INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing our Alcom Premium Designer DECT phone ADT1308. This manual is designed to
familiarize you with this phone. To get the maximum use of the phone, we suggest that you read this instruction
manual carefully before using.

IMPORTANTNOTICE:
1. Please charge the battery for at least 12 hours before using.
2. To keep the batteries charged, whenever you don’t need to use the handset (such as overnight, or when
you go out), leave the handset on the charge cradle.
3. When the unit is powered on initially, the date and time will be blinking, please set the date and time first
SAFETY INSTRUCTION
When using your telephone equipment, the following basic safety precautions should always be followed to
reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury to persons:
1. Read, understand and follow all warnings and instructions
2. Unplug the product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners.
Use a soft damp cloth for cleaning.
3. Do not place this product on unstable surfaces. The product may drop, causing serious damage to the
product.
4. Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords as this can result in fire or electric shock.
5. Never push foreign objects of any kind into this product through cabinet slots as they may affect
dangerous voltage points or short circuit parts that could result in fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of
any kind on the product.
6. Avoid moving or disconnecting this unit during a heavy storm, as there may be a remote risk of electric
shock from lightning and thunder.
7. Unauthorized persons cannot open or service even if there is a defect with the unit. This will
void the warranty, please send to service center for any defects.

Icon Description Function
ANTENNA
The antenna icon will always be shown on the LCD, it indicates for Signal
strength, flashes when registration to base is lost.
OFF HOOK
The icon will be displayed when the user has pressed key
KEYLOCK_IND
This icon will be displayed when the handset keypad is locked.
ALARM_IND
The alarm icon will be shown as steady on when the alarm is set.
The alarm icon will flash when the alarm is triggered.
RING OFF
The icon will be displayed when external ring set to off.
PHONEBOOK
Displayed when viewing the phonebook entries.
VOICE MESSAGE Displayed when a new voice message is received from the network.
RPT Repeat CID
Displayed when the same missed calls received more than once.
NEW NEW CID Displayed when missed call hasn’t been reviewed yet.
# Sequence When you press ▲or ▼key directly to scroll and review the numbers ,it
appears along with the digit to indicate the sequence of the call
HANDSFREE
The icon will be displayed when press key to off-hook state.
BATTERY
Displays charging indication and current battery status.
AM A.M. If time is morning 0 to 11:59:59’ o’clock, the “AM” icon will be displayed.
PM P.M.
If time is 12:00 to 23:59:59’ o’clock, the “PM” icon will be displayed.

In talk mode, press once to hang up the call;
In standby mode, hold for 3 seconds to switch handset power

Phonebook/BACK
This key is used to enter the phonebook both in standby mode and
in talk mode;
Exiting from a function during menu operation;
▲UP
Scrolling up through lists and menu options;
Increasing the volume;
Review incoming number,outgoing number and phonebook
number.
▼DOWN
Scrolling down through lists and menu options;
Decreasing the volume.
Review incoming number,outgoing number and phonebook
number.
R/CLR Flash/Delete
The key is used to delete memory
Delete the current input by a short pressing during menu edit.
When on an external call, press R/CLR to get a fresh dialling tone
or to access call waiting when you hear the signal. Press the key
again to toggle between your two callers.
RD/P Redial/Pause
The key will perform PAUSE function if pressed after any digit
input both in talk mode and in standby mode.
Redial the last dialed number, in off-hook state.
Star/Lock A Long press (3s) to activate/inactive keypad lock;
To set up a conference call.
Ring on/off
In addition to its use for text and number entry,
Press and hold to switch the handset external call ring on/off
MUTE Mute In talk mode press the key to perform mute function.
Page Page the handset,
Register the handset to a specified base.
INT INT
To set up an internal call to another handset;
To transfer an incoming call to another handset;
To set up a conference call with an external line and an internal
handset.

