RUN IN PERIOD
Before leaving the factory this speaker has been tested and
measured using state of the art electrical and acoustic analysis
software as well as critical listening from highly trained ears.
This only accounts to a runtime of 4 hours, you can expect the
speaker to run in over the first 200 hours as the rubber surround
and the voice coil spider fibers soften, this is a process that
cannot be hastened by playing the speaker at extreme levels.
We recommend that you enjoy this time by playing your favorite
albums going through different genres of music and revisit
previously played songs after a while and see what new details
you can notice that you haven’t heard before.

INGRESS PROTECTION (IP RATING)
The Cyclops is rated IP66, which offers complete dust protection
and limited water resistance including salt water. It is always
recommend to install the cyclops in a position that allows water
to drain out of the grill. Face the electrical cables pointing down.
Also choose a mounting location that provides as much protection
from UV and direct weather for the best performance and lifespan.

AMPLIFIER SETUP
The Cyclops subwoofer covers the 25-300hz range and can be
powered from a wide variety of amplifiers that have adjustable
crossover settings.
Recommend crossover settings for maximum volume usage
-Highpass 35hz
-Lowpass 120hz

WIRING

INSTALLATION
The Cyclops is supplied with a short length of cable designed to be
soldered onto for long lasting performance in harsh outdoor environ-
ments. It is recommended to properly cover the soldered joint with
glued heatshrink to keep moisture out of the joint.
We recommend speaker cable thickness of 12-16g speaker cable be
used. On long cable runs up to 80 meters we recommend 12g cable
be used to avoid voltage drop. In humid or salt air environments
tinned copper properly sealed with heat shrink over any joins will
resist corrosion and provide better signal integrity for many years
longer than standard copper.
PARALLEL WIRING
The Cyclops subwoofer is an 8ohm amplifier load and as such 2 units
can be wired in parallel and connected to a 4 ohm compatible
amplifier and be driven off a single amplifier channel. It is
recommended that speaker cable lengths be as equal as possible
when running them in parallel. Both subwoofers must be the
Alderwood Cyclops, no other subwoofer can be wired from the same
amplifier channel.
The Cyclops subwoofer has 16 mounting points that can be utilised
when installing the subwoofer. A minimum of 4 points should be
used at all times.
NOTE
All 16 threaded mounting points must have a fastener securely in
place to maintain cabinet pressure. Running this subwoofer with
missing bolts or air leaks will result in damage to the driver and
potentially allow water ingress voiding your warranty.

TROUBLE SHOOTING
Sound is crackly
or
distorted at low
volume
- Check solder joint for a potential short.
- Ensure amplifier terminals are
done up tightly.
- Check the wiring going into
amplifier for shorts.
- Check the crossover settings on your
amplifier are correctly set
-Check amplifier power is capable of
250-500w at 8 ohm to adequately
power the Cyclops with enough headroom
-Check amplifier gain setting is not
set too high, if required have the head
unit signal set at no more than 3/4 of
max volume for a clean peak free signal
No sound
- Check all connections
right input.
- Check power
Speaker sounds
distorted at high
volume
ATTACHING THE FEET
The 4 feet provided with the cyclops can be attached to the front
or the rear of the subwoofer depending on how you are using it.
To attach the feet undo the 4 M5 countersunk screws and bolt
the feet in place using the removed bolts, be sure to make sure
the feet are firmly in place to prevent any air or water leaks if
outside.
