CONTROL BUTTONS
◀Used to go left through the Function menu and your messages,
to decrease the numbers through the functions like time, alarm,
date settings.
▶Used to go right through the Function menu and your messages,
to increase the numbers through the functions like time, alarm,
date settings.
Lamp On or Off / Used to display the Function menu / Escape
Used to read messages, to select a pager function
OPERATION
Turning Pager On
Press . "Pager On? Yes"isdisplayed. Press again.
When the pager is on and no activity is taking place, the Standby screen is displayed.
The Standby screen displays the service area indicator and may display other indicators
according to the current pager status.

1. From the Standby screen, press twice
to display the Function menu (Fig. 2)
2. Press ▶or ◀to move the cursor to .
3.Press ."Pager Off? No" is displayed.
4. Press ▶or ◀to display "Pager Off? Yes".
5. Press again to turn the pager off.
Your pager is now off and the screen is blank. disappears on the upper left corner.
Read Personal Message
Message Initial Screen (Fig. 3) Message Status Screen (Fig. 4)
1. From the Standby screen(Fig. 1), press to display the message initial screen.
Fig. 3 indicates that the current date is 19th May, 1999 (Wednesday) and blinks
when messages are left unread.
2. Press after Fig. 3 to display the Message status screen like Fig. 4.
3. In the Fig. 4, the very left black envelope symbol means the latest and unread message.
On the right lower corner, the pager shows the date when the message was received.

4. Press to read the message after moving
the flashing cursor by ▶or ◀.

Delete Personal Message
1. From the Message Screen(Fig. 5), press todisplay .

Here, if you want to delete all the messages, move the cursor to .

Lock Personal Message
Up to 30 messages can be locked to prevent them from being deleted or from being replaced
when memory is full.
1. From the Fig. 6, move the cursor to .
2. Press to lock the message.
Unlock Personal Message
First, read the locked message.
1. Press .
2. Move the cursor to and press to unlock the locked message.
Move Personal Message to Notebook
1. From the Fig. 6, move the cursor to .
2. Press to move the message to Notebook.
See Notebook on page 11 for more information.
Function Menu
The Function menu provides access to the many functions of your pager through the use of
symbols and their descriptions.
As you move through the Function menu, the pager will show the description of a function
the cursor selects.
The Function menu is initially displayed as shown in Fig.2.
Note: The icon indicators on the upper corner are displayed according to the current pager status.
Now let's go over the functions the pager provides.
1) Read MailDrop / Delete Individual & All MailDrop
1. From the Function menu screen as shown in Fig 2.,
press ▶or ◀tomovethecursorto .
indicates that you have one unread maildrop or more.
Note : When unread maildrop doesn't exist, the symbol displays .
2. Press to display the Maildrop status screen (Fig 7.).

The Maildrop status screen shows the current status of your maildrops.

For example, unread maildrops are indicated by and read maildrops are indicated by .
Its receiving date (May 18th) is displayed on the right lower corner.
3. Press ▶or ◀to move the flash to select the maildrop you want to read.
4. Press to read the selected maildrop.
In order to delete the maildrop(s),
1. Press while a maildrop is displayed on the pager screen.
2. Press ▶or ◀to move the cursor to .
Note: Move the cursor to to delete all the maildrops the pager has.
3. Press to delete the maildrop you selected.
2) Calendar
1. From the Function menu screen, press ▶or ◀to move the cursor to .
2. Press to display the calendar.
3. Press ▶or ◀to adjust the month and year.
3) Setting the Incoming Message Alert
1. From the Function menu screen, press ▶or ◀to move the cursor to .
2. Press to display the Choose alert menu (Fig. 8).

There are 4 different alert modes, an audible alert( ), a vibrating alert( ),
an audible alert after vibration( ) and no alert (completely silent)( ).
3. Press ▶or ◀to move the cursor to the desired alert mode. The pager gives a sample of
each alert pattern as you move through the alert mode.
Setting an Audible Alert
1. From the Choose alert menu, press while the cursor is moved to .
2. Press ▶or ◀to move through the alerts (3 tones/5 melodies) and press to select.

Setting the Incoming MailDrop Alert On/Off
While the cursor is moved to , press ▶or ◀to switch the MailDrop alert On/Off mode
and press to select your desired maildrop alert on/off mode.
: Maildrop Alert On (The pager alerts when it has a mail coming.)
: Maildrop Alert Off (The pager won't alert when it has a mail coming.)
Setting a Vibrating Alert
From the Choose alert menu, press while the cursor is moved to .
Setting an Audible Alert after Vibration
From the Choose alert menu, press while the cursor is moved to .
Setting No Alert
From the Choose alert menu, press while the cursor is moved to .
4) Setting the Date and Time
1. From the Function menu screen, press ▶or ◀to move the cursor to .
2. Press to display the Set Date and Time screen.
3. Press to move the cursor and press ▶or ◀to adjust the month, day, year,
AM/PM/24hr, hour, minutes and the display format of the date(MDY/DMY/YMD)
5) Setting the Alarm
The pager has an alarm that can be set for 1)a daily specific time and 2)a specific time and date,
and 3)a specific time and day.
1. From the Function menu screen, press ▶or ◀to move the cursor to .
2. Press to display the Set Alarm screen (Fig 9.)

