These warnings were written for your own safety
and for the safety of others.
Use
This washing machine was designed for use
byadults. Makesurethatchildrendonottouch
it or play with it.
Unpack your washing machine immediately
when you receive it, or ask someone else to
unpackitforyou. Checkitsgeneralappearance.
Ifyou haveany reserves,make themin writing
on the delivery form, and keep a copy of it.
Your washing machine is designed for normal
domestic use. Do not use it for commercial or
industrial purposes or for anything other than
the purposes for which it was designed.
Do not modify or attempt to modify the
characteristics of this washing machine. This
would be dangerous for you.
Always pull out the plug and turn off the water
supply tap when you have finished using the
washing machine.
Only wash and dry articles that will resist
machine washing. Follow the instructions on
the label attached to each article.
Do not use your washing machine to wash
articleswithwhalebones,materialwithouthems
or torn material.
When the washing is made with a liquid
detergent in a ball-type packaging, it is
necessary to take away the packaging before
drying the laundry.
Before washing, ensure that all pockets are
emptyandbuttonsandzipsarefastened.Avoid
washing frayed or torn articles and treat stains
such as paint, ink, rust, and grass before
washing.
Elements forming part of the packaging (for
example plastic films, pieces of polystyrene)
can be dangerous for children. Keep these
packaging elements out of reach of children.
Do not put articles in the washing machine if
you have just cleaned them using a stain
remover containing gasoline, alcohol,
trichloroethylene, etc. If you use this type of
stain remover, wait until the product has
evaporatedbefore youput yourwashinginthe
drum.
Put all small items such as socks, belts, etc.,
togetherinsideasmallclothbagorpillowcase,
so that they cannot get trapped between the
drum and the tank.
Use only detergents designed for the washing
machine. Follow the recommendations made
by the manufacturer of these products.
Always unplug the washing machine before
cleaning and servicing it.
Leave the cover and the drum open when you
are not using your washing machine, to air the
tub and prevent the formation of mould and
bad smells.
Never use the washing machine if the power
supply cable, the control panel, the working
surface or the base are damaged so that the
inside of the washing machine is accessible.
Makesurethatpetscannotgetintothedrumof
your washing machine.
Installation
If the appliance is installed in a location
subject to frost, completely drain the washing
machine and unscrew the tap supply pipe and
put it down on the floor.
Iftheelectricalinstallationinyourhouseneeds
tobemodifiedsothatyoucanplugyourwashing
machine in, have the work done by a qualified
electrician.
Please read the instructions in the “Electrical
connection” chapter carefully before plugging
in your washing machine.
Ask a qualified plumber to make the water
connections for your washing machine.
After you have put your washing machine into
place,makesurethatthepowersupplycableis
not trapped under it.
This washing machine is heavy. Take care
when you move it.
All repairs to the washing machine must be
made by qualified personnel.

All packing devices must be removed from the
washing machine before you use it. Severe
damage may occur to the washing machine or
adjacentfurnitureifyouforgettoremoveanyof
thetransportprotectionpacking. Alwaysunplug
thewashingmachinebeforeremovingpacking.
Safeties
Cover: yourwashingmachineisequippedwith
a safety device preventing the washing ma
chine cover from closing when the drum doors
are open. It is impossible to start it until the
doorsareclosed. Anelectromechanicalsafety
device prevents you from opening the cover
whilethewashingmachineisoperating,andfor
about 2 minutes after the end of the program.
Washing motor: a temperature safety device
protects the motor against risks of mechanical
overload, or overvoltage or undervoltage.
Heating: heating will not start until the water
quantitynecessaryforwashinghasbeenadded
into the tank. This safety device is effective
mainlywhenthewatersupplyiscutofforifyou
forget to open the water supply tap.
Theunbalancedweightprotectionsystem: this
safety system keeps the washing machine
stable during intermediate spins or the final
spin and therefore detects any bad distribution
ofyourwashing(smallloadortangledwashing).
It can then remedy this situation.
The anti-foam system: water consumption is
very low, due to the electronic spin cycle with
an intermediate spin after the main wash and
threerinsecyclesforwhiteandcolorprograms.
Thespin cycleremainsunder thecontrolof the
foam detection system after the wash cycle
has finished. If necessary, the spin cycle will
stop until all foam is removed.
Automatic adjustment of water consumption
This automatic adjustment system adapts the
water consumption as a function of the
quantity and nature of the washing.
Environmental information
All materials marked by the symbol can be
recycled. Place them in a waste collection bin
providedforthispurpose(askyourlocalmunicipal
services) so that they can be recovered and
recycled.
Plastics are identified as follows:
- >PE< for polyethylene, for example for the
surrounding cover and envelopes containing
thedocumentation;
- >PS< for expanded polystyrene, for example
packing parts practically free of HCFC.
Cardboard is made from recycled paper and
therefore should be discarded in waste paper
collection bins.
We recommend that the following instructions
should be followed to save water and energy, and
thereforecontribute toprotectingtheenvironment:
- When possible, use full loads rather than par-
tial loads in your washing machine (however
do not overload the drum).
- Only use programs with prewash for very dirty
washing.
- Adapt the amount of detergent to the water
hardness, to the amount of your washing, and
how dirty it is.
If you scrap your old washing machine, make
sure that you put everything that could be
dangerousoutofservice; cutthepowersupply
cable flush with the washing machine, and
prevent the door latch from closing.
Thanks to the JETSYSTEM
process which
allows to reduce your consumptions of water
and detergent products, use only the two
thirdsoftheadvicedquantitiesbythedetergent
producers on the packing.

