Regulations, Standards, Guidelines
This appliance was designed or household use and was manu actured in
accordance with the appropriate standards. The necessary measures in
accordance with appliance sa ety legislation regulations (GSG), accident
prevention regulations or re rigeration appliances (VBG 20) and the regu-
lations o the German Society o Electrical Engineers (VDE) were observed in

Safety
Please read this instruction book be ore using the appliance and retain or
uture re erence. These warnings are provided in the interests o your sa e-
ty, ensure you understand them ully be ore using the appliance.
Intended use
• The appliance is intended or use in the home. It is suitable or the coo-
ling, reezing and storing o rozen ood, as well as or making ice. I the
appliance is used or purposes other than those intended or used incor-
rectly, no liability can be accepted by the manu acturer or any damage
that may be caused.
• Alterations or changes to the appliance are not permitted or reasons o
sa ety.
Prior to initial start–up
• Check the appliance or transport damage. Under no circumstance should
a damaged appliance be plugged in! In the event o damage, please con-
tact your retailer.
Refrigerant
The re rigerant isobutane (R600a) is contained within the re rigerant circuit
o the appliance, a natural gas with a high level o environmental compat-
ibility, which is nevertheless lammable.
• During transportation and installation o the appliance, be certain that
none o the components o the re rigerant circuit become damaged.
• I the re rigerant circuit should become damaged:
– avoid open lames and sources o ignition;
– thoroughly ventilate the room in which the appliance is situated.
Safety of children
• Keep packaging material away rom children.
• Please make old appliances unusable prior to disposal. Pull out the mains
plug, cut o the mains cable and remove any locks or catches, to prevent
young children being trapped inside.
• Do not allow children to tamper with the controls or play with the pro-
duct.

Daily Operation
• Containers with lammable gases or liquids can leak at low temperatures.
There is a risk o an explosion! Do not store any containers with lamma-
ble materials such as, spray cans, ire extinguisher re ill cartridges etc in
the re rigerator/ reezer.
• Bottles and cans must not be placed in the reezer compartment. They can
burst when the contents reeze, high carbonate content drinks can even
explode! Never store lemonade, juices, beer, wine, sparkling wine etc. in
the reezer compartment.
• Ice cream or ice cubes can cause “ rost/ reezer” burns i consumed strai-
ght rom the reezer.
• Do not touch rozen ood with wet hands. Your hands could stick to the
ood.
• Do not operate any electrical appliances in the re rigerator/ reezer (e.g.
electric ice cream makers, mixers etc.).
• Be ore cleaning the appliance, always switch o the appliance and
disconnect rom the electricity supply.
• When unplugging always pull the plug rom the mains socket, do not pull
on the cable.
Service
• Under no circumstances should you attempt to repair the appliance your-
sel . Repairs carried out by inexperienced persons may cause injury or
serious mal unctioning. Contact your local AEG Service Force Centre.
Disposal
Appliance Packaging Information
All materials are environmentally sound.
The plastics can be recycled and are identi ied as ollows:
>PE< or polyethylene, e.g. the outer covering and the bags in the interior.
>PS< or polystyrene oam, e.g. the pads, which are all ree o chloro luo-
rocarbon.
The carton parts are made rom recycled paper and should be disposed o
at a waste-paper recycling collection location.

Fasten the appliance with 4 screws
provided in the kit included with the

Remove transport packaging
The appliance and the interior ittings are protected or transport.
• Remove all adhesive tape and packing pieces rom the interior o the
appliance.
Shelf holders
Your appliance is equipped with shel
retainers that make it possible to
secure the shelves during transporta-
tion.
To remove them proceed as ollows:
Raise the shel rom the back, push it
in the direction o the arrow until it
is reed and remove the retainers.

Disposal of old Appliances
For environmental reasons, re rigeration appliances must be disposed o
properly. This applies to your old appliance, and - at the end o its service
li e - to your new appliance as well.
Warning! Be ore disposing o old appliances make them inoperable.
Remove plug rom mains, sever the power cable, remove or destroy any
snap or latch closures, to prevent small children being trapped inside.
• Use an authorised disposal site.
Contact your Local Council or Environmental Health O ice to see i there
are acilities in your area to recycle the appliance.

