2.1 About the manual
These guides offer important warnings about safety and your responsibility as the vessel’s
owner. All the information provided in this publi ation is based on the latest information
available at the time of printing. Due to our poli y of ontinuous produ t improvement, we
reserve the right to apply hanges at any time and without prior noti e in the spe ifi ation
of the models as well as in ase of an ellation of any models. Furthermore, we reserve
the right to hange the spe ifi ations, the omponents or additional equipment whenever
and without any obligations to models produ ed prior the date of su h hanges. Alfastreet
Marine re ommends a periodi al visit of our website www.alfastreet-marine.si, where you
an find additional and new information as well as the FAQ se tion.
What this manual does not gives you is a ourse in boating safety, or how to navigate,
an hor, or do k your boat. Operating a power boat safely requires more skills, knowledge,
and awareness than is ne essary for a ar or tru k. For safe navigation the ourse in
boating safety and boat manoeuvring is obligatory! Please onta t your state authorities
for more informations.
2.1.1 Wa ning signs and symbols
The manual also provides warning signs. These have different meanings and levels of
importan e, it is therefore ne essary to arefully read the ontent of the three warning
signs below.
2.2 Othe manufactu e 's use guides
The vessel 23OPEN features equipment and various omponents from different
manufa turers. The equipment and the omponents are only mentioned in this manual as
all the manuals, user guides, warranty statements and detailed information on the
equipment and the omponents are olle ted in a spe ial folder (Additional equipment). If
you miss any do ument that you think should a ompany the vessel, please onta t your
vendor or all Alfrastreet d.o.o. on the phone number +386 5 70 72 100.
2.3 You esponsibilities
As the owner of the vessel and a parti ipant in the traffi on water, you are responsible for
the navigation safety, the traffi safety and the safety of the passengers on board. You

should espe ially take into a ount how to:
•in rease of the safety at navigation
•learn how to navigate
•redu e your risk of ollision and injuries at sea,
•obtain all registration do uments. ( onta t state authorities for spe ifi ations)
•expand your navigation area,
2.3.1 Navigation ability
Reading, understanding and using this user guide is just as important as learning to
adequately ontrol the vessel. This publi ation IS NOT a ourse on safe navigation and is
also NOT a manual on how to operate, how to an hor and how to tie the vessel. A safe
ontrol of the vessel requires more skills, knowledge and awareness than is required for
driving a ar or lorry.
As the driver, owner and user of the vessel you are responsible for it, therefore it is
ne essary to inform yourself on safety and omplete a ourse on safe navigation.
Furthermore, inform yourself on the orre t handling of the vessel in ase of emergen y.
As the vessel traffi in losed seas is denser, you should also learn the rules of operating,
avoiding and manoeuvring the vessel.
2.3.2 Regist ation of the vessel
Every vessel needs to be in luded in the register before its first departure. This is arried
out in the offi e authorised for the registration of vessels (usualy Ministry of Maritime
Affairs). Informations, about registration of the vessel, an also be given by lo al
Alfastreet's representative. It is imperative that the registration is done before the first
departure. Apart from the registration in the ountry in whi h the vessel is most ommonly
used, it is also ne essary, in the event of navigating into the seas of another ountry, to
inform yourself on a possible additional registration of the vessel, as it is required by some
ountries. The easiest option to do this is at the offi e whi h issues the navigation permit.
2.3.3 Vessel catego ies
The vessels are divided into four ategories, a ording to their navigation apa ity in
various weather onditions:
A. O ean navigation area
Highest wind speed: over 40 knots (over 20.6 m/s)
Wave height: over 4m
The vessel an navigate in the o ean.
B. Offshore navigation area
Highest wind speed: up to 40 knots (up to 20.6 m/s)
Wave height: up to 4m
The vessel an navigate in the high seas.
C. Inshore navigation area
Highest wind speed: up to 27 knots (up to 13.9 m/s)
Wave height: up to 2m
www.alfastreet-marine. om 8

23CRUISE_OPEN 23ELECTRIC_OPEN – General manual
The vessel an navigate in the oastal area, larger gulfs, lakes and rivers.
D. Sheltered oastal area
Highest wind speed: up to 15 knots (up to 7.7 m/s)
Wave height: up to 0.5m
The vessel an navigate in smaller lakes, rivers and anals.
Your vessel 23OPEN satisfies the requirements of the ategory C.
The information means that you would be able to safely navigate with your vessel in su h
weather onditions. But it is still very important that you inform yourself on the weather
onditions before departure, in order to avoid storms or other weather in onvenien es. It
is also ne essary to be aware of any hange of weather during the navigation, as bad
weather, high waves et . an at h you very qui kly, whi h an seriously threaten your
safety as well as the safety of your passengers.
2.3.4 Weathe conditions:
Before and during the navigation you should pay spe ial attention to the following:
•inform yourself on the weather fore ast and weather onditions at sea before your
departure from the marina,
•a sudden hange in the wind speed or dire tion as well as in the wave height an
signal a fast deterioration of the weather,
•if you noti e a storm approa hing, navigate immediately to the nearest marina or
quay,
•if you are surprised by a storm during the navigation, make sure all passengers are
seated and dire t the prow towards the wind maintaining enough speed to slowly
move forward,
•he k if all passengers on board have an adequate life ja ket,
•if you navigate into a dense fog, determine your position, lower your speed and
warn other vessels of your presen e,
•when a thunderstorm is approa hing, it is very important to tie the vessel along the
oast as qui kly as possible and disembark. Do not stay in the water during the
lightning, as that would in rease your possibility of being stru k.
Safety in water traffi
The water surfa e does not feature any road lanes, indi ators or similar help found in road
traffi . Therefore the vessel’s driver must be even more aware of all sides of the vessel
and not just the dire tion of navigation.
Failure to onsider safety rules and negligen e an qui kly lead to serious injuries of the
people on board or even death, as the onsequen e of a idents.

