re erence. Should the appliance be sold or trans erred to another owner, or should you move house and

Installation
• This appliance is heavy. Care shoul be taken when
moving it.
• It is angerous to alter the specifications or attempt
to mo ify this pro uct in any way.
• Care must be taken to ensure that the appliance
oes not stan on the electrical supply cable.
Important: if the supply cable is amage , it must
be replace by a special cable available from your
local Service Force Centre.
• Any electrical work require to install this appliance
shoul be carrie out by a qualifie electrician or
competent person.
• Parts which heat up shoul not be expose .
Whenever possible, the back of the appliance
shoul be close to a wall but leaving the require
istance for ventilation as state in the installation
instructions.
• The appliance shoul be left for 2 hours after
installation before it is turne on, in or er to allow
the refrigerant to settle.
Child Sa ety
• Do not allow chil ren to tamper with the controls or
play with the pro uct.
• Keep all packaging well away from chil ren.
General Sa ety
• This appliance contains hydrocarbons in its
cooling unit; maintenance and recharging must
there ore only be carried out by authorized
technicians.
• Take utmost care when handling your appliance
so as not to cause any damages to the cooling
unit with consequent possible luid leakages.
•The appliance must not be located close to
cookers, radiators or boilers.
•Avoid prolonged exposure o the appliance to
direct sunlight.
•Do not use other electrical appliances (such as
ice cream makers) inside o re rigerating
appliances.
During Use
• This appliance is esigne for omestic use only,
specifically for the storage of e ible foo stuffs.
• Frozen foo must NOT be re-frozen once it has
thawe out.
• Do not place carbonate or fizzy rinks in the
freezer.
• Do not remove items from the freezer if your
han s are amp/wet, as this coul cause skin
abrasions or frost/freezer burns.
• Ice lollies can cause ‘frost/freezer burns’ if
consume straight from the freezer.
• Manufacturers’ storage recommen ations shoul
be strictly a here to. Refer to relevant
instructions.
• The cooling plate or refrigerate freezer shelves
in this appliance contain channels through which
the refrigerant passes. If these are puncture this
will cause substantial amage to the appliance
an result in foo loss. DO NOT USE SHARP
INSTRUMENTS to scrape off frost or ice. Un er
NO circumstances shoul soli ice be force off
the lining or shelves. Soli ice shoul be allowe
to thaw, when efrosting the appliance. See
Defrost Instructions.
Maintenance and Cleaning
• Switch off an unplug the appliance before
carrying out any cleaning or maintenance work.
Servicing
• This pro uct shoul be service by an authorise
engineer an only genuine spare parts shoul be
use .
• Un er no circumstances shoul you attempt to
repair the machine yourself. Repairs carrie out
by inexperience persons may cause injury or
serious malfunctioning. Refer to your local
Service Force Centre an always insist on
genuine spare parts.

Door reversal directions
1. Disconnect from the electricity supply.
2. Gently lay the fri ge on its back with the top hel
away from the floor by 5-8 cm (2-3 inches) of
packing;
3. Remove the ventilation grill (D).
4. remove the bottom hinge (E) by unscrewing its
three fixing screws;
5. Sli e out the fri ge oor from pin (G), unscrew
the latter an then refit it on the opposite si e;
6. remove the two plugs of the oor (where
available), iscovering the holes for the hinge
pins, assemble them on the opposite si e;
7. reassemble the oor;
8. using a 10 mm spanner, unscrew the hinge pin
(E) an reassemble it on the opposite si e of the
hinge;
9. reassemble the lower hinge (E) on the opposite
si e, using the screws previously remove . Sli e
the hole cover (F) out of the ventilation grille (D)
by pushing it in the irection of the arrow an
reassemble it on the opposite si e;
10.refit the ventilation grille (D), clipping it into place;
11. Unscrew the han le. Refit it on the opposite si e
after having pierce the plugs with a punch.
Cover the holes left open with the plugs supplie
in the ocumentation pack.
Important
After completion of the oor reversing operation,
check that the oor gasket a heres to the cabinet. If
the ambient temperature is col (i.e. in Winter), the
gasket may not fit perfectly to the cabinet. In that
case, wait for the natural fitting of the gasket or
accelerate this process by heating up the part
involve with a normal hair ryer on a low setting.