USE OFYOUR APPLIANCE
The control panel
Never turn the programme selector when the appliance is working.
1 On/off pushbutton " "
Press the "on/off" pushbutton, the programme starts:
the power control lamp lights on.
2 Power control lamp
By pressing the pushbutton " ", the washing pro-
gramme starts and this control lamp lights on.
3 Quick Wash pushbutton " "
Thispushbuttonallowstoreducethetimeofthewashing
and rinsing cycles of the cotton and the synthetics
programmesrespectivelyabout60minutes and about
30minutes.
4 BIO pushbutton
This pushbutton allows to inserts a 10 minutes phase
which the temperature is maintained at 30°C for the
cotton programmes and at 40°C for the synthetics
programmes.
5 Extra rinse pushbutton " "
Thispushbuttonallowstoincreasethewaterlevelonthe
cottonprogrammes.
6 Temperature selector
Choose the temperature between cold ( ) and 90°C
whichcorresponds to thechosenprogramme,with the
helpoftheindicationsoftheprogrammetable,according
to the fibers and the fastness of the colours.
7 Spinning speed variator
It enables to choose the spinning speed from 500 to
1300 rpm on the cotton programmes, from 300 to 900
rpm on synthetics programmes and from 300 to 1000
rpmonwoolprogramme.
Note : we advice you to spin the cotton and the
syntheticstotheirmaximumspeedsifyouwishthendry
them with your appliance, in order to save time and
energy.
Important : if you choose the linked drying for the
synthetics,thelaundrywillbespinnedtothemaximum
spinningspeedof900rpminordertoassureyoualways
goodsdryingresults.
8 Timer
Itenablestoselectthemostadaptedprogrammetothe
nature and degrees of soil of your laundry.
Turn the programme selector clockwise to select the
chosenprogramme.
The programme selector indicates each programme
phase as it takes place.
At the end of the programme, the appliance stops
automatically on a position off "I".
Neverturnthetimeranticlockwise
9 Drying time selector
Thisselector allows toselectthedrying time according
to the nature, the quantity of laundry to dry, and to the
dryingresultswished.Thesedryingtimesarelimitedto
120 minutes on the cotton programmes and to 80
minutes on the synthetics programmes.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Before using your washer dryer for the first time, we recommend that you do a
preliminary wash with the machine empty, as a precaution to clean the drum, the
tub and the detergent dispenser.
1. Pour a dose of detergent in the “washing” compartment.
2. Select the "whites 90°C" program without prewash.
3. Press the on/off button " ". The cycle starts.

2. Measure out the detergent
Measure out the amount of detergent
recommended by the manufacturer in the main
wash compartment 2 ( ).
Ifyouwishtocarryoutaprewash,pourtheamount
required into the prewash compartment 1 ( ).
Do not exceed the MAXI level.
3. Add the bleach agent, if required
You may use a bleach agent on cotton program-
mes.However,makesurethatthefabricwithstands
the treatment. Bleach is automatically washed
down into the drum. Pour 1/4 to 1 glass of 12° chl
bleach into compartment 4 marked ( ) before
switching the machine on.
Make sure that the level of the liquid never
exceeds the MAXI level.
4. Add the fabric softener
Pourthesoftener,ifrequired,intothecompartment
3 marked ( ). Do not exceed the MAXI level.
5. Press the supplementary push-
buttons if required.