Inner door reversal
1. Using a screwdriver release bracket
(1) by pressing on the internal spring
and withdraw it rom its seat
together with the door; remove plug
(2) and it it in the hole le t open on
the opposite side; turn the door
through 180°, remove the bracket (1)
and re it it on the opposite side.
2. Re it the door and insert the top pin
and bottom bracket (1), pushing it
into place.
To ensure correct storage o ood, the door is itted with a simple spring
device which holds it in the open position until it is properly closed.

Starting up and temperature regulation
Wash the inside o the appliance with lukewarm water with a little bicar-
bonate o soda added (5ml to 0,5 litre o water). Do not use soap or deter-
gent as the smell may linger. Dry the appliance thoroughly.
• When the re rigerator compartment door is opened, the internal lighting
is switched on. The temperature control knob is located on the right hand
side o the re rigerator compartment.
Setting “0”: O .
Setting “1”: Hightest temperature, (warmest setting).
Setting “6” (end-stop) : Lowest temperature, (coldest setting).
The exact setting should be chosen keeping in mind that the temperature
inside the re rigerator depends on:
-the quantity o ood stored
-how o ten the door is opened
The temperatures in the re rigerator compartment and reezer compart-
ment cannot be independently regulated.
I you want to reeze resh ood rapidly, select setting “6”, ensuring that the
temperature in the re rigerator compartment does not drop below 0°C. You
should reset the temperature control knob to setting “3” or “4”, i this does
occur.
As soon as the resh ood placed in the reezer has rozen, return the tem-
perature control knob to “3” or “4”.
Important!
High ambient temperatures (e.g. on hot summer days) and a cold setting on
the temperature regulator (position"5" to "6") can cause the compressor to
run continuously.
I this happens, turn the temperature control knob back to a warmer set-
ting (position "3" to "4"). At this setting the compressor will be switched on
and o as usual and automatic de rosting recommenced.

Positioning
This appliance should only be installed at a location where the ambient
temperature corresponds to the climate classi ication indicated on the rat-
ing plate, which is located on the inside le t o the appliance.
The ollowing table shows which ambient temperature is correct or each

Reversing the door
The side the door opens can be changed rom the right side ( actory adjust-
ment) to the le t side, i the installation site requires.
Warning! When changing the side the door opens, the appliance must not
be connected to the mains. Remove plug rom the mains be orehand.
The appliance should be located in a dry atmosphere, out o direct sunlight
and away rom continuous heat and extreme temperature, e.g. not next to
a boiler or radiator, or in a very cold room e.g. an outhouse. I these tem-
peratures are exceeded i.e. warmer or colder, then the appliance may not
operate correctly.

Interior Accessories
Storage Shelves
The glass shel above the ruit and
vegetable compartment should
always remain in position, to ensure
ruit and vegetables stay resh longer.
The remaining storage shelves can be
adjusted to various heights:
Pull the storage shel orward until it
can be tipped up or down and remo-
ved.
To insert at a di erent height use the same procedure in reverse.
Adjustment or tall goods:
Remove the ront hal o the two-part vario glass storage shel and insert it
at a di erent level. Space is thus gained or storage o tall goods on the
underlying storage shel .
Variable Inner Door
The door compartments can be pulled up and removed, and inserted at
other positions as needed.
Fresh food refrigeration
To obtain the best per ormance:
• do not store warm ood or evaporating liquid in the re rigerator
• do cover or wrap the ood, particularly i it has a strong lavour.
• Position ood so that air can circuiate reely round it.
Use ul hints:
Meat (all types): wrap in polythene bags and place on the glass shel above
the vegetable drawer(s)
For safety, store in this way only one or two days at the most.
Cooked foods, cold dishes, etc: these should be covered and may be placed
on any shel .
Fruit and vegeta les: these should be thoroughly cleaned and placed in the
special drawer(s) provided.

Installation
Electrical Connection
Any electrical work required to install this appliance should be carried
out by a quali ied electrician or competent person.
WARNING – THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED
The manufacturer declines any lia ility should these safety measures not
e o served.
Be ore switching on, make sure the electricity supply voltage is the same as
that indicated on the appliance rating plate. The rating plate is inside, on the
le t.
The appliance is supplied with a 13 amp plug itted. In the event o having
to change the use in the plug supplied, a 13 amp ASTA approved (BS 1362)
use must be used.
Important!
The wires in the mains lead are
coloured in accordance with the ol-
lowing code:

As the colours o the wires in the
mains lead o this appliance may not
correspond with the coloured mark-
ings identi ying the terminals in your
plug, proceed as ollows:
1. The wire coloured green and yellow must be connected to the terminal
marked with the letter “E” or by the earth symbol or coloured green and yel-
low.
2. The wire coloured blue must be connected to the terminal marked “N” or
coloured black.
3. The wire coloured brown must be connected to the terminal marked “L” or
coloured red.
4. Upon completion there must be no cut, or stray strands o wire present and
the cord clamp must be secure over the outer sheath.
Warning! A cut-o plug inserted into a 13 amp socket is a serious sa ety
(shock) hazard. Ensure that the cut-o plug is disposed o sa ely.