INSTALLATION
1. Plug the AC Adaptor output pin into the bottom of the base unit.
2. Plug the main adapter into mains socket with the switch on the socket set to off.
3. Switch on main power at the socket.
4. Take out the battery and open the battery compartment cover and insert batteries in the right polarity, then
close the battery compartment cover. The battery position as follow:
Warning: Use only approved rechargeable batteries supplied. Please do not use alkaline or non-rechargeable
batteries. It may cause permanent damage to the product and void the warranty.
MenuSettings
In standby mode, press the OK key to enter the menu setting. Press ▲or ▼key to select the above items and
then press OK key to enter, to go back to the previous menu by press key, to quit from setting menu by

Note: The system will time out if you leave more than 30 seconds between key presses.
Handset Menu function 1: PHONE BOOK
Each individual Handset has its own phonebook, independent of each other handset.
Press OK key. Use ▲or ▼key to select PHONE BOOK. Then Press OK key to confirm.
¾LIST
LCD displays LIST.This function allows the user to review the phone book record lists by using the ▲or ▼
key.
When the desired number is show, press or key to dial out the number automatically.
¾NEW ENTRY
Press ▲or ▼key to select NEW ENTRY item. This function allows the user to add an entry to the phone book.
1. Press OK key to enter. If a free phonebook entry is available, the cursor for the name flashes.
2. Enter the name using the numeric keys.

3. If you make a mistake, press R/CLR key to correct. Press OK key to confirm.
4. Enter the number and press OK key to confirm
5. Press ▲or ▼key to select the melody to be stored and press OK key to confirm.

¾EDIT RECORD
Press ▲or ▼key to select EDIT RECORD. This function allows the user to modify a phonebook record.
1. Press OK key to enter, the first record in the phone book will be displayed.
2. Press ▲or ▼key to select the designated record to change. Once a record has been selected, the
user will have the option to edit each of the name/number and change melody.
¾DEL RECORD
Press ▲or ▼key to select DEL RECORD. This function allows the user to delete a phonebook entry.
¾DELETE ALL
Press ▲or ▼key to select DELETE ALL. This function allows the user to delete all phonebook entries.
¾MEM STATUS
Press ▲or ▼key to select MEM STATUS. If it shows 10/50, it means 10 records been stored out of 50
memories available in the phonebook.
Handset Menu function 2: CALL LOG
Press OK key, use ▲or ▼key to choose CALL LOG, press OK key to enter.

1. Press OK key to enter missed call lists, received call lists or dialed call lists.
2. The LCD will show the last record. (If no entries are available in the list, the LCD will be shown EMPTY).
3. Press ▲or ▼key to view other record.
4. When the desired number is shown, press or key to dial out the number automatically.
When the record is shown, press OK key, use ▲or ▼key to choose. Then press OK key to confirm.
1. ADD TO PB :this function allows the user to add an entry from the caller list to the phone book.
2. DELETE :this function allows the user to delete the currently selected entry from caller list.
3. DELETE ALL : this function allows the user to delete all numbers.
Note: In idle state, press ▲key once to incoming records or press ▼key to review outgoing records.
Handset Menu function 3: BS SETTINGS
The user is able to change the base setting in base settings menu, press OK key and use ▲or ▼key to select
this item. Then you can do as below:
¾DELETE ONE HANDSET
This function allows the user to delete a handset registration from the base.
1. Press OK key, the display will show DELETE HS
2. Press OK key to enter, the user will be prompted to enter the PIN code.
3. Input the correct 4-digit pin code using digit key (default PIN code is 0000). Press OK key to confirm.
4. Press ▲or ▼key to scroll the handset names/number list up and down.
5. Press OK key to confirm. The handset will be deleted from the base, and the display will show
“UNREGISTERED”.
DELETE ALL HANDSETS
1. Press and hold key for 5s, IN USE/CHARGE LED will flash,
2. Press key 7 times slowly, the IN USE/CHARGE LED flashes quickly.
3. Then IN USE/CHARGE LED will OFF and all the handsets would be unregistered from the base.
¾DIAL MODE
The user can select to change the mode in which the base will dial.
1. Press OK key, then using ▲or ▼key to select DIAL MODE.
2. Press OK key to enter.
3. Press ▲or ▼key to select the TONE or PULSE dial mode.
4. Press OK key to confirm your selection.
Note: As required by your telephone lines or PABX systems you may need to change the dialing mode
between Tone and Pulse.
¾FLASH TIME
The user can select the flash time (100ms, 300ms, 600ms and 1000ms) to meet the telephone line or PABX
requirement.
1. Press OK key, then using ▲or ▼key to select FLASH TIME.
2. Press OK key to enter.
3. Press ▲or ▼key to select the desired flash time from 100ms, 300ms, 600ms and 1000 ms.
4. Press OK key to confirm your selection.
¾MODIFY PIN