OPERATION
Be ore using
Remove all securing tapes. Wash insi e the
appliance with lukewarm water an bicarbonate of
so a (5 ml to 0.5 litre of water).
Setting the temperature
The temperature within the appliance is controlle by
the thermostat control knob situate at the top of the
appliance.
To operate the appliance procee as follows:
Turn the thermostat control beyon the «■» position.
Position min = minimum col ness
Position max = maximum col ness
Turn the thermostat ial to the require position.
The intermediate position is usually the most
suitable.
The thermostat setting can vary as the temperature
insi e the refrigeration compartment epen s on the
following factors:
– room temperature
– how often the oor is opene
– how much foo is store
– position of the appliance
Fresh ood re rigeration
To obtain the best performance, o not store warm
foo or evaporating liqui s in the refrigerator; o
cover or wrap the foo , particularly if it has a strong
flavour.
Do not cover the shelves with any protective
material, such as paper, car boar or plastic, which
may obstruct the air circulation through them.
To help you use your refrigerator correctly, here are
some more useful hints:
Raw meat (beef, pork, lamb & poultry or chicken):
wrap in polythene bags an place on the glass shelf
above the sala crispers.
Meat can only be stored sa ely in this way or
one or two days at the most.
Fruit & vegetables: these shoul be thoroughly
cleane an place in the bottom sala crisper(s).
Butter & cheese: these shoul be place in special
airtight containers or wrappe in aluminium foil or
polythene bags to exclu e as much air as possible.
Milk bottles: these shoul have a cap an shoul be
store in the bottle rack on the oor.

To Start the Appliance
Allow the appliance to stan for 2 hours after
installation.
Plug in the appliance an switch on at the mains
supply. Turn the thermostat control knob (B) to a
me ium setting. The pilot light (A) will illuminate.
Leave the appliance for approximately 4 hours to
allow the correct temperature to be reache before
placing foo insi e.
To switch off the appliance turn the thermostat
control knob to position “O” .
Important
During prolonge perio s of abnormally hot weather,
if the thermostat is set on too high a number, the
cooling system may operate continuously an the
fri ge cooling plate may not efrost. Turning the knob
to a lower number will cause the automatic
efrosting to resume.

Do not use soap or detergent as the smell may
linger. Dry thoroughly.

Electrical connections
Any electrical work require to install this appliance
shoul be carrie out by a qualifie electrician or
competent person.
WARNING: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE
EARTHED.
The manu acturer declines any liability should
this sa ety measure not be observed.
If the plug that is fitte to your appliance is not
suitable for your socket outlet, it must be cut off an
the appropriate plug fitte .
Remove the fuse from the cut off plug.
The cut off plug shoul then be ispose of to
prevent the hazar of shocks in case it shoul be
plugge into a 13amp socket in another part of your
home.
Important
The wires in the mains lea are coloure in
accor ance with the following co e:
Green and Yellow - Earth
Blue - Neutral
Brown - Live
If you fit your own plug, the colours of the wires in
the mains lea of your appliance may not correspon
with the markings i entifying the terminals in your
plug, procee as follows:
Connect the Green an Yellow (earth) wire to the
terminal in the plug which is marke with the letter
«E» or the earth symbol or coloure green an
yellow.
Connect the blue (neutral) wire to the terminal in the
plug which is marke with the letter «N» or coloure
black.
Connect the brown (live) wire to the terminal in the
plug which is marke with the letter «L» or coloure
re .

The plug moul e onto the lea incorporates a fuse.
For replacement, use a 13amp BSI362 fuse. Only
ASTA or BSI approve fuses shoul be use .
The plug must not be use if the fuse cover/carrier is
lost. The cover/carrier is in icate by the coloure
insert at the base of the plug.
A replacement cover/carrier must be obtaine from
your local Service Force Centre.
This appliance complies with the E.E.C. Directive

Movable shelves
The walls of the refrigerator have runners so that
shelves can be positione as esire .
Positioning the door shelves
To permit storage of foo packages of various sizes,
the oor shelves can be a juste in height.