3. The cursor is on No. 1. Press ▶or ◀to adjust the No. 1 through No. 3.
No. 1 alarm is set for a daily specific time.
For example, when the pager is on the daily specific time, am 6:00, it alarms at am 6:00
every day.
Note: No. 2 alarm is set for a specific time and day.
No. 3 alarm is set for a specific time and date.
4. Press while the cursor is on No 1. If you want to select No.1 alarm mode.

5. Press ▶or ◀to enable or disable the No.1 alarm mode and press to select.
Indicates that the alarm function is disabled.
6. Press ▶or ◀to adjust the hour and minutes.
6) Setting Auto Power On/Off
You can set the pager to automatically turn on and off. This feature can greatly improve battery
life.
1. From the Function menu screen, press ▶or ◀to move the cursor to .
2.Press .
3. To Enable : When this Auto power function is set On , is displayed on the upper
corner.
When the cursor is on , press to enable Auto On/Off function.
And press ▶or ◀to adjust the time.
Indicates the time when the pager automatically turns on and indicates the time
when it automatically turns off.
To Disable :
When the cursor is on , press ▶or ◀todisplay .
And press to disable. disappears on the upper corner.
7) Setting the Scroll On/Off
1. From the Function menu screen, press ▶or ◀to move the cursor to .
2.Press .
3. Press ▶or ◀to adjust the scrolling speed (Normal / Slow / Fast) and Off.
4. Press to select.
8) Reminder Alert for Unread Message
When you have a unread message or more, the pager gives periodic reminder alerts until all
unread messages are read.
1. From the Function menu screen, press ▶or ◀to move the cursor to .
2.Press .
3. Press ▶or ◀to enable( ) or disable ( ).
4. Press and press ▶or ◀to adjust the periodic reminder alert time(2, 5, 10, 15 and
30 minutes).
Note : Even though the pager is set to enable this reminder alert for unread messages, it
won't remind you when incoming message alert mode is set to "no alert".

9) Setting the Display Duration Time
When the pager is left unbuttoned for a certain period, the screen of pager is automatically
converted to be blank but is still ready to receive messages. This feature allows extending the
battery life.
1. From the Function menu screen, press ▶or ◀to move the cursor to .
2.Press .
3. Press ▶or ◀to adjust the display duration time (4, 8, 12, 16 and 20 sec)
4. Press to select.
10 Zoom In/Out
1. From the Function menu screen, press ▶or ◀to move the cursor to

11) Timepiece

12) Word Time
1. From the Function menu screen, press ▶or ◀to move the cursor to.

3. Press ▶or ◀to select the city ( Abu Dhabi, …, Bangkok, … , Vienna)
After adjust the City, Press , then the “*” mark is shown.
then you can see date & time of the city.
NoteBook
You can move the personal messages important to you to NoteBook to prevent them from deleted
accidentally. Up to 20 messages can be stored in NoteBook.
In order for you to read the message stored in NoteBook,
1. From the Message initial screen (Fig. 3), press .
2. Press ▶or ◀to move the flashing cursor and press to read the message in NoteBook.

Others
1) Memory Full Indicator ( )
When the memory is full with 50 messages, is displayed on the right lower corner in the
Message initial screen(Fig. 3).
2) Easy Way to Change Alert Mode
You can easily change the incoming alert mode by pressing ▶or ◀twice fast.
1. From the Message initial screen (Fig. 3), press ▶or ◀twice fast to change.
2. The alert mode is changed to the following steps.
[ Audible alert "Silence "Audible alert after vibration "Vibrating alert ]
As you press ▶or ◀twice fast, the indicators representing the incoming alert mode are
changed accordingly.
3) Out of Range
If the pager are outside your paging coverage area, disappears.
As long as is not displayed, the pager can not receive messages.
4) Battery Gauge
A battery gauge indicator on the upper corner keeps you informed of the battery level.
5) Automatic Message Deletion
If all the 50 message slots are full, the oldest, unlocked and previously read message is
automatically deleted when a new message is received.
When the message memory is full, is displayed.
Note : To prevent specific messages from being deleted, lock them or move to NoteBook.
6) Lamp On/Off
As long as the screen is not left blank, press for 1 second to turn lamp on and press
again for a second.