Some functions (including handset delete and base default) require a PIN code. The default PIN is 0000, but
you are able to change to your personal 4-digit PIN.
1. Press OK key, then using ▲or ▼key to select MODIFY PIN.
2. Press OK key to confirm, and the display shows PIN?
3. Enter the existing PIN code for the base and handset by using numerical keys, then press OK to confirm.
4. If the old code is validated, the display shows NEW PIN, enter a new PIN code (4 digits), press OK to
confirm.
5. The display shows REPEAT, input the new PIN code again.
6. Press OK to confirm, the code will be stored with a confirmation tone.
¾BASE DEFAULT
This function allows the user to restore the base setting to the factory default.
1. Press OK key, then using ▲or ▼key to select BS DEFAULT.
2. Press OK key to confirm.
3. The user will be prompted to enter the PIN code, the display shows PIN?, then press numerical keys to
input code (default as 0000).
4. Press OK key to confirm. If the PIN code is validated all base settings will be returned to the factory
default.
Handset Menu function 4: HS SETTINGS
The user is able to change a number of the settings for the handset to their own individual preferences.
Press OK key and use ▲or ▼key to select HS SETTINGS. Then you can do as below.
¾ALARM
The user can set the alarm on the handset and adjust the alarm settings, to give an alert at a programmed time
of every day.
1. Press OK key, the first sub-menu is ALARM.
2. Press OK key to confirm.
3. Press ▲or ▼key to select ON or OFF, selection of OFF will turn the alarm off, and the user will be back
to the ALARM menu, selection of ON option will turn the alarm on , and the user will be requested to set
the alarm time.
4. After selecting ON, press OK key to start the settings of alarm, “12-00” displayed with “12” is blinking.
5. Press ▲or ▼key to change the hours, press OK key to confirm, use the same method to select minutes,
AM/PM.
6. After select the alarm time, press OK key, the user will be presented with a further option to select to ON
or OFF to enable or disable the snooze function on the alarm by using ▲or ▼key.
7. Press OK key to confirm your selection.
8. When the alarm is set, the will appear on the top of the display.
Notes:
1. In idle state, the alarm will ring at very sharp time you have set.
2. When alarm rings, you can switch it off by pressing any key of the handset.
When a call comes during the alarm it will be terminated.
3. Re-enter the alarm setting menu option and select OFF.

4. If the SNOOZE is set ON, the alarm will be repeated about every 5 minutes for about nine times, with the
alarm icon continuing to flash. During the alarm, press any key except key to stop the alarm, and will
begin to ring after 5 minutes.
5. If the SNOOZE is set OFF, the alarm will sound once for 45 seconds.
¾RING SETUP
The user is able to change the handset ringing on Internal calls and External calls. There are 10 ringer
melodies and 5 different volume levels can be set.
1. Press OK key, then using ▲or ▼key to select RING SETUP.
2. Press OK key to enter.
3. Press ▲or ▼key to select the INT RING and EXT RING setup.
4. Press OK key to confirm.
5. Press ▲or ▼key to select the MELODY and VOLUME setup.
If select MELODY,
a) Press OK key to confirm.
b) Press ▲or ▼key to select desired melody, the corresponding melody sound can be heard with the
selection.
c) Press OK key to confirm your selection.
If select VOLUME,
a) Press OK key to confirm.
b) Press ▲or ▼key to select desired ringer volume 1- 5, if you want to switch off select OFF
c) Press OK key to confirm your selection.
Notes:
1. If you select ring OFF for INT RING, there will be no icon display on LCD, and when transfer call to this unit,
it will not ring.
2. If you select ring OFF for EXT RING, there will be a ringing off icon display on LCD and when there is
an incoming call, the unit will not ring.
Shortcut key: press and hold key to switch the handset external call ring on/off.
¾TONE SETUP
The user is able to change the handset tone settings.
1. Press OK key, then using ▲or ▼key to select TONE SETUP.
2. Press OK key to enter.
3. Press ▲or ▼key to select the KEY TONE and BATTERY LOW, RANGE ALARM setup.
4. Press OK key to confirm.
5. Press ▲or ▼key to select the ON or OFF to enable/disable the sounding of the beep respectively.
6. Press OK key to confirm your selection.
Notes:
1. If you turn the tone on for key tone, a beep for key tone will sound when a key is pressed on the handset.
2. If you turn the tone on for battery low warning, a beep will sound for battery low.
3. If you turn the tone on for the out of range warning, a beep will sound when the handset goes out of range