2.3.5 Gene al navigation safety ules
Always be aware of your surrounding during the navigation and follow these rules:
•Always ondu t the vessel with an adequate speed, whi h ensures a safe navigation
for all passengers on board,
•Always pay attention to the traffi in the dire tion of navigation ad well as around
the vessel, espe ially before you hange the dire tion of navigation.
•Redu e the speed of the vessel, pay attention to its surrounding, not only the
dire tion of navigation, and turn on the vessel’s navigation lights when:
- the visibility is redu ed,
- in turbulent water (waves),
- in dense traffi .
•Always departure after getting enough sleep or after enough rest. In ase you fall
asleep when ontrolling the vessel, you an ause it to sink or rash into another
vessel or parti ipant in the traffi on water. You are also fully responsible for the
damage aused by falling asleep during the navigation.
•The vessel features a red and green navigation lights in the orners, and an an hor
light on the ba k of the roof. The navigation and an hor lights must be swit hed on
whenever the vessel is moving, the weather deteriorates or during the navigation at
night.
•When an horing on a spot whi h ould be on the navigational route of another
vessel, swit h on the an hor light lo ated on the vessel’s roof, whi h is visible 360o
around the vessel.
The driver of the vessel must always pay attention to the vessels approa hing from all
sides. He must also pay attention to the bathers, partly sunk wre ks and other obje ts in
water whi h are dangerous to the navigation (trunks, reefs, shallows, strong urrents,
et ). The passengers on your vessel rely on you to take are of their safety and the safety
of the navigation by maintaining an adequate speed and by respe ting the navigation
safety rules. You should also make sure that you do not expose your passengers to danger
with qui k manoeuvres, su h as turning, sudden in reasing or redu ing of the speed.
During weather hanges or redu ing daylight that result in low visibility, you must adjust
the speed of the vessel to the momentary navigational onditions. By doing so, you gain
enough time and spa e to avoid danger.
2.3.6 Planing the navigational oute
In order to avoid navigating in dangerous waters with potentially dangerous reefs, sunken
obje ts, shallows, dangerous urrents and similar perils, it is ne essary to prepare, prior to
your departure, a detailed navigational oute whi h you plan to follow.
During the planing of the route you should use adequate navigational tools whi h you
know how to use and understand their importan e. You should also take into a ount the
guidelines of experien ed guides and sailors and onsider the most appropriate time of
navigation for your navigational route area (tide). In ase of navigating in unknown
waters, without knowing the possible dangers, navigate with low speed and arefully
observe the surrounding area as well as the dire tion of navigation, in order to avoid any

23CRUISE_OPEN 23ELECTRIC_OPEN – General manual
potentially dangerous situations.
Make sure that others know where you are.
Therefore, before departure inform your family members and friends about the following:
•the planned dire tion of your navigation,
•the envisaged date and time of return,
•the des ription of the vessel,
•the number and age of passengers on board
In ase of emergen y these information an be transferred to the oastal station or the
res ue boat rew whi h will be sent to help you, thus, onsiderably in reasing the
possibilities of your res ue and limiting the possibilities of serious injuries of the
passengers. It is also important to inform them about your arrival to the destination, as
failure to do so ould result in a false alarm!
2.4 Supplie 's esponsibilities
The supplier guarantees the vessel with the determined equipment, servi e and
examination of the boat before the supply and at any time after the supply as well as the
possibility of omplaint in ase of proven defe ts on the vessel. Furthermore, he offers an
illustration and presentation of the safety requirements, signs, pro edures and instruments
as well as an explanation and, if ne essary, an illustration of the basi pro edures for
ontrolling the vessel. The supplier also examines with the lient all the information about
the warranty, explains what to do in ase of breakdowns and how to obtain a warranty
servi e. Moreover, he provides the omplete user guides.
If you do not re eive all the equipment or if you have problems with the vessel and you
wish file a warranty laim, all your supplier or the supplier of the defe tive omponent.