6. Select the temperature
Choose the temperature which corresponds to
thechosenprogramme,withthehelpoftheindica-
tions or the programme table, according to the
fibers and the fastness of the colours.
7. Select the spinning speed
Choose the spinning speed suiting best to the
natureofyourlaundryandtothedegreeofhumidity
wished at the end of the wash.
Here are the spinning speeds according to the
nature of the laundry :

linkautomaticallythedryingafterthewashing)
Choose the drying time according to the nature of
the laundry, the quantity of laundry (2,5 kg of
cotton and 1,5 kg of synthetics) and to the drying
results wished.
9. Select the programme
Choose the programme according to the nature
and the degree of soil of the laundry.
Turn the programme selector clockwise to select
the chosen programme.
10. Starting of the programme
The on/off pushbutton " " enables to switch on
your machine. The control lamp lights on and the
programmebegins.
11. At the end of the programme
When the selected programme is over, the ma-
chine stops automatically. The timer knob stops
on a position "I" for all the programmes. You can
alsocontinue theseprogrammes bya drying(see
page 14).
At the end of the cycle, depress the on/off
pushbutton " ". The control lamp lights off. Press
offthe otherpushbuttons ifnecessary. Makesure
that the drum is empty ; any fabric that remained
inside could be damaged in the next wash
(shrinkage) or it could lose its color onto other
items of washing.

If your washing was not spun at the end of the
cycle, check that the load is properly distrib-
uted in the drum before restarting a spin cycle
(see “unbalanced weight protection system”
section).
Note :
We recommend that you leave the cover and the
drum opened after use in order to air the tub.

The drying times have been defined according to the conditions fixed by the norms. The laundry sorts,
the laundry load, the residual dampness after spinning, the condensation water temperature and the
electrical voltage can modify the above indicated values
Those drying times are provided as a guide. Only your experience after some usings, will allow you to
estimate the necessary time for the drying of your usual loads of laundry.
If you do not use softener product or if your load of laundry is mainly made up of bath towels, we advice
you to increase slightly the indicated drying times.
Foraload oflaundry with fibersof differentnature (resistant cottonand synthetics,forexample), choose
the drying programme according to the fiber the most delicate and increase it about 10 minutes.
Be careful : do not select the drying time the most long for the first use. You will determinate the wished
drying degree by extend progressively the drying time.
Important : when you realize a drying programme, the water inlet pipe must keep opened.

If a drying time is not selected, the drying pro-
gramme does not start.
Linked drying
Incase oflinked drying(washing programmewith
a drying programme), the laundry load will be
reduced to the half (2,5 kg max. for cotton pro-
grammes and 1,5 kg max. for the synthetics pro-
grammes).
Select the wished drying time when you choose
the washing programme. So, your appliance will
realizeautomatically thedryingprogrammeatthe
endofthewashingprogramme,withoutyourinter-
vention.
Do not use a ball-type packaging if you realize
a linked drying.
Independant drying
If you realize a washing with a complete load of
cotton (5,0 kg) or of synthetics, it is necessary to
proceed to the drying of the laundry in two times.
Inthiscase,attheendofthewashingprogramme,
getthehalfoftheloadofthelaundryoutofthedrum
(if you have used a ball-type packaging, take it
away) and proceed as follow :
to dry cotton
- open the water inlet pipe
- turn the programme selector on the position
of the programme F "Drying"
- select the drying time (with the drying time
selector).
- press the on/off pushbutton " ".
The drying cotton cycle ends by a cooling
phase about 17 minutes.
to dry synthetics
- open the water inlet pipe
- turn the programme selector on the position
of the programme K "Drying"
- select the drying time with the drying time
selector
- press the on/off pushbutton " ".
The drying synthetics cycle ends by a cooling
phase about 8 minutes.
How to extend the drying time :
- press out the on/off pushbutton " " ; the
appliance is switched off.
-selectthewisheddryingprogrammeandtime
by respecting the nature of the laundry.
-press ontheon/off pushbutton" ";thedrying
programme continues.
Interruption of the drying cycle
Ifyoumustbreakthedryingcycle(toavoid),press
off the on/off pushbutton " ". The appliance is
switched off. Be careful, in this case, the drum of
your washer-dryer is very hot ; we advise to wait
for a while before taking away the laundry (risk of
burns).

