Product Introduction
The AceCam A16 Dash Cam is a device that can record video and audio
information while driving. With this dvr (Digital Video Recorder) camera, you can
protect yourself and provide clear evidence from a car accident, vehicle damage
(with motion activated recording after your car is parked), unscrupulous drivers
and police officers, and/or other vehicle incidents. It can also provide recordings
to document travel, events, or views/landscapes while on road trips.
Please note that there are 2 versions of this camera, one version with a front camera,
and one version with a front and rear camera. If you did not order the version with a
rear camera, please disregard the rear camera features in this manual.
To use this device correctly, please read the full guide below before using.
Notice Before Use
1. Please use an original high-speed class 10 TF data card (not included) to store
videos and photos. Inferior cards (or cards not formatted) may not be
compatible with this device; if so, you may see a“file error” or “SD card
error ”message, or experience freezing and file reading issues. Up to a 32GB
TF card is supported.
2. You must format the memory card upon initial use. If there are existing videos
or photos on the card they will not be visible/readable by the dash cam as they
will be stored in a different format.
3. Pay attention to the insert direction of the card. There should be no resistance
and the card should go in easily and smoothly. If the card is inserted the wrong
way, it may damage the device and the card.
4. Please unplug the power cord (car charger lighter) when not in use, or when starting
the car, as electrical surges can occur (especially with older cars) that can damage the
dash camera.
5. This dvr device is specially designed for automobile use. Please use it inside

your car with a car charger. If your car is not on and the charger is not charging
the device, the built-in battery is very small, and will only hold the charge for a
very short period. Upon first use, the dash camera may need to be charged for
up to 30 minutes for a base charge to build up.
6. This device only allows electrical power of 5V 1A, so please DO NOT use any
home chargers or USB cables to recharge. You MUST only use the AceCam
original car charger, or certified replacement charges. Other charger adapter
have higher power output (e.g. 12V), which can burn out the device and void the
warranty. Also, please note that if the power coming from your vehicle has
interference (more likely with older vehicles), you may hear static noise from
the camera and see small lines on the screen. You can check the battery and
power connections in this case.

CONTROLS
FUNCTION
1. Cycle (Loop) Recording
Cycle recording usually has 1 min, 3 min, or 5 min loop settings. With this
recording feature, the dvr camera can overwrite old video (except locked video
that you select) automatically, so that the sd card will not fill up and can be
continually used.
2. Motion Detect
The motion detect feature can be used in dvr standby mode. If something moves
in front of your car, the dvr will detect it and start recording automatically. This
function can be used to protect your car even when you are not there.
3. G-SENSOR
G-Sensor means Gravity Sensor; this is another vehicle protection feature.
If your car receives external force suddenly (e.g. hit with another vehicle, person,
or object), the G-Sensor can sense and lock the most recent video loop
immediately. This locked video can be kept as evidence ofaccident, as it will not
be overwritten by the normal cycle recording.

any damage to your car like attempted theft, scratching, or denting. Please note
that there is only a limited charge in your camera for these recordings; to extend the
availability of parking recordings, you can buy an external power connector so your
dash cam will remain fully powered.
Reminder: all car dvr recorders have small batteries inside and will only record

FAQ:
Q: Why does my dvr camera indicate “SD card Full”?
A: 1) Please check if your memory card is an original brand high speed Class 10
memory card. If you use a lower class card like Class 4 or Class 6, it will indicate
“SD card full” because it is not compatible for high resolution/speed videos.
(Also please note: DVR max support is for 32GB cards)

2) Please check your dvr MENU settings if you have configured Loop Recording.
You must select Loop Recording ‘ON’for this function to enable overwriting of
videos.
3) Please check your dvr MENU settings if you have turned OFF G-Sensor, Parking
Monitor & Motion Detect. If G-Sensoris on, the file will be protected to lock
those files and they can not be overwritten, also the dvr will automatically go to
recording all the time if Parking Monitor & Motion Detect is on, so the SD card
will quickly fill.
4) Your storage card may have read/write issues with locked files and may need
regular formatting. Fully clear the card by reformatting manually. You may need to
do this manual cleaning if you regularly if you have a lot of locked files on the card.
Q: Why does my dvr camera turn on & off continuously?
A: Please check first if your dvr MENU settings are set on for the Parking
Monitor and G-Sensor. Normally when the dvr enters Parking Monitor the
camera will record automatically once it detects any touch or shake. Thus with
constant vibrations, it can automatically turn on and off continuously.
The G-Sensor will also lock video files to avoid overwriting and allowing you to keep
the files as parking evidence.
Please turn off these 2 functions in the MENU settings then try again if your
camera is turning off and on continuously.
Also, please try turning off the Motion Detect function in the MENU settings. If
Motion Detect is turned on, it will automatically initiate recording once there is
any movement detected from the front camera.

Q: Why does my dvr freeze while recording?
A: Please check if your memory card is an original brand high speed Class 10
memory card. If you use a lower class card like Class 4 or Class 6, it will indicate
“
SD card full” because it is not compatible for high resolution/speed videos.
If you change to a new card still experience freezing, it may be a dvrcamera
firmware problem, please contact the seller to upgrade yourcamerafirmware.
Q: Why is my dvr camera recording image not clear?
A: Please check the video link from the AceCam website (www.ace-cam.ca)
showing an actual image from this dashcam –your recording quality should
be very similar. Please note that there are also MENU settings to change the
quality (1080P, 720P, VGA options).
The highest quality image is 1080P, middle quality image is 720P, and lowest
quality
image is VGA. Normally the highest resolution, 1080P, is selected, unless
you have a very small storage card.
In addition, please note that video and image quality will also be affected by the
environment and will not be as clear during the night or with fog or mist.