Butter and cheese: these should be placed in special airtight containers or
wrapped in aluminium oil or polythene bags to exclude as much air as pos-
sible.
Milk ottles: these should have a cap and should be stored in the bottle
rack on the door.
Bananas, potatoes, onions and garlic, if not in airtight containers, must
not e kept in the refrigerator.
Freezing and storing frozen food
You can use your reezer or reezing resh ood yoursel .
Important!
• The temperature in the reezer compartment must be –18 °C or colder
be ore reezing ood.
• Please observe the reezing capacity given on the rating plate. The ree-
zing capacity is the maximum quantity o resh ood that can be rozen
within a period o 24 hours. I you wish to reeze ood several days in a
row, please observe a maximum capacity o only 2/3 to 3/4 o that on the
rating plate. The quality o the ood is best preserved when it is rozen
right through to the core as quickly as possible.
• Allow warm ood to cool down be ore reezing. The warmth will cause
increased ice ormation and increase the power consumption.
• Please note the maximum storage times speci ied by the manu acturer.
• Thawed oods which have not been processed urther (cooked into meals)
may not under any circumstances be rozen a second time.
• Containers with lammable gases or liquids can leak at low temperatures.

dry out or lose their lavour, and so that no lavour contamination o

Guarantee Conditions
Guarantee Conditions
AEG o er the ollowing guarantee to the irst purchaser o this appliance.
1. The guarantee is valid or 12 months commencing when the appliance is handed over to
the irst retail purchaser, which must be veri ied by purchase invoice or similar documen-
tation.
The guarantee does not cover commercial use.
2. The guarantee covers all parts or components which ail due to aulty workmanship or
aulty materials. The guarantee does not cover appliances where de ects or poor per or-
mance are due to misuse, accidental damage, neglect, aulty.installation, unauthorised
modi ication or attempted repair, commercial use or ailure to observe requirements and
recommendations set out in the instruction book.
This guarantee does not cover such parts as light bulbs, removable glassware, or plastic.
3. Should guarantee repairs be necessary the purchaser must in orm the nearest customer
service o ice (manu acturer’s service or authorised agent). AEG reserves the right to sti-
pulate the place o the repair (i.e. the customer’s home, place o installation or AEG work-
shop).
4. The guarantee or ree replacement includes both labour and materials.
5. Repairs carried out under guarantee do not extend the guarantee period or the applian-
ce. Parts removed during guarantee repairs become the property o AEG.
6. The purchaser’s statutory rights are not a ected by this guarantee.
European Guarantee
I you should move to another country within Europe then your guarantee moves with you
to your new home subject to the ollowing quali ications:
- The guarantee starts rom the date you irst purchased your product.
- The guarantee is or the same period and to the same extent or labour and parts as exist
in the new country o use or this brand or range o products.
- This guarantee relates to you and cannot be trans erred to another user.
- Your new home is within the European Community (EC) or European Free Trade Area.
- The product is installed and used in accordance with our instructions and is only used
domestically, i.e. a normal household.
- The product is installed taking into account regulations in your new country.

