Product Overview
Wheelers’ Paramill is a patented treadmill technology designed for wheelchair users—from the
sedentary to the athletic and to those in SCI rehabilitation. The experience of a powerful cardio

performed in a forward motion can also be performed in a backward motion. By using the backward
motion the person exercising can strengthen his or her core and back muscles.
Did you know that your Wheeler’s Paramill wheelchair-accessible treadmill qualifies as ADA
compliant? This is important since Article 236.1 of the ADA states that each type of exercise machine
must be ADA compliant. Use this to your advantage to help generate additional revenue for your

Performing a Workout
Task 1: Clamping the Wheelchair
There are three (3) types of clamps that secure the wheelchair to the Paramill and keep it from moving
left to right or forward and backward. They include
1. Red handle sliding bar clamps (highlighted in red)
2. Interior clamps (highlighted in yellow—illustrating one
of the two sides), and
3. Exterior clamps (highlighted in yellow/blue—
illustrating both sides).
Option: Go to the bottom of the monitor’s Home
screen, and access the Instructional Video that
demonstrates how to clamp in the wheelchair.
Step Action Illustration
1IMPORTANT: Make sure the interior and exterior clamps (two on each side) are in the up
position before entering the Paramill.
Note: The interior clamps allow the clamping box to move left and right, and exterior clamps
allow the sliding bars to move forward and backward.
While seated in your wheelchair, roll up the ramp facing the monitor.
2• Place the back two wheels of your chair in the
groove above the rollers.
• Center yourself in the middle of the Paramill.
3 Open the red-handled clamps.

6
Step Action Illustration
4• Grab one red-handled sliding bar clamp (left
or right)
• Clamp it to the frame of your wheelchair at
the lowest point possible, and
• Make sure it is at a downward angle.
5 If the clamp is not snug, use the black-star knob
to adjust the clamp to a firm grip.
6 Once the red-handle sliding bar clamp securing
the frame is in the right place, clamp both the
interior and exterior clamps.
Note: There are a total of four (4) interior and
exterior clamps, two (2) on the left side and two
(2) on the right side.
7 Repeat steps 3–5 to secure opposite side of the wheelchair.

7
Task 2: Turning On the Monitor and Selecting a Workout
The monitors are available in two sizes—a 10-inch or an 18-inch. Both screens contain the same
functions, except the 18-inch monitor includes a feature to watch television while exercising. This
section describes how to operate the monitor.
Reference: For details on the 18-inch monitor’s television feature, refer to Task 4: Playing Media.

• Target Heart Rate.
Note: The Target Heart Rate option requires the additional purchase of a Heart Rate
Monitor (Polar T31 Transmitter and Belt) in order to work.
Note: The screens in this manual may vary from those found on your Paramill.
4 You will be prompted to
• Tap Yes if the wheelchair is locked in. Verify this by ensuring the clamps
o cannot move left or right
o cannot move forward or backward, and
o are tightly attached to the wheelchair frame?
Result: You will feel a slight raise under your wheels to prepare for the workout.
