INFORMATION
This manual contains the technical installation and important instructions for correct commissioning and
usage, as well as production information according to the current status before printing. The content of
this manual and the technical product data may be changed without prior notice. ADDI-DATA GmbH
reserves the right to make changes to the technical data and the materials included herein.
The user is not permitted to make changes to the product beyond the intended use, or to interfere with
the product in any other way.
ADDI-DATA shall not be liable for obvious printing and phrasing errors. In addition, ADDI DATA, if legally
permissible, shall not be liable for personal injury or damage to materials caused by improper installation
and/or commissioning of the product by the user or improper use, for example, if the product is operated
despite faulty safety and protection devices, or if notes in the operating instructions regarding transport,
storage, installation, commissioning, operation, thresholds, etc. are not taken into consideration.
Liability is further excluded if the operator changes the product or the source code files without authorisation
and/or if the operator is guilty of not monitoring the permanent operational capability of working parts
and this has led to damage.

right to use this software if he/she agrees with the conditions of this license.
The software must only be used to set up the ADDI-DATA products.
Reproduction of the software is forbidden (except for back-up and for exchange of faulty data carriers).
Disassembly, decompilation, decryption and reverse engineering of the software are forbidden. This
license and the software may be transferred to a third party if this party has acquired a product by
purchase, has agreed to all the conditions in this license contract and the original owner does not keep

BRIEF DESCRIPTION
MSX-AI-5000 edge vision systems are intended to capture video streams from several industrial cameras,
to run embedded vision algorithms in real-time, and to visualize the ongoing processing as a live stream.
The system comes with two user interfaces: an Android application and a web browser interface. They
allow you to setup, monitor and live visualize the machine vision applications. The web browser interface
also allows you to centrally manage the deployed devices.

CONNECTING
THE PERIPHERALS
Power supply
Connect the power supply cable to the DC IN 12~24V port of the module and to your power grid.
Ethernet
If you need to establish a wired connection, plug the Ethernet cable to the module’s LAN port and to your
internal Ethernet network.
Cameras
• If you use Ethernet cameras, connect them to the module’s Power Over Ethernet (PoE) ports.
• If you use USB cameras, connect them to the module’s USB ports.
Antennas (optional)
If needed, connect the Wi-Fi antennas to the ANT ports.

DOWNLOAD THE
ANDROID APPLICATION
The Android application can be downloaded from the
Google Play Store by searching for "Addi-Data".
You can also simply scan this QR Code to download it.

USER GUIDE
Turn on the MSX-AI-5000 and wait a few minutes for the system to boot up.
There are 2 options to connect the system to the application:
• by Wi-Fi hotspot
• by local Ethernet network
Connection to the system

In the Wi-Fi menu of your device, connect to the Wi-Fi
network named ADDI-DATA-XXXXXX.
The default password is the serial number.
Since this hotspot doesn’t provide internet connection,
your device may display an error message.
Please ignore this pop-up and
don’t disconnect your device from
the network.
Wi-Fi hotspot
• Open the application.
• Click on "YES" to accept the access requests (GPS and
media file) and start the application.
You are in the section to connect the system to the application by Wi-Fi hotspot.
If you want to connect by local Ethernet network, please go to the next section.

Local Ethernet network
You are in the section to connect the system to the application by local
Ethernet network. If you want to connect by Wi-Fi, please go to the previous section.
Make sure that your device is in the same Ethernet subnet
as the MSX-AI-5000. If not, you can modify the range of IP
addresses to scan within the "Advanced settings" options.
Contact your network administrator to find out the address
of the subnet.

Select the agent of your choice.
At this step, you have access to the following
information: the name of the agent, the MAC
adress and the type of connection with the
icons.
Click on "DETECT AGENTS" to search for devices on
the Ethernet network.
Select agent(s)
If you have used the
application before and
successfully connected to
an Agent, this Agent will
appear in the list of «Agents
already known by the
system». When you open
this page, the system will
automatically scan for the
presence of these Agents
in the network and there
will be no need to launch a
detection manually.

If you start the application for the first time, you have to create an account.
Create a new account
If you already have an account, please go to the next section.
To create an account, all fields are mandatory.
The name field must contain between 3 and 30 characters.
The field for the email address must contain "@".
The password must contain the following criteria:
The first user of the application to create an account must be an administrator.
• must be of a least 8 characters
• must contain a lowercase, an uppercase, a number and a special character

Log in to the user account provided by your organization.
There are differents ways to access to the menu of the application. You
can either click on the ADDI-DATA logo at the top left corner, or just swipe
left to right to open menu and swipe right to left to close menu.

an icon, making it easier to
understand and find your way
around.

Within the menu, click on the "Smart sensors" tab to
access the sensor settings.

Configure camera(s)
Select the camera you want to configure.
A symbol for each camera appears in the right top corner, it represents
the type of connection of the camera.
You can set different parameters depending on the cameras. The updates
are displayed in real-time. The settings you’ve made are stored in the
system.

Within the menu, click on the "Tasks" tab to open the task menu.
Task launch
Access to tasks
With this you can adjust the exposure
manually or just put an automatic exposure.
Here you can adjust the gain of the video
stream to manage the visual noise.
You can adjust the temperature, red for warm
temperature and blue for cold temperature.
At this step, you can see diffrent parameters which
can be modified in real time.

Click on "ADD TASK".
Add task(s)
Select the task of your choice.
To illustrate this user guide, we have selected
the task "Check the conformity of plastic
cover parts".

Select the camera(s) on which you want to run the task and
click on "NEXT".

Click on "+" to add a zone on the video stream and set the zone
manually. You can adjust parameters.
Configuration of the task
Some tasks do not have specific settings.
Click here to switch to fullscreen. That way setting the zone(s)
becomes easier.
Click on "FINISH" to validate your settings.
Click on "+" or "-" to adjust the size of your zones.
Click on "CANCEL" to cancel your action and return to
"zone overwiew".

You can set several zones for the same camera.
Simply repeat the previous step.
Click on "EDIT" to modify the zone’s name or click on
"DELETE" to delete the zone.