1. Place the packed ood in the drawers. Place ood to be rozen in the upper
drawer. Un rozen ood must not touch items already rozen, otherwise the
rozen ood could begin to de rost.
2. Place rozen oods in the drawers sorted by type, as ar as possible. Index
tabs are supplied or placing on drawers. To mark the contents o the indi-
vidual drawers, press the index tab over the corresponding symbol (see "Fro-
zen Food Symbols/Freezer Calendar" section). This will give you a better
overview o the contents, avoid extended door opening and there ore save
electricity.
Preparation of Ice Cubes
1. Fill the ice cube tray 3/4 ull with cold water, place it in the reezer com-
partment and leave to reeze.
2. To loosen the rozen cubes, either twist the ice cube tray or hold it under
running water or a ew seconds.
Important! Never try to ree an ice tray that is rozen to the reezer com-
partment using pointed or sharp edged objects. Use the ice scraper supplied.
Defrosting
Refrigerator
Frost is automatically eliminated rom the evaporator o the re rigerator
compartment every time the motor compressor stops, during normal use.
The de rost water drains out through a trough into a special container at
the back o the appliance, located over the motor compressor, where it
evaporates.
Freezer
The reezer compartment, however, will become progressively covered with
rost. This should be removed with the special plastic scraper provided,
whenever the thickness o the rost exceeds 4 mm. During this operation it
is not necessary to switch o the power supply or to remove the oodstu s.
However when the ice becomes very thick on the inner liner, complete
de rosting should be carried out as ollows:
1. Remove the rozen ood rom the reezer, wrap it in several layers o new-
spaper and put it in a very cool place.
2. Switch o the appliance and pull out the plug or turn the temperature
selector to “0” OFF.
3. Leave the reezer compartment door open.

4. Turn the thermostat knob to the required setting and replace the plug in the
power socket.
Warning!
Never use metal tools to scrape o the rost
Do not use a mechanical device or any arti icial means to speed up the
thawing process other than those recommended by the manu acturer.
A temperature rise o the rozen ood packs, during de rosting, may shor-
ten their sa e storage li e.
Switching off the appliance
To switch o the appliance, turn the temperature regulator to position "0"
or disconnect rom the electricity supply.
If the appliance is not going to e used for an extended period:
1. Remove all re rigerated and deep- rozen packages as well as ice trays.
2. Remove the mains plug or switch o .
3. De rost reezer compartment and clean thoroughly (see section: “Cleaning
and Care”).
4. Leave the door open to avoid the build up o odours.
Cleaning and Care
For hygienic reasons the appliance interior, including interior accessories,
should be cleaned regularly.
Warning!
Be ore carrying out any cleaning or maintenance, disconnect the appliance
rom the electricity supply.

Switching off the appliance
To switch o the appliance, turn the temperature regulator to position "0"

1. Place the packed ood in the drawers. Place ood to be rozen in the upper
drawer. Un rozen ood must not touch items already rozen, otherwise the
rozen ood could begin to de rost.
2. Place rozen oods in the drawers sorted by type, as ar as possible. Index
tabs are supplied or placing on drawers. To mark the contents o the indi-
vidual drawers, press the index tab over the corresponding symbol (see "Fro-
zen Food Symbols/Freezer Calendar" section). This will give you a better
overview o the contents, avoid extended door opening and there ore save
electricity.
Preparation of Ice Cubes
1. Fill the ice cube tray 3/4 ull with cold water, place it in the reezer com-
partment and leave to reeze.
2. To loosen the rozen cubes, either twist the ice cube tray or hold it under
running water or a ew seconds.
Important! Never try to ree an ice tray that is rozen to the reezer com-
partment using pointed or sharp edged objects. Use the ice scraper supplied.
Defrosting
Refrigerator
Frost is automatically eliminated rom the evaporator o the re rigerator
compartment every time the motor compressor stops, during normal use.
The de rost water drains out through a trough into a special container at
the back o the appliance, located over the motor compressor, where it
evaporates.
Freezer
The reezer compartment, however, will become progressively covered with
rost. This should be removed with the special plastic scraper provided,
whenever the thickness o the rost exceeds 4 mm. During this operation it
is not necessary to switch o the power supply or to remove the oodstu s.
However when the ice becomes very thick on the inner liner, complete
de rosting should be carried out as ollows:
1. Remove the rozen ood rom the reezer, wrap it in several layers o new-
spaper and put it in a very cool place.
2. Switch o the appliance and pull out the plug or turn the temperature
selector to “0” OFF.
3. Leave the reezer compartment door open.