of the base unit.
¾LANGUAGE
The handset will support up to 16 pre-defined languages.
1. Press OK key, then using ▲or ▼key to select LANGUAGE.
2. Press OK key to enter.
3. Press ▲or ▼key to select the language from ENGLISH (English), DEUTSCH (German), FRANÇAIS
(French), ITALIANO (Italian), ESPAÑOL (Spanish), PORTUGUES (Portuguese), PYCCKNÑ (Russian),
TÜRKÇE (Turkey), EΛΛHNIKA (Greek), YKPAIHCЬKNÑ (Ukrainian), POLSKI (Polish), MAGYAR
(Hungarian), SVENSKA (Swedish), NEDERLANDS (Dutch), DANSK (Danish) and NORSK (Danish).
Each language will display in its own native translation.
4. Press OK key to confirm your selection.
¾HANDSET NAME
The operation will allow the user to change the handset name
1. Press OK key. Using ▲or ▼key to select HS NAME,
2. Press OK key, when the function is selected, the screen will display the current handset name.
3. Enter the handset name.
4. If you make a mistake, press R/CLR key to correct.
5. Press OK key to confirm.
¾AUTO ANSWER
The Handset can be set to answer an incoming call automatically by simply pick it up from the charging cradle.
The user is able to select to enable/disable this auto answer feature.
1. Press OK key. Using ▲or ▼key to select AUTO ANSWER,
2. Press OK key to enter.
3. Press ▲or ▼key to select On or OFF
4. Press OK key to confirm your selection. Exit from this sub-menu and return the user to the AUTO
ANSWER.
¾BARRING
You can set 4 numbers (up to 4 digits each) for call barring.
When the call barring is “ON”, any numbers beginning with the programmed digits will not be able to be dialed
out, and LCD will display CALLS BARRED
1. Press OK key. Using ▲or ▼key to select BARRING,
2. Press OK key the user will be prompted to enter the PIN code, input 4-digit code (defaulted as 0000).
3. Press OK key to enter, then using ▲or ▼key to select ON or OFF, press OK to confirm.
4. If select ON, the display shows NUMBER 1, press ▲or ▼to choose NUMBER i(i=1~4).
5. Then press MENU/OK key to confirm, using the numerical key to input number (maximum 4 digits) which
you want to bar. (For example: if you set barring number is 1234, then the numbers begin with 1234 will be
not allowed to be dialed out, and LCD display CALLS BARRED.)

¾DATE & TIME
The user is able to set the date and time on the handset, by selecting the following option.
1. Press OK key. Using ▲or ▼key to select DATE&TIME,
2. Press OK key and the last two digits of the year flashes.
3. Edit the year, month, date and time by pressing ▲or ▼key.
4. Press OK key to confirm the setting, and return to the DATE & TIME menu.
Notes:
1. When the unit is powered on initially, the date and time will be blinking, please to set the date and time first.
2. Date and time will be automatically set when the caller ID message is received in FSK mode.
3. Year must be set manually.
¾SELECT BASE
The handset can be registered to more than one base (up to a maximum of 4), and you can select which base
you want the handset to operate with.
1. Press OK key, then using ▲or ▼key to choose SELECT BASE.
2. Press OK key and the LCD displays BASE 1 +.
(If Base unit is already linked with a Handset it will be shown with “+”).
3. Press ▲or ▼to select base (BASE 1~4) or AUTO.
4. Press OK to begin searching, if you hear a sound of “di-du-di”, means linked successful.
Note: If you select “AUTO”, the handset will link with the first of the registered bases that it finds.
¾HANDSET DEFAULT
This function allows the user to restore the handset setting to the factory default.
1. Press OK key, then using ▲or ▼key select HS DEFAULT.
2. Press OK key to confirm.
3. The display shows PIN?, then key in the PIN code (default 0000).
4. Press OK key to confirm. If the PIN code is validated all handset settings will be returned to the factory
default.
Handset Menu function 5: REGISTRATION
Maximum 5 handsets can be linked to the same base and Maximum 4 bases can be linked to the same
handset by following the procedure below.
1. In standby mode, press OK key, then using ▲or ▼key select REGISTRATION.
2. Press OK key to enter. Press ▲or ▼key to select BASE from BASE1, BASE2, BASE3 or BASE 4.
3. Press OK key to confirm, LCD displays PIN? Then enter the pin code (defaulted as 0000, if input wrong
number, press R/CLR to delete).
4. When finished press OK key to confirm. LCD display SEARCHING, then press and hold key in the
BASE UNIT until you has get DI-DU- DU- sound. The handset and base have been registered
successfully.
Notes:
1. If the handset fails to register with the base, it will return to standby mode.
2. You can repeat the above steps to register another handset for the same base, and the successfully

