5. Function Setup
5.1 Turning off the pager
Display after press the Function Key under the Date/Time display mode.
Press Selection Key until the display is as follows:
“PAGER OFF?” will be displayed to remind the user again after the Function key is pressed. The pager
will be switched off and no display will be shown on the screen if the Function key is pressed again.
5.2 Turning on the pager
Pressing the Message Key in the “switch off” situation will turn on the pager. Date and time will be
displayed on the screen.
6. SETTING ALERT
“SET ALERT” will be displayed after the Function Key is pressed in Date/Time mode. Press the Function
Key again to display the following:
Press the Selection Key to move the cursor that indicates the chosen section.
Press the Function key to confirm this selection of the cursor. The display will return to Date/Time mode.
Press the Message Key to cancel the selection of the cursor. The display again return to Date/Time mode .
7. SETTING DATE AND TIME
“SET ALERT” will be displayed after the Function Key is pressed in Date/Time mode. Press the Selection
Key “SET TIME” will be displayed. Then press the Function Key again, and the following will be
displayed:
Press the Function Key to add numbers; Press the Selection Key to move the cursor; Press the

Message Key to confirm and return to Date/Time mode.
8. SETTING THE ALARM
“SET ALERT” will be displayed when the Function Key is pressed in Date/Time mode. Keep pressing the
Selection Key until “SET ALARM” is displayed. Press the Function Key again to confirm and enter the
alarm clock setting mode shown below:
Press the Selection Key to move the cursor and press the Function Key to add or switch “ON/OFF”,
“AM/PM”. “1” indicates the first alarm clock. When the cursor flashes on it, you can press the Function Key
to add another two alarms clock and set them respectively, then press the Message Key to confirm your
setting and return to the previous mode.
9. SETTING CONTRAST LEVEL
“SET ALERT” will be displayed after pressing the Function key in Date/Time mode. Keep pressing the
Selection key until “SET CONTRAST” is displayed, then press the Function key to confirm and enter the
Contrast Level Set mode shown below:
Pressing the Selection key will reduce the contrast, pressing the Function key will increase the contrast,
and pressing the Message key will confirm your settings and return to the previous mode.
10. SETTING THE “VIEW MESSAGE” MODE
“SET ALERT” will be displayed after the Function Key is pressed in Date/Time mode. Press the Selection
Key until “READ MODE” is displayed, then press the Function Key to confirm and enter setup mode with
the display “PAGE-BY-PAGE”. Press the Selection Key to select “SLOW?”, “MEDIUM?” or “FAST?” ,
each of which indicate different speed of automatic message viewing. Press the Function Key to confirm
and return to previous mode.
11. INPUT GREETING MESSAGE
“SET ALERT” will be displayed when the Function Key is pressed in Date/Time mode. Press the
Selection Key until “INPUT GREETING” is displayed, then press the Function Key to confirm and enter

setup mode. If a greeting message already exists, it will be displayed, and the cursor will be placed at the
beginning. If no greeting message already exists, nothing will be displayed and the cursor will also be at
the beginning. Press the Function Key to input letters. Press the Selection Key to move the cursor to the
right. Press the Message Key to move the cursor to the left. When the cursor moves out of the right border,
the message will be saved and the display return to the previous mode. When the cursor moves out of the
left border, present input will be cancelled.
12. DELETING ALL MESSAGES
“SET ALERT” will be displayed when the Function Key is pressed in Date/Time mode. If there are
messages, press the Selection Key until “ DELETE MESSAGES” is displayed. Press the Function Key,
the warning “DELETE?” will be displayed, then press the Function Key again to confirm and delete all
messages. (Locked and unread private messages will not be deleted.)
13. VIEWING MESSAGES
When a private message is received, the alert will start (no alert under quiet mode), and the first page will
be displayed on the screen. It will return to Date/Time mode if no key is pressed within 8 seconds. If it’s
an unread message, the icon [ ] will be shown at the down right corner as shown below:
14. CONTINUED MESSAGE
When the message received is on more than one page, the continued message icon is shown at the
down right corner. Pressing any key will move to the next page.
15. LOCKING A MESSAGE
In Viewing Message mode, press the Function Key . “LOCK?” will be displayed. Then press the Function
Key again to lock the present message. Pressing the Message Key before pressing the locking
confirmation key will return to Date/Time mode and will not lock the present message.
16. UNLOCKING A MESSAGE
When viewing a locked message, press the Function Key . “UNLOCK ?” will be displayed. Press the
Function Key again to unlock this message. Pressing the Message Key before pressing the confirmation
key will return to Date/Time mode, and the message will not be released.
17. DELETING SPECIFIC MESSAGES
In Viewing Message mode, press the Function Key . “LOCK?” will be displayed. Press the Selection Key

once and the pager will display “DELETE?”. Press the Function Key to confirm the operation and return
to Date/Time mode. Pressing the Message Key before pressing the confirmation key will cancel the
operation and return to Date/Time mode.
18. DUPLICATE MESSAGES
When the same message is received more than once, the duplication icon [ ] will be displayed in the
icon group.
19. LOW VOLTAGE INDICATOR
When the battery voltage is low, the low voltage icon [ ] will be displayed in the center of the icon
group. It disappears automatically when a new battery is inserted.
20. BACKLIGHT
Pressing any key for 2 seconds in any operation mode will turn on the back light, and pressing any key for
another 2 seconds will turn it off. When it’s already on, it will be turned off with the LCD if no key is
pressed within 8 seconds.
21. SERVICE RANGE INDUCATION
When the pager is out of its service range, the antenna icon [ ] is disappear in the icon group.
22. PUBLIC MESSAGES
In Date/Time mode, press the Selection Key. “ MAIL DROP ” will be displayed. You can press the
Message Key to view public messages.