Normal Operating Sounds
• You may hear faint gurgling or bubbling soun s
when the refrigerant is pumpe through the coils
or tubing at the rear, to the cooling
plate/evaporator.
• When the compressor is on, the refrigerant is
being pumpe roun , an you will hear a whirring
soun or pulsating noise from the compressor.
• A thermostat controls the compressor, an you
will hear a faint ’click’ when the thermostat cuts in
an out.

INSTALLATION
Positioning
This appliance shoul only be installe at a location
where the ambient temperature correspon s to the
climate classification in icate on the rating plate,
which is locate at the left on the insi e of the
appliance.
The following table shows which ambient
temperature is correct for each climate classification:
SN +10°C to + 32°C
N +16°C to + 32°C
ST +18°C to + 38°C
T +18°C to + 43°C
It shoul be locate in a ry atmosphere, out of
irect sunlight an away from extreme temperature
e.g. not next to a boiler or ra iator, or in a very col
room e.g. an outhouse, where the temperatures may
fall below 10°C (50°F). If these temperatures are
excee e i.e. col er or warmer, then the appliance
may not operate correctly.
You shoul also ensure that air can circulate freely
aroun the back an the top of the cabinet. There
must also be at least 100 mm (4”) istance between
the top of the cabinet an any overhanging kitchen
furniture (A). I eally, the appliance shoul not be
positione beneath overhanging furniture (B).
There shoul also be a gap of 25 mm either si e of
the appliance. Do not obstruct the space
un erneath. The back of the cabinet may be place
close to the wall but must not touch it. DO NOT
install in places with restricte ventilation.

using your fingers or a tool ( see figure).

IF YOU ARE DISCARDING AN OLD APPLIANCE
THAT HAS A LOCK OR CATCH ON THE DOOR,
YOU MUST ENSURE THAT IT IS MADE
UNUSABLE TO PREVENT YOUNG CHILDREN
BEING TRAPPED INSIDE.
Rear spacers
In the bag with the ocumentation, there are two
spacers which must be fitte as shown in the figure.
Slacken the screws an insert the spacer un er the
screw hea , then re-tighten the screws.
Important
It must be possible to isconnect the appliance from
the mains power supply; the plug must therefore be
easily accessible after installation.
Depen ing upon the position which you choose for
your appliance, you may wish to reverse the way in
which the oor opens. To o this, refer to instructions
on “Door reversal”.
Please ensure that when the appliance is
installed it is easily accessible or the engineer in
the event o a breakdown.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
External cleaning
Many proprietary kitchen sur ace cleaners
contain chemicals that can attack/damage the
plastics used in this appliance. For this reason it
is recommended that the outer casing o this
appliance is only cleaned with warm water with a
little washing-up liquid added.
An accumulation of ust will affect the performance
of the appliance an cause excessive electricity
consumption.
Before any maintenance or cleaning work is carrie
out, DISCONNECT the appliance from the
ELECTRICITY supply.
Internal cleaning
Clean the insi e an accessories with warm water
an bicarbonate of so a (5ml to 0.5 litre of water).
Rinse an ry thoroughly.
NEVER USE DETERGENTS, ABRASIVE
POWDERS, HIGHLY PERFUMED CLEANING
PRODUCTS OR WAX POLISHES, TO CLEAN THE
INTERIOR AS THESE WILL DAMAGE THE
SURFACE AND LEAVE A STRONG ODOUR.
When the appliance is not in use
When the appliance is not in use for long perio s,
isconnect from the electricity supply, empty all
foo s an clean the appliance, leaving the oors ajar
to prevent unpleasant smells.
Food Storage
• To obtain the best results from the appliance
neither hot foo s nor liqui s which may
evaporate, shoul be place in the lar er
compartment.
• Keep the time between buying chille foo an
placing it in your refrigerator as short as possible.
• Do not push foo together too much, try to allow
air to circulate aroun each item.
• Do not store foo uncovere .
• Remove suspect foo from your refrigerator an
clean, refer to Maintenance an Cleaning.
Energy Saving Advice
• Do not install the appliance close to sources of
heat, such as a boiler or ra iator.
• Locate the appliance in a cool well ventilate
room an make sure that the air openings of the
appliance are not obstructe .
• Always leave warm foo to cool own to room
temperature before placing in the fri ge.
• Try to avoi keeping the oor open for long
perio s or opening the oor too frequently as
warm air will enter the cabinet an cause the
compressor to switch on unnecessarily often.
• Ensure there are no obstructions preventing the
oor from closing properly.
• It is a visable to peri ocally clean the
refrigeration system at the back of the appliance
with a uster or vacuum cleaner.
HINTS AND TIPS
You MUST ensure that the appliance is switche
OFF.
Once or twice a year ust the con enser (black grill)
an the compressor at the back of the appliance,
with a brush or vacuum cleaner, see figure.

