Thank you for purchasing the 7 Liter Metro Personal Fridge/Warmer by Wagan
Tech. With minimal care and proper treatment it will provide years of reliable
service. Carefully read and comply with all operating instructions before use. Keep
this User’s Manual for future use.
Introduction
The Wagan Tech Metro Personal Fridge/Warmer is designed to keep cold foods
and beverages conveniently available in your home, dorm, vehicle, RV, vessel or in
the field. The Fridge is supplied with a DC Power Cord so it can be operated from
a variety of power sources. The Fridge can also be used to warm foods on the road
or in the home. In the field, the Wagan Tech Metro Personal Fridge can be powered
from a Wagan Tech jump starter.
For best results, the Fridge should be operated on COOL for 30 minutes before
placing cold food in the pre-cooled unit. Similarly place the unit in WARM mode and
operate for 30 minutes so that warm foods are placed in a warm unit.
GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The following safety instructions should always be followed to reduce the risk of
electrical shock, personal injury or fire.
• This product must only be used as intended in accordance with these
operating instructions.
• Do not operate this appliance if the cord or plug becomes damaged. Either
replace the cord or have it repaired by a qualified person.
• If the appliance stops unexpectedly or malfunctions, turn off the power and
unplug the unit.
• Avoid positioning the appliance where the power cord might become
accidentally damaged.
• Keep the appliance and cord away from sources of heat, sharp objects or
anything that may cause physical damage.
• Do not close doors on the power cord. This may damage the cord and cause
a short circuit.
• Children should use this product under the guidance of a responsible person.
• Never allow the appliance power jack or the plug to come into contact with
water or any other liquid.
• Never reach for any powered appliance that has fallen into water.
Disconnect from power before retrieving the unit from water. Do not re-use
until the product is thoroughly dried. Before use have the unit inspected by
a qualified person.
• Always ensure that hands are dry before operating or adjusting any switch
or touching the plug.
• Do not cover or block ventilation openings.
• Do not drop or insert objects into ventilation openings.
• Be aware that interior surfaces may become warm.
California Prop. 65 Warning: Handling the cord on this product will expose you
to lead, a chemical known to the State of California to cause [cancer, and] birth
defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling.
Controls, Indicators, and Connections
The COOL/OFF/WARM Switch and green COOL and red WARM LED indicators
are located in the CONTROL PANEL area. The DC 12V jack for connecting to the
DC power cord is located on the left side of the Control Panel.
WARNING: Switch off the fridge/warmer and wait for 30 minutes before
switching again from cool to hot or vice versa.

Optional AC to DC Converter
The optional AC to DC Converter provides 12 volts DC to power the Fridge
wherever AC is available. The optional converter is able to be powered from 110
to 240V AC, 50 to 60 Hz. The optional converter cord is equipped with a North
American Standard three pin plug.
Assembly Instructions
IN A CAR, RV OR VESSEL OR PORTABLE DC POWER SUPPLY
Make sure the Cooler/Warmer is positioned so that it will not slide and it has
unobstructed flow of air around the ventilation openings.
1. Ensure that the switch is set to OFF before connecting the power supply.
2. Insert the power cord connector into the DC 12V jack in the cooler.
3. Secure the cooler in place and insert the other end of the DC power cord
into the cigarette lighter socket (accessory socket).
4. Switch functions:
• OFF: Both lights will be off and the unit will not cool or warm.
• COOL: Cooling begins and the green LED will light.
• WARM: Warming begins and the red LED will light.
Operating Instructions
1. Open the door of the cable compartment on the cooler and take out the
power cord.
2. Make sure the Cool/Warm selector switch is in the OFF position.
3. Start the car engine.
4. Plug the power cord into the 12V cigarette lighter outlet firmly.
5. Select whether the heating function or the cooling function is going to
be used.
6. The LED indicator light - Red light for warming and Green light for cooling.
7. Place items inside the storage container and close the fridge cover.
Important Operating Conditions to Note
• While in use, always ensure the rear of the fridge is at least two inches
away from walls or other objects to allow for ventilation.
• Only power the fridge with 12V DC or from the optional converter.
• Remove any debris or oxidation from the lighter socket before connecting
the fridge. Clean the outlet with a non-conductive dry cloth.
• Avoid use in locations where dust or other airborne contamination may be
drawn into the fan.
• The cooler must not be exposed to rain or excessive moisture.
Using the Cooler Where AC is Available
Follow all operating instructions as described earlier. Connect the Fridge DC
power cord plug to the DC outlet of the optional converter. Plug the AC cord of the
optional converter into the AC outlet. Follow all safety precautions related to cord
placement. To disconnect the optional converter from AC, first turn the Fridge OFF
before removing the AC plug from the outlet.
Maintenance Instructions
Cleaning should be done after food spills, or before storing the cooler.
WARNING:
• Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. These may damage the
finish.
• Do not use chemicals or solvents for cleaning (bleach, alcohol, etc.).
• Do not immerse the unit in water.
• Always clean the cooler interior before storing.
• Store the optional AC converter and DC power cords inside the Fridge to
prevent their misplacement.
1. Before cleaning the cooler, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply.
2. Wipe the inside with a clean, damp cloth. Use a mild soap with water if
necessary.