HINTS AND TIPS
Washing hints
Youareadvisednottoleaveyourlaundrytoolong,
especially when damp. Damp laundry produces
moult and unpleasant smells.
Moult stains cannot be removed.
Sort your laundry.
Studycarefullythe chartin this bookletexplaining
thesymbolsusedonclotheslabels(seepage13).
The following points are particularly important :
- a line under the bowl means that the garment
cannotbewashedusingprogrammesforresistant
fabrics such as cotton and linen;
- do not mix coloured garments with whites;
-anticreasematerialslikepolyester/cottonshould
be treated as synthetics;
-non-resistantfabricslikeacrylicandmostcurtain
materials should be treated as delicate fabrics;
- the wool programme is designed specifically for
pure new wool. Other types of wool and wool
mixtures may shrink or felt if machine-washed.
Woollen garments should be spun briefly
immediately after washing.
Prewash
Prewash is not normally necessary. Your new
washing machine combined with modern
detergentswillgiveperfectwashingresultswithout
prewash, thus saving energy, time, water and
detergent.
However, when the laundry is particularly dirty
(for example if you have to wash mechanics'
overalls or butchers' aprons), you are advised to
use prewash with a biological detergent.
Temperatures
We suggest that white cotton and linen, if it is not
excessively soiled, can be washed at 60°instead
of 95°C. There should be no reduction in perfor-
mance, but there will be an energy saving of
approximately 30%.
Thesameappliestoalesserextenttofastcoloured
garments.
They usually require a temperature of 60°C but if
they are not excessively dirty, you will have
satisfactory results at 40°C.
Garments with non-fast colours should not be
washed at temperatures above 40°C. If fast and
non-fastcoloursarewashedtogether,theyshould
be treated as non-fast colours and therefore the
temperature should not exceed 40°C.
Resistant white and coloured synthetics can
normally be washed at 60°C but also in this case
40°C is sufficient if the laundry is not excessively
dirty.
Delicate synthetics, synthetics with non-fast
colours and woollen garments must never be
washed above 40°C.
As you already know, your washing machine can
also wash with cold water. However, it must be
remembered that the detergents currently on the
market have not been designed for cold washes
and that in winter, when the water is very cold,
they may not dissolve adequately.
We suggest the use of liquid detergents.
How much laundry can be washed
in one load?
Strictly speaking you should always weigh your
laundry.
Thedrumwilltakeamaximumof5kgofcottonand
linen. For synthetics and delicate fabrics, the
maximum load is 2,5 kg and for wool, 1 kg.
Asweighingcan becomplicated, wesuggestyou
estimatetheweightaccordingtohowfullthedrum
is:
cotton and linen : drumfull nottoo tightypacked
resistant synthetics : no more than 2/3 of the
drum
delicate fabrics and wool : no more than 1/2 of
thedrum.
Before placing the laundry in the
machine:
- mend all tears, holes and ladders;
- secure loose buttons and close poppers and
zips;
- do not wash frayed garments - mend hems
before washing;
- remove all small objects from pockets. Nails,
pins,clipsandsimilarobjectscanseriouslydamage
your washing machine and laundry;
- remove curtain hooks;
- wash coloured garments and in particular those
withnon-fastcoloursseparatelywhenwashingfor
thefirst time.Theyare likelytolose colourthefirst
time they are washed.
- treat obstinate stains such as grass, rust, tar,
paint,inketc.withastainremoverbeforewashing.

