Introduction
Thank you for choosing AAD loudspeakers.
Their refined and natural sound character will
greatly enhance your listeningpleasure. Great
attention to detail hasgone into the designand
manufacturing of AAD loudspeakers, which
are built with only the finest materials. They
will provide many years of excellent
performance.
By usingmany proprietarycomponents, The
C-Series isthe resultof concentratedefforts
to combinesuperior sonicperformance with
exceptional aesthetic design to suit the
modern living environment. Some of the
features of C-Series include:
Smooth andextended frequencyresponse.
The AAD speakers are able to produce
wide musical range from bass through
mid-range frequencies and up to the
highest frequency beyond human limits.

Compatibility and flexibility. TheC-Series
includes many modelsof bookshelf, centre
channel, floor standing, rear surround
speakers and subwoofers in various sizes
to provide maximum flexibility for
different home theater and stereo
application. No matter what your
requirements are and type of room you
have, a custom designed system by using
speakers from the C-Series will meet your

Placement
For stereo listening, you may choose any one
pair of bookshelf orfloor standing model. The
size of speakers should be determined by the
size of your living space so that they can
provide sufficient volume. The two
loudspeakers should be placed an equal

distance from your listeningposition.
Bookshelf systems will also benefit from
placement on standsor shelves.The C-Series
stands are designed to match the bookshelf
speakers functionally andaesthetically.
Placing the loudspeakersin corners oragainst
a wall will result in the strongest ( but not
necessarily the most accurate ) bass. For the
best stereo imaging, we recommend that the
systems be placed so that the high frequency
transducers are as close as possible to the ear
level of aseated listener.
Every room has different acoustic
characteristics and people have different tastes
in sound. You should experiment to find out
the placement position that satisfy your
personal tastes.
Please refertoTable2 fordifferentsystem
configuration dependingon roomsizes.
Multi - ChannelApplication
To get the best surround sound from your
C-Series speakers, werecommend to position
the speakers at the same distance from the
listening position.
The centerspeaker,however,may bemoved
closer, but not beyond the straight line
connecting thetwo frontspeakers. Therear
speakers may also be closer to listening
position than the front speakers to suit the
configuration ofyour room.
Notes:
Do notplace thecenter orrearspeakers
farther awayfrom thelistening position
When mounting the rear speakers on side
walls perpendicular to the listening position
they should be placed 60~90 cm above the
listener's ear level at sitting down position.
than thefront speakers.
Depending on the shape of your room,
you may wish to place the rear speakers
behind youinstead ofon theside walls.In
this case, you canuse a pair oflarge floor
standing speakers matching your front
speakers.

the loudspeaker should be connected to the

on the receiver or amplifier. Connecting the
loudspeakers in thismanner ensures thatthey
will be in phase; that is, work together rather
than in opposition. Connecting the
loudspeakers out of phase will not damage
them, but will result in less bass and poor
imaging.

Single Wiring
Bi-wiring increases the flow of current andwill
usually improve the sound quality. This method
uses two pair of cables: one pair for the upper
two terminals and one pair for the bottom two
terminals ( as shown in Figure 2).
Connect thespeakers toamplifier thesame
manner asyou dosingle wiring.

Instead of a normal suspension construction, the
AAD Fixed Suspension Midrange ( FSM ) uses
an innovative design. The small movements of
the cone lightly compress and stretch the ring.
Because the ring's surface area is small, it
radiates relatively little sound, and what little
movement it does have always follows the cone
Firstly, the whole cone begins to respond much
quicker in a given time. In the time domain this
equates to a better transient response. In the
frequency domain it indicates a more extended
high-frequency response, and indeed the
response of this driver is smoother to higher
frequencies and allows a better-integrated
edge because it is so tightly coupled.
