Rack Panel Kit Instructions
Model RPK 004 Single Rack Panel Kit
For use with Williams Sound T17/T17-6 Transmitters
PARTS CHECKLIST
(1) Rack Panel Bracket
(1) Rack Cover Plate
(1) Plastic Top Bezel
(4) #10 - 1/2" Phillips Drive Rack Mount Screws
(4) #8 - Nylon Finishing Washers
(2) #6 x 3/8" Phillips Drive Cover Plate Screws
(2) #6 - 32 Nuts
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
FOR 1 TRANSMITTER:
Step 1: Remove the two #6 x 3/4" Phillips head screws
on the front of the transmitter and remove the
plastic bezel.
Step 2: Position the new plastic bezel supplied over the
first opening in the rack panel as shown. Make
sure the openings in the rack panel are towards
the bottom as shown. The new bezel is marked
with a yellow dot.
Step 3: Insert the #6 x 3/4" Phillips head screws
removed from the transmitter through the new
bezel and rack panel.
Step 4: Position the Transmitter behind the rack panel
as shown and thread the mounting screws into
the transmitter case to secure the transmitter to
the rack panel. Do not overtighten the screws.
Step 5: Remove the front label from the old bezel by
pushing it from behind with a pencil eraser
through one of the covered openings.
Carefully peel the label off the old bezel and
press it into place on the front of the transmit-
ter. Make sure the holes align properly.
Step 6: Install the Rack Cover over the remaining
openings in the rack panel with the #6 x 3/8"
screws and #6-32 nuts supplied, as shown in
the drawing.
Step 7: Use the four #10 rack mount screws and #8
nylon finishing washers to attach the rack panel
to the rails of your rack enclosure.
FOR 2 TRANSMITTERS:
Step 1: Follow steps 1–5 above for each transmitter.
Step 2: Snap off the end panel (marked #1 on the
drawing) on the cover plate at the break line
and use the remaining two panels to cover the
remaining two panel openings.
Step 3: Follow steps 6 and 7, above.
FOR 3 TRANSMITTERS:
Step 1: Follow steps 1–5 above for each transmitter.
Step 2: Snap off two panels (marked #1 and #2 on the
drawing) on the cover plate at the break line
and use the single plate to cover the last panel
opening.
Step 3: Follow steps 6 and 7, above.
FOR 4 TRANSMITTERS:
Step 1: Follow steps 1–5 above for each transmitter.
Step 2: Discard the cover plate.
Step 3: Follow steps 6 and 7, above.
Note: When using the transmitter in a rack mount,
the remote antenna (ANT 005) must be used.