registered handset will displays HS2 or HS3 on the LCD according to the registration sequence.
3. Press key on base unit to locate the handsets.
OPERATION
Speakerphone operation & volume control
Press key once to obtain a dial tone, dial your number, when you hear the other party start your
conversation. You can also answer an incoming call by pressing the key once.
During the speakerphone operation, the user can adjust the speaker volume level by pressing the ▲or ▼
key .Total 6 levels for selection.
If you press key to use earpiece, you can press the ▲or ▼key to adjust the earpiece volume, total 5
levels for selection.
Mute the MIC
During a call, press MUTE key once to mute the MIC and MUTE will show on LCD. Press MUTE key again to
get back to the call and the MUTE will disappear.
Caller ID – type I & II
¾TYPE I
After you have applied the caller ID service, you can see the caller party phone number during an incoming
ring.
¾TYPE II
During the conversation, the phone number of the incoming call of the second caller can be seen in the unit.
Note: Above caller ID services must be subscribed /supported by your telephone service provider.
Flash function
When a number is dialled and the line is busy, press R/CLR key and then press RD/P key to dial it out again or
enter a new number.
When on an external call, press R/CLR to access call waiting (2nd Call) when you hear the signal.
Press the key again to toggle between your two callers.
Note: Above call waiting services must be subscribed /supported by your telephone service provider.
Pause
Press RD/P key will insert a time delay of 3.6 seconds in a dialing sequence.
Pre-dialing
The unit has pre-dialing function, you may enter and edit the number before dialing out.
The following procedure describes how to use this function:
1. In idle mode, enter the number you want to dial. For wrong entries you can press R/CLR key to correct the
number.
2. Press or key once, the unit will dial out the number show on the LCD.
Redial function

1. Press key or key,
2. Press RD/P key, the last dialed number will be dialed again.
Intercom
The intercom feature is activated by pressing the INT key.
1. In idle mode, press INT key once.
2. The user will be prompted to select the number of the internal handset with which you wish to connect.
3. The destination handset will ring. Press or key to enter conversation mode. To end intercom
mode, either handset can hang up the call by pressing key.
Note: The destination handset will stop ringing if it is not answered within 30 seconds.
Call transfer
During a call it can be transferred to another handset by below procedure.
1. During a external call, press INT key once, you will be prompted to select the number of the internal
handset with which they wish to connect.
2. The destination handset will ring with the melody defined for an internal call.
3. Press the or key of the other handset to accept the call.
4. The two internal handsets will be connected. To complete the transfer of the call, the initiating handset
should be hanging up and the external call will now be connected to the second handset.
5. Or if the other handset does not answer, you can get back to the external call by pressing INT key again or
you will automatically be reconnected to the outside call after 30 seconds.
3 Party conference call
1. When a call comes, on HS1 press or key
2. Then on HS1 press INT key once, you will be prompted to select the number of the internal handset with
which you wish to connect, e.g. HS2
3. The destination handset (HS2) will ring.
4. On HS2 Press or key to accept call.
5. On HS1 Press the key then the external caller and the 2 handsets can talk together.
Lock/Unlock the Keypad
To lock the keypad
Press and hold the key for about 2 seconds.
You will hear a beep tone, the icon will appear on the top of display, “HS LOCKED” will appear on LCD.
Note: While the keypad is locked, all the keys will not function except key to answer an incoming call and key to
unlock.
To unlock the keypad
Press and hold the key for about 2 seconds.
You will hear a beep tone, the icon will disappear from the display and it will go back to idle mode.

Trouble shooting
Problems Actions
No Dial Tone
Check if the base unit is connected to the
Telephone line and ensure the line is functional.
Please check if your phone is set to TONE dialing
Set PULSE mode only for older type of phone