De rosting
The refrigerator automatically efrosts every time the
compressor stops. The water is ischarge , via the
pipe, into a tray locate at the back of the appliance
above the compressor, where it evaporates.
Important
To avoi efrost water overflowing into the fri ge,
perio ically clean the water ischarge hole in the
centre of the V shape rip collector at the back of
the refrigerator compartment behin the sala
crispers. Use the efrost cleaner provi e which you
will fin alrea y inserte into the ischarge hole.
Remember to wash the efrost cleaner in hot soapy
water at regular intervals. Dry throughly before
replacing.

Changing the light bulb
If it becomes necessary to replace the lamp, press on
the rear hook an at the same time sli e the cover in
the irection in icate by the arrow.
Unscrew the bulb an replace it with one of the same
power (the maximum power is shown on the light
iffuser).available from your nearest Service Force
Centre.
Replace the light cover by sli ing it into its original
position.

Standard guarantee conditions
We, Zanussi-Electrolux, un ertake that if within 12 months of the ate of the purchase this
ZANUSSI-ELECTROLUX appliance or any part thereof is prove to be efective by reason only of faulty
workmanship or materials, we will, at our option repair or replace the same FREE OF CHARGE for labour,
materials or carriage on con ition that:
• The appliance has been correctly installe an use only on the electricity supply state on the rating plate.
• The appliance has been use for normal omestic purposes only, an in accor ance with the manufacturer’s
instructions.
• The appliance has not been service , maintaine , repaire , taken apart or tampere with by any person not
authorise by us.
• All service work un er this guarantee must be un ertaken by a Service Force Centre. Any appliance or
efective part replace shall become the Company’s property.
• This guarantee is in a ition to your statutory an other legal rights.
Home visits are ma e between 8.30am and 5.30pm Mon ay to Fri ay. Visits may be available outsi e these
hours in which case a premium will be charge .
Exclusions
This guarantee does not cover:
• Damage or calls resulting from transportation, improper use or neglect, the replacement of any light bulbs or
removable parts of glass or plastic.
• Costs incurre for calls to put right an appliance which is improperly installe or calls to appliances outsi e
the European Community (EC) or European Free Tra e Area.

De rosting
The refrigerator automatically efrosts every time the
compressor stops. The water is ischarge , via the
pipe, into a tray locate at the back of the appliance
above the compressor, where it evaporates.
Important
To avoi efrost water overflowing into the fri ge,
perio ically clean the water ischarge hole in the
centre of the V shape rip collector at the back of
the refrigerator compartment behin the sala
crispers. Use the efrost cleaner provi e which you
will fin alrea y inserte into the ischarge hole.
Remember to wash the efrost cleaner in hot soapy
water at regular intervals. Dry throughly before
replacing.