Moving/Storage/Proper Disposal
Portability of this product is generally safe. When storing this product, please ensure
that it is stored in a cool, dry place that is free of moisture and excessive amounts
of dust. If your fridge requires replacement or is of no further use, please think of
protecting the environment. All electrical appliances contain materials that can be
dangerous to the environment if improperly disposed of. Contact you local authority
for advice, as many have facilities for environmentally safe disposal. Keep in mind
that this product may require special disposal procedures and methods to be taken,
and should not be thrown out along with regular waste.

Warranty Duration: This product is warranted to the original purchaser for a period of one
(1) Year from the original purchase date, to be free of defects in material and workmanship.
WAGAN Corporation disclaims any liability for consequential damages. In no event will
WAGAN Corporation be responsible for any amount of damages beyond the amount paid
for the product at retail. In the event of a defective item, please contact WAGAN Corporation
at (800) 231-5806 to obtain a Returned Merchandise Authorization number (RMA#),
and return instructions. Each item returned will require a separate RMA#. After you have
received the RMA# and the return instructions from WAGAN Corporation, please follow
the instructions and send the item with PREPAID SHIPPING, along with all of the required
documentation, a complete explanation of the problem, your name, address and daytime
phone number. WAGAN Corporation will, at its option, replace or repair the defective part.
A Returned Merchandise Authorization number (RMA#) is REQUIRED when sending in any
defective item. WAGAN Corporation is not responsible for any item(s) returned without
an official Returned Merchandise Authorization number. The item(s) must be returned with
prepaid shipping. WAGAN Corporation is not responsible for any shipping charges incurred
in returning the item(s) back to the company for repair or replacement. This warranty is
void if the product has been damaged by accident, in shipment, unreasonable use, misuse,
neglect, improper service, commercial use, repairs by unauthorized personnel or other causes
not arising out of defects in materials or workmanship. This warranty is effective only if the
product is purchased and operated in the USA and does not extend to any units which have
been used in violation of written instructions furnished.
Warranty Disclaimers: This warranty is in lieu of all warranties expressed or implied and no
representative or person is authorized to assume any other liability in connection with the
sale of our products. There shall be no claims for defects or failure of performance or product
failure under any theory of tort, contract or commercial law including, but not limited to
negligence, gross negligence, strict liability, breach of warranty and breach of contract.
Warranty Performance: During the above one (1) Year warranty period, a product with a
defect will be replaced with a comparable model when the product is returned to WAGAN
Corporation with an original store receipt. The replacement product will be in warranty for
the balance of the one (1) Year warranty period.
