BASIC OVERVIEW AND DIMENSIONS
This 8x14 gable shed is massive and exquisite, making it the ideal shed for leisure activities as well as storing your
gardening supplies. The overall height of this shed is 12 feet and 3/4 inches with the width being 8 feet and 1 inch.
There is a huge door in the front with a width of 9 feet wide and height of 7 feet. The side width of the shed is 14 feet
and 1 inch with the roof being 15 feet in width.
Note that the windows and doors need to be either separately built or purchased and therefore will not be included
in this shed building plan.

FOUNDATION AND FLOOR
You will start with building the foundation and the floor of the shed. Note that the foundation needs to resilient and
accurately designed. Since your shed’s entire load will be on the foundation, you need to make sure it is built right.
You will use pressure heated timber to create skids as shown in the figure. The width of the foundation should be 14
feet and the height should be 8 feet. Use ¾ inches thick tongue and groove plywood for the floor.

WALL STRUCTURES
Once the foundation and floor is built, the next step is to start building the wall structures. You will use pressure
heated timber to build the right and the left wall. The width of both the walls should be 14 feet and the height
should be 7 feet and 6 inches. The right wall will have openings for the front door and the two windows.

WALL STRUCTURES
Once the right and the left walls are built, the next step is to start building the front and back wall. The width
of the top plate of the walls should be 8 feet while the bottom plate’s width should 7 feet and 5 inches. The
height of the walls should be 7 feet and 6 inches. Use pressure heated timber to build the structures.

ROOF SECTION
After building and installing the walls, start building the roof. Note that roofing is quite a strenuous task
which is why we recommend acquiring additional help for the process.
You will build 10 rafters each side and install them as shown in the image. The rafters will be spread over
a width of 14 feet 11 inches.