Toremovepaintstains,forexample,useavolatile
substance such as turpentine: in this case, you
shouldwaitforittodrycompletelybeforewashing.
Themanufacturerof yourwashingmachine isnot
responsiblefor anydamage derivingfrom theuse
of volatile, inflammable or toxic substances.
At the end of the washing
Damplaundryshouldbedriedassoonaspossible
after finishing the wash.
Knitwear and woollens should be dried flat away
from direct sunlight.
Detergents and additives
Good washing results also depend on the choice
of detergent and use of the correct quantities to
avoidwasteandprotecttheenvironment.Although
biodegradable, detergents contain substances
which in large quantities can damage the delicate
ecological balance of nature.
Always use good quality detergents suitable
for use in washing machines.
Follow the indications given by the detergent ma-
nufacturer according to the weight of laundry, the
degree of soil and the hardness of the water in
your area; if you do not know how hard it is, ask
your local Water Authority.
Powder detergents
The washing powder should be placed in the
appropriatecompartmentsofthedispenserdrawer
beforestartingtheprogramme.Specialdetergents
areavailaibleforcolouredanddelicatefabricsand
for wool.
"Concentrated" powder detergents
Pour the concentrated powder detergent into the
main wash ( ) compartment.
Avoid selecting programmes including
prewash when concentrated detergents are
used.

Liquid detergents
It is possible to use a liquid detergent for main
washphasesifyouuseaball-typepackagingball
andif youstart thewashingmachineimmediately
Liquid detergents can be used instead of powder
detergents particularly for lightly soiled laundry
and for medium or low temperature washing pro-
grammes, while it is better to use a powder
detergent for high temperature washing
programmes.
Liquid additives
Anyliquidadditivesforsofteningthelaundrymust
bepouredintothecompartment ofthedetergent
dispenserdrawerbeforestartingtheprogramme.
Theadditionofwatersoftenerisparticularlyuseful
when drying the clothes in a tumble dryer after
washing to avoid a static charge.
Makesurethattheleveloftheliquidneverexceeds
the MAXI level.
Bleach
You may use a bleach agent on cotton program-
mes.However,makesurethatthefabricwithstands
the treatment. Bleach is automatically washed
down into the drum. Pour 1/4 to 1 glass of 12°chl
bleach into compartment " " before switching

Drying
Our advices
- do not overload the drum of your washer/dryer
(2,5 kg of dry cottons or 1,5 kg of dry synthetics).
For the particularly fragile laundry, it is
recommended to reduce more the load.
- An overloading of the drum would unusually
prolong the drying time and could crease of the
laundry.
- Avoid to dry at the same time light textiles and
cotton textiles because the weight of the cottons

Drying time
The drying time depends on :
•the spinning :
- the laundry load must be well spin-dryed, we
recommend 900 rpm minimum
- the drying time will be shorter if you use the
maximumspinningspeedadvisedforthenatureof
the laundry
•the quantity of laundry :
- a big laundry load needs a longer drying time
•the type of laundry :
- towelling retains more water than synthetics
•the homogeneity of the load :

Removingscale fromyour washerdryer
It is usually not necessary to remove scale from
the washing machine if the correct amounts of
detergent were added.
If you need to remove scale, use a special non-
corrosive product specially designed for washing
machines, that you can buy in the shop.
Respect the dose and frequency of scale removal
shown on the packaging.
After each washing cycle
We recommend that you leave the cover and
drum open after each wash, to air the tank and
prevent the formation of mould and bad smells.
Clean inside the cover and around the tank inlet
using a sponge soaked in water (do not use a
scouring pad).
The cladding
Clean the washing machine cladding using luke-
warm water and a mild detergent. Rinse and dry
carefully.
Warning: never use alcohol, solvents or similar
products, abrasives or a sponge with a scouring
pad.
The control panel
Clean the control panel with lukewarm water and
a moist sponge.
The detergent dispensers
Regularly clean the detergent dispensers to clear
out any deposits. A long handled brush such as a
bottle brush will assist you in doing this.

Always unplug your washing machine before cleaning.

The drain filter
The machine has got a mecanic filter located on
the front part to collect lint and small objects
(toothpins, coins, pins, etc.) inadvertently left in
the clothes. It is essential that this filter is cleaned
regularly.
Frequency of cleaning depends on the type of
articleswashed(cleaningshouldbemorefrequent
if the articles have no hem and tend to fray).
To clean the filter proceed as follows :
Open the flap door pressing on its extreme left
(fig.1).
To take out the filter turn it handle anticlockwise
and then pull towards yourself (fig.3).
Clean the filter carefully and re-install it in its
originalpositionintroducingthecoverofthefiltertill
the end making sure it is perfectly located, then
turn filter handle clockwise.
Note : Under the filter there is a retractable gutter
which makes it easier to collect any residual
water. Pull it out before remove the filter (fig.2).
