in the drum.
5. Attach the cam-lever coupling on the 10' long conveying ho e to the black polypropylene fitting on the drum.
Be ure both lever are engaged in the up po ition and that the conveying ho e i ecurely attached to the drum.
6. Fit the 19" wand into the cuffed end of the conveying ho e.
FILLING THE DRUM
1. Rotate the knob on top of the pump counter-clockwi e 1/4 turn until the knob pop up.
2. Open the bra ball valve to operate the unit. Immer e the end of the wand into the liquid to be picked up.
3. The top of the drum will “pop” inward a the vacuum i created and the liquid tart to fill the drum. A the
drum reache maximum capacity, the float valve on the pump will i olate the drum interior from the Dual-Force
Vac and the liquid flow will top. A mall amount of liquid may be expelled out the bottom of the Dual-Force
Vac before the float valve completely clo e . Shut off the bra ball valve to top the compre ed air flow.
EMPTYING THE DRUM
1. Pu h the knob on the top of the pump down and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwi e until it lock in po ition.
2. Be ure the conveying ho e i ecurely attached to the drum fitting.
DO NOT RESTRICT OR IN ANY WAY BLOCK THE FLOW OF LIQUID FROM THE CONVEYING HOSE.
3. Slowly open the bra ball valve.
4. The top of the drum will “pop” outward a the drum i pre urized and liquid tart to flow from the
conveying ho e. The drum i pre urized to a maximum of 8 PSIG and i held at thi pre ure by the pre ure
relief valve.
5. To top operation, clo e the bra ball valve and lowly rotate the knob on top of the Dual-Force Vac to the
“FILL” po ition. Thi will aid in venting re idual pre ure in the drum and top the flow of liquid.
CLEANING THE DUAL-FORCE VAC PUMP ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the Dual-Force Vac from the drum and remove the compre ed air filter.
2. Turn the knob to the “FILL” po ition.
3. With a 9/16" open-end wrench, un crew the bra pipe nipple and ball valve from the ide of the pump. Remove
the 3 houlder crew .
4. Lift the cap a embly off the pump body, and pull the float valve a embly from the bottom of the pump.
5. Un crew the hex barrel from the pump body.
6. Remove the three-lobed centering ring and rubber pacer. Carefully remove the red and/or green him from
the hex barrel.
7. Thoroughly clean the part in olvent and dry with compre ed air.
8. The float valve a embly and the cap a embly hould be in pected. Verify that the float move freely in ide
the tainle teel guide tube and that the O-ring i attached to the float.
9. The guide rod hould move freely in the cap a embly (approximately 39/64" axial travel) and the poppet
hould move freely on the guide rod (approximately 27/32" axial travel).

10. In pect the him( ) removed from the hex barrel.
Replace them if they are damaged. (Green=.003" thick, Red=.002" thick)
