Quick Start Guide

IMPORTANT: A Cell Phone Cable Ada ter (sold se arately) is required to connect to a cell hone.
1. Use the a ro riate Cell Phone Cable Ada ter (sold se arately) to connect
the XLINK cable ort to your cell hone.
2. Plug a tele hone into the tele hone ort using the su lied tele hone cable.
3. Plug the su lied ower ada ter into the ower ort.
4. The USB ort* can be used to u date the software and configure the unit
using the XWizard software available on the website. USB Cable not included.
The green status light on the front of the unit indicates cell hone connection status:
- Flashing: Searching for cell hone. - Steady: Cell hone connected

Operation
- To make an outgoing call ick u the hone connected to the XLINK, listen for dial tone and then dial
the hone number.
- To answer an incoming cell hone call wait for the tele hone to start ringing and then icku the
receiver.
- Only some cell hones will rovide Caller ID information to the XLINK.
- Many fli ty e cell hones need to be o en to function correctly.
- The XLINK may not be able to charge a very low cell hone battery. In this case use the cell hone
charger before connecting the cell hone to the XLINK.
Advanced Setup and Configuration
Please visit the roduct website www.myxlink.com/q to download the XWizard software and
country/a lication s ecific configuration files. These tools will allow the fine tuning of many settings
including: line reversal and olarity, dialing time, tones and alerts, tele hone im edance and many
more.
Calling 911
Calling 911 using a cell hone works differently then calling 911 on a land line. In order for a call to 911
emergency services to be able to rovide your exact location, E911 services must be de loyed in your
area and you must have a GPS enabled and activated cell hone. See your cell hone owner’s manual
to determine if your cell hone has that feature and make sure that the feature is activated.
Cell Interference
Some cell hones have owerful radios that can cause noise in your conversation. To avoid this
interference, lace your cell hone as far away as ractical from both the XLINK and from the corded or
cordless tele hones.

Safety and Regulatory
When using the XLINK, follow these basic safety recautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and ersonal injury:
1. Read the entire manual and understand all instructions.
2. Never connect this unit to an active telephone line. This unit is not designed to operate on the public telephone network and
should never be connected to the public telephone network.
3. Un lug this unit from wall outlets before cleaning. Do not clean the unit with liquid or aerosol cleansers. Use a dry or slightly dam cloth
for cleaning.
4. Do not use this unit near water. For exam le: near a bathtub, kitchen sink, bathroom sink, ool, etc.
5. Never lace this unit near radiators or near a lace where ro er ventilation is not guaranteed.
6. Use only this ower source su lied with this unit.
7. Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords as this can result in the risk of fire or electric shock.
8. Do not disassemble this unit. Take it to a qualified serviceman when service or re air is required. O ening or removing covers may
ex ose you to dangerous voltages or other risks.
9. Do not use this unit to re ort a gas leak in the vicinity of this unit.
10.Avoid using this roduct during an electrical storm.
11.Un lug this unit from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service ersonnel under the following conditions:
a) When the ower su ly cord or lug is damaged or frayed.
b) If the roduct has been ex osed to rain or water or other liquid.
c) If the roduct housing has been damaged.
d) If the roduct exhibits a distinct change in erformance.

This unit has been tested and found to com ly with the limits for a Class B digital device as s ecified in Part 15 of the FCC rules. These
limits rovide reasonable rotection against radio and TV interference in a residential area. However, your equi ment might cause TV or
radio interference even when o erating ro erly. To eliminate interference, try one or more of the following corrective measures:
• Reorient or relocate the radio or TV
• Increase the distance between the equi ment and the radio or TV
• Use outlets on different electrical circuits for the equi ment and the radio or TV