Changing the light bulb
If it becomes necessary to replace the lamp, press on
the rear hook an at the same time sli e the cover in
the irection in icate by the arrow.
Unscrew the bulb an replace it with one of the same
power (the maximum power is shown on the light
iffuser).available from your nearest Service Force
Centre.
Replace the light cover by sli ing it into its original
position.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
External cleaning
Many proprietary kitchen sur ace cleaners
contain chemicals that can attack/damage the
plastics used in this appliance. For this reason it
is recommended that the outer casing o this
appliance is only cleaned with warm water with a
little washing-up liquid added.
An accumulation of ust will affect the performance
of the appliance an cause excessive electricity
consumption.
Before any maintenance or cleaning work is carrie
out, DISCONNECT the appliance from the
ELECTRICITY supply.
Internal cleaning
Clean the insi e an accessories with warm water
an bicarbonate of so a (5ml to 0.5 litre of water).
Rinse an ry thoroughly.
NEVER USE DETERGENTS, ABRASIVE
POWDERS, HIGHLY PERFUMED CLEANING
PRODUCTS OR WAX POLISHES, TO CLEAN THE
INTERIOR AS THESE WILL DAMAGE THE

When the appliance is not in use for long perio s,
isconnect from the electricity supply, empty all

Food Storage

temperature before placing in the fri ge.
• Try to avoi keeping the oor open for long
perio s or opening the oor too frequently as
warm air will enter the cabinet an cause the
compressor to switch on unnecessarily often.
• Ensure there are no obstructions preventing the
oor from closing properly.

refrigeration system at the back of the appliance
with a uster or vacuum cleaner.

Normal Operating Sounds
• You may hear faint gurgling or bubbling soun s
when the refrigerant is pumpe through the coils
or tubing at the rear, to the cooling
plate/evaporator.
• When the compressor is on, the refrigerant is
being pumpe roun , an you will hear a whirring
soun or pulsating noise from the compressor.
• A thermostat controls the compressor, an you
will hear a faint ’click’ when the thermostat cuts in
an out.

INSTALLATION
Positioning
This appliance shoul only be installe at a location
where the ambient temperature correspon s to the
climate classification in icate on the rating plate,
which is locate at the left on the insi e of the
appliance.
The following table shows which ambient
temperature is correct for each climate classification:
SN +10°C to + 32°C
N +16°C to + 32°C
ST +18°C to + 38°C
T +18°C to + 43°C
It shoul be locate in a ry atmosphere, out of
irect sunlight an away from extreme temperature
e.g. not next to a boiler or ra iator, or in a very col
room e.g. an outhouse, where the temperatures may
fall below 10°C (50°F). If these temperatures are
excee e i.e. col er or warmer, then the appliance
may not operate correctly.
You shoul also ensure that air can circulate freely
aroun the back an the top of the cabinet. There
must also be at least 100 mm (4”) istance between
the top of the cabinet an any overhanging kitchen
furniture (A). I eally, the appliance shoul not be
positione beneath overhanging furniture (B).
There shoul also be a gap of 25 mm either si e of
the appliance. Do not obstruct the space
un erneath. The back of the cabinet may be place
close to the wall but must not touch it. DO NOT
install in places with restricte ventilation.

Rear spacers
In the bag with the ocumentation, there are two
spacers which must be fitte as shown in the figure.
Slacken the screws an insert the spacer un er the
screw hea , then re-tighten the screws.
Important
It must be possible to isconnect the appliance from
the mains power supply; the plug must therefore be
easily accessible after installation.
Depen ing upon the position which you choose for
your appliance, you may wish to reverse the way in
which the oor opens. To o this, refer to instructions
on “Door reversal”.
Please ensure that when the appliance is
installed it is easily accessible or the engineer in
the event o a breakdown.

