• Placement / Operation of Product
SWX-200P
Placement
As a general rule, bass response increases as a
subwoofer is placed on the ground closer to a wall.
Therefore the bass output is maximized when the
subwoofer is placed in a corner. Positioning your
powered subwoofer as recommended should
provide the best results. But since every facility has
different acoustical characteristicsAhuja
recommends experimenting with the positioning of
your subwoofer to obtain the most pleasing results.
Power
The SWX-200P is equipped with a Main power
switch. In order to function the SWX-200P must be
plugged into an active electrical outlet, and the
Main power switch must be turned on.
Level control
The subwoofer volume control adjusts the output
level of the subwoofer relative to the rest of the
system. Proper level adjustment depends on
several variables such as room size, subwoofer
placement and type of satellite, wall or ceiling
speakers used. The subwoofer level should be
adjusted so that volume of bass information seems
pleasing. In case the CLIP LED flickers, it is
recommended to turn down the output level from
the subwoofer. This will prevent the excess power
from damaging the SWX-200P woofer.
Crossover Adjustments
The crossover frequency selector switch located
on the top chassis of the powered subwoofer
SWX-200P determines the highest frequency at
which the subwoofer reproduces the bass sound.
When using larger speakers that reproduce
sufficiently low frequencies, for exampleAhuja
model PS-400T and PS-500T, set this switch to 80
Hz. This will concentrate the subwoofers efforts on
the ultradeep bass sounds required by todays films
and music. If you are using smaller speakers
example Ahuja model PS-300T, Ahuja ceiling and
wall speakers whose response does not extend to
the lower bass frequencies then set the low pass
crossover switch to 120Hz.
Subwoofer Effects
Adding a subwoofer to your speaker system
expands the bandwidth of the bass range.
However, if the subwoofer’s reproduction
bandwidth or sound output level is improperly
adjusted, the overall performance may decrease,
as shown in the graphs below.
