Setup:

M ke sure the SD c rd is inst lled in the R spberry Pi 4
●
Inst ll the ntenn onto the RF connector
Po ering up:
●
Plug in the USB-C power c ble to your Elite 3.5 ZUMspot LCD kit. Then plug the c ble into the
w ll d pter nd insert th t into n AC outlet.
●
If the Elite 3.5 LCD ZUMspot kit doesn’t power up, then press the switch on the c ble nd it
should power up now.

Ethernet:

If you re going to use Ethernet, plug the c ble into the RJ45 connector on the end of the c se.

Setup Pi-Star:
Configure display type:
●
In the “MMDVMHost Configuration” section
●
M ke sure “MMDVM display Type” is set to “Nextion”
●
M ke sure “Port” is set to “Modem”
●
M ke sure “Nextion Layout” is set to “ON7LDS L3”
Ethernet:
●
If you re using Ethernet, the IP ddress should utom tic lly be retrieved by the DHCP system
built into the PiSt r softw re. No other configur tion should be needed.

Wi-Fi:
●
Power up the Elite 3.5 LCD ZUMspot kit.
●
After 3 minutes, sc n for Wi-Fi ccess points from your phone or l ptop. One should ppe r with
the n me “Pi-Star-Setup”
●
Connect to it. When sked for the Wi-Fi p ssword type in: r spberry
●
After 3 minutes, go to your web browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc.) nd connect to the website:
http://pi-st r (for Windows, Linux nd Android devices
http://pi-st r.loc l (for OS X nd iOS devices)
●
You should see this p ge:

Go to Configuration

You will be sked to put in the def ult usern me which is “pi-star” nd the def ult
p ssword which is “raspberry”

Select your Wi-Fi SSID nd enter your p ssword.

Click on “Save (and connect)” to s ve the Wi-Fi configur tion

Reboot your Elite 3.5 LCD ZUMspot kit

Configuration:

Ch nge the Node C llsign to your own, set the “Radio Frequency” to m tch your r dio nd
m ke sure the “Radio/Modem Type” is set to “ZUMspot - Raspberry Pi Hat (GPIO)”, set the
“System Time Zone” to your time zone, nd set the “Dashboard Language” to the l ngu ge you
prefer.

Click “Apply Changes” when you re done

Once you h ve completed the Pi-St r configur tion you c n st rt using the Elite 3.5 LCD ZUMspot kit to
connect to DSTAR, DMR nd other networks.