Butter and cheese: these should be placed in special airtight containers or
wrapped in aluminium oil or polythene bags to exclude as much air as pos-
sible.
Milk ottles: these should have a cap and should be stored in the bottle
rack on the door.
Bananas, potatoes, onions and garlic, if not in airtight containers, must
not e kept in the refrigerator.
Freezing and storing frozen food
You can use your reezer or reezing resh ood yoursel .
Important!
• The temperature in the reezer compartment must be –18 °C or colder
be ore reezing ood.
• Please observe the reezing capacity given on the rating plate. The ree-
zing capacity is the maximum quantity o resh ood that can be rozen
within a period o 24 hours. I you wish to reeze ood several days in a
row, please observe a maximum capacity o only 2/3 to 3/4 o that on the
rating plate. The quality o the ood is best preserved when it is rozen
right through to the core as quickly as possible.
• Allow warm ood to cool down be ore reezing. The warmth will cause
increased ice ormation and increase the power consumption.
• Please note the maximum storage times speci ied by the manu acturer.
• Thawed oods which have not been processed urther (cooked into meals)
may not under any circumstances be rozen a second time.
• Containers with lammable gases or liquids can leak at low temperatures.
There is a risk o an explosion! Do not store any containers with lamma-
ble materials such as, or example, spray cans, ire extinguisher re ill car-
tridges etc in the re rigerator/ reezer.
• Bottles and cans must not be placed in the reezer. They can burst when
the contents reeze, high carbonate content drinks can even explode!
Never store lemonade, juices, beer, wine, sparkling wine etc. in the reezer.
• All oods must be packed air tight prior to reezing, so that they do not
dry out or lose their lavour, and so that no lavour contamination o
other rozen goods occurs.
Important! Do not touch rozen ood with wet hands. Your hands could
stick to the ood.

Storage Shelves
The glass shel above the ruit and
vegetable compartment should
always remain in position, to ensure
ruit and vegetables stay resh longer.
The remaining storage shelves can be
adjusted to various heights:
Pull the storage shel orward until it
can be tipped up or down and remo-
ved.
To insert at a di erent height use the same procedure in reverse.
Adjustment or tall goods:
Remove the ront hal o the two-part vario glass storage shel and insert it
at a di erent level. Space is thus gained or storage o tall goods on the
underlying storage shel .
Variable Inner Door
The door compartments can be pulled up and removed, and inserted at
other positions as needed.
Fresh food refrigeration
To obtain the best per ormance:
• do not store warm ood or evaporating liquid in the re rigerator
• do cover or wrap the ood, particularly i it has a strong lavour.
• Position ood so that air can circuiate reely round it.
Use ul hints:
Meat (all types): wrap in polythene bags and place on the glass shel above
the vegetable drawer(s)
For safety, store in this way only one or two days at the most.
Cooked foods, cold dishes, etc: these should be covered and may be placed

Electrical Connection
Any electrical work required to install this appliance should be carried
out by a quali ied electrician or competent person.

Starting up and temperature regulation
Wash the inside o the appliance with lukewarm water with a little bicar-
bonate o soda added (5ml to 0,5 litre o water). Do not use soap or deter-
gent as the smell may linger. Dry the appliance thoroughly.
• When the re rigerator compartment door is opened, the internal lighting
is switched on. The temperature control knob is located on the right hand
side o the re rigerator compartment.
Setting “0”: O .
Setting “1”: Hightest temperature, (warmest setting).
Setting “6” (end-stop) : Lowest temperature, (coldest setting).
The exact setting should be chosen keeping in mind that the temperature
inside the re rigerator depends on:
-the quantity o ood stored
-how o ten the door is opened
The temperatures in the re rigerator compartment and reezer compart-
ment cannot be independently regulated.
I you want to reeze resh ood rapidly, select setting “6”, ensuring that the
temperature in the re rigerator compartment does not drop below 0°C. You
should reset the temperature control knob to setting “3” or “4”, i this does
occur.
As soon as the resh ood placed in the reezer has rozen, return the tem-
perature control knob to “3” or “4”.
Important!
High ambient temperatures (e.g. on hot summer days) and a cold setting on
the temperature regulator (position"5" to "6") can cause the compressor to
run continuously.
I this happens, turn the temperature control knob back to a warmer set-
ting (position "3" to "4"). At this setting the compressor will be switched on
and o as usual and automatic de rosting recommenced.

Reversing the door
The side the door opens can be changed rom the right side ( actory adjust-
ment) to the le t side, i the installation site requires.
Warning! When changing the side the door opens, the appliance must not
be connected to the mains. Remove plug rom the mains be orehand.
The appliance should be located in a dry atmosphere, out o direct sunlight
and away rom continuous heat and extreme temperature, e.g. not next to
a boiler or radiator, or in a very cold room e.g. an outhouse. I these tem-
peratures are exceeded i.e. warmer or colder, then the appliance may not
operate correctly.

1. Using a screwdriver release bracket
(1) by pressing on the internal spring
and withdraw it rom its seat