OPERATION
Be ore using
Remove all securing tapes. Wash insi e the
appliance with lukewarm water an bicarbonate of
so a (5 ml to 0.5 litre of water).
Setting the temperature
The temperature within the appliance is controlle by
the thermostat control knob situate at the top of the
appliance.
To operate the appliance procee as follows:
Turn the thermostat control beyon the «■» position.
Position min = minimum col ness
Position max = maximum col ness
Turn the thermostat ial to the require position.
The intermediate position is usually the most
suitable.
The thermostat setting can vary as the temperature
insi e the refrigeration compartment epen s on the
following factors:
– room temperature
– how often the oor is opene
– how much foo is store
– position of the appliance
Fresh ood re rigeration
To obtain the best performance, o not store warm
foo or evaporating liqui s in the refrigerator; o
cover or wrap the foo , particularly if it has a strong
flavour.
Do not cover the shelves with any protective
material, such as paper, car boar or plastic, which
may obstruct the air circulation through them.
To help you use your refrigerator correctly, here are
some more useful hints:
Raw meat (beef, pork, lamb & poultry or chicken):
wrap in polythene bags an place on the glass shelf
above the sala crispers.
Meat can only be stored sa ely in this way or
one or two days at the most.
Fruit & vegetables: these shoul be thoroughly
cleane an place in the bottom sala crisper(s).
Butter & cheese: these shoul be place in special
airtight containers or wrappe in aluminium foil or
polythene bags to exclu e as much air as possible.
Milk bottles: these shoul have a cap an shoul be
store in the bottle rack on the oor.

To Start the Appliance
Allow the appliance to stan for 2 hours after
installation.
Plug in the appliance an switch on at the mains
supply. Turn the thermostat control knob (B) to a
me ium setting. The pilot light (A) will illuminate.
Leave the appliance for approximately 4 hours to
allow the correct temperature to be reache before
placing foo insi e.
To switch off the appliance turn the thermostat
control knob to position “O” .
Important
During prolonge perio s of abnormally hot weather,
if the thermostat is set on too high a number, the
cooling system may operate continuously an the
fri ge cooling plate may not efrost. Turning the knob
to a lower number will cause the automatic
efrosting to resume.

Electrical connections
Any electrical work require to install this appliance
shoul be carrie out by a qualifie electrician or
competent person.
WARNING: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE
EARTHED.

If the plug that is fitte to your appliance is not
suitable for your socket outlet, it must be cut off an
the appropriate plug fitte .
Remove the fuse from the cut off plug.
The cut off plug shoul then be ispose of to
prevent the hazar of shocks in case it shoul be
plugge into a 13amp socket in another part of your
home.

The wires in the mains lea are coloure in

If you fit your own plug, the colours of the wires in
the mains lea of your appliance may not correspon
with the markings i entifying the terminals in your
plug, procee as follows:
Connect the Green an Yellow (earth) wire to the
terminal in the plug which is marke with the letter
«E» or the earth symbol or coloure green an
yellow.
Connect the blue (neutral) wire to the terminal in the
plug which is marke with the letter «N» or coloure
black.
Connect the brown (live) wire to the terminal in the
plug which is marke with the letter «L» or coloure
re .

Door reversal directions
1. Disconnect from the electricity supply.
2. Gently lay the fri ge on its back with the top hel
away from the floor by 5-8 cm (2-3 inches) of
packing;
3. Remove the ventilation grill (D).
4. remove the bottom hinge (E) by unscrewing its
three fixing screws;
5. Sli e out the fri ge oor from pin (G), unscrew
the latter an then refit it on the opposite si e;
6. remove the two plugs of the oor (where
available), iscovering the holes for the hinge
pins, assemble them on the opposite si e;
7. reassemble the oor;
8. using a 10 mm spanner, unscrew the hinge pin
(E) an reassemble it on the opposite si e of the
hinge;
9. reassemble the lower hinge (E) on the opposite
si e, using the screws previously remove . Sli e
the hole cover (F) out of the ventilation grille (D)
by pushing it in the irection of the arrow an
reassemble it on the opposite si e;
10.refit the ventilation grille (D), clipping it into place;
11. Unscrew the han le. Refit it on the opposite si e
after having pierce the plugs with a punch.
Cover the holes left open with the plugs supplie
in the ocumentation pack.
Important
After completion of the oor reversing operation,
check that the oor gasket a heres to the cabinet. If
the ambient temperature is col (i.e. in Winter), the
gasket may not fit perfectly to the cabinet. In that
case, wait for the natural fitting of the gasket or
accelerate this process by heating up the part
involve with a normal hair ryer on a low setting.