des ribed in this manual or that were des ribed in a different form.
Therefore, all the above mentioned persons involved in the proje t of building your vessel
appeal to you, to take into a ount when using your vessel not only the guides from this
manual but also the very important PRINCIPLE OF COMMON SENSE! Navigation an be a
fantasti and unique experien e whi h an also lead to tragedies if the safety rules are not
respe ted. Always bear in mind to departure after enough sleep and rest and with
responsibility towards yourself and the people around you.
This prin iple should be respe ted always and everywhere, but we would like to ask the
users, to fully respe t the said prin iple espe ially when using this vessel.
Always onsider the safety of all the enthusiasts of water-related a tivities.
4 SAFETY
Your safety and the safety of your passengers depend on the way you operate with and
maintain the vessel. Reading and understanding the entire manual is therefore ne essary
for anyone who shall operate the vessel, in order to a hieve a safe navigation. It is also
ne essary to take into a ount all the additional guidelines provided by the manufa turer
or the supplier. On top of that, you need to make sure that you understand the importan e
and fun tion of all instruments and buttons featured on the dashboard of the vessel prior
to your departure.
An in orre t use of the vessel is dangerous. The present hapter offers a des ription of the
most important safety rules, whi h must be observed before, during and after the
navigation.
4.1 Gene al safety measu es
Make sure that all passengers on board of the vessel are aware of and apply the basi
safety measures and rules of this manual. The safety of the navigation begins by knowing
the dangers whi h an o ur during the navigation and by respe ting all the safety rules

4.2 Ca bon monoxide (pet ol, diesel o hyb id engine)
When vessel's motor is running it produ es arbon monoxide (as exhaust gas). Carbon
monoxide (CO) is a deadly gas whi h you an not smell or taste. CO a ts a lot like air. It
doesn’t rise or fall but spreads evenly throughout an en losed spa e. CO omes in through
your lungs and uts off the oxygen supply to your body, ausing death in minutes. Be
alert! Symptoms in lude heada hes, nausea and fatigue — but you might think you are
just seasi k or have the flu. A tail wind an easily arry CO ba k on board.
Dangerous on entration of arbon monoxide an be present when:
•air presure is low
•a nerby vessel's engine is running
•insuffi ent air flow is presend (in losed roof)
•strong tail wind
Pre autions to avoid dangerous on entrations of arbon monoxide (CO):
•open the roof door and lift the roof roof before a esing to the de k
•when motor is running, passengers are not allowed to be seatd on swimming
platform
•when motor is running, swimmers are not allowed to swim near the engine
•do not go under the boat engine over with the engine running or shortly after the
engine has been running.
4.3 Safe navigation
Many boat a idents are often aused by la k of knowledge, failure to respe t the safety
rules and measures by the drivers of the vessels and their passengers. A orre t handling
of the vessel, a prompt identifi ation of potential dangers and the appli ation of the safety
measures an help to avoid and prevent many dangerous situations.
www.alfastreet-marine. om 15
WARNING
Failure to onsider the guidelines related to safety of the
navigation an lead to a idents with serious or even tragi
onsequen es. Always use the vessel ons iously, arefully and
with full responibility towards yourself and the passengres on
board, when the vessel is in motion or not.
!
!DANGER
Carbon monoxide is high
dangerous gas, and an ause

the ountry in whi h we are navigating.
•When ondu ting the vessel, always atta h the lip onne ted to the safety system
for swit hing off the motor to yourself (the best option is to put it on the belt line of
your pants). In the event of you falling into the water, this system will make sure
that the motor is automati ally swit hed off, thus preventing the un ontrolled
navigation of the vessel.
•Never ondu t the vessel under the influen e of al ohol or other psy hoa tive
substan es (illegal drugs, sedatives, stimulants, strong drugs, et .).
•During the navigation, you and your passengers should be seated on the sitting
surfa es.
•During the navigation, it is forbidden to stand or sit on inappropriate pla es (the
edge of the vessel, the motor lid, the roof). Failure to respe t this guideline an
lead to someone falling into the water or even drowning.
•Before swit hing on the vessel’s motor, you must trim the motor drive up and make
sure that the working spa e of the propeller is free of any foreign obje ts, whi h
ould hamper the fun tioning of the motor and present a danger during the
navigation (bran hes, ropes, fishing nets…). You also need to he k that the
propeller isn’t damaged in any way.
•Any use of open fire or sparkling obje ts that ould start a fire on board of the
vessel is forbidden.
4.4 Obligato y equipment
This hapter features a presentation of the equipment whi h is required by law and is
obligatory on board of the vessel, as well as the re ommended equipment. it is very
important to regularly he k the equipment on board and he k the te hni al suitability of
singular omponents.
A ording to the lo al authority, the obligatory equipment for the navigation in the off
shore and sheltered oastal area for vessels without abins over 5m and vessels with abin
of up to 7m in length is:
•an an hor with a rope or hain for an horing of at least 30m in length,
•three ropes for tying with the olle tive length of at least 40m and suitable
strength,
•an auxiliary propulsion (motor or sails) or VHF radio station or three red para hute
ro kets,
•bailer of hand pump,
•lights and day signals a ording to the regulations on avoiding ollisions at sea,
•a on ave mirror (for speedboats used for water skiing),
•three red tor hes,
•a ompass,

•life ja kets of the same number as the persons on board the boat.
Obligatory equipment in text above is obligatory for vessels whi h navigate in waters of
Republi of Slovenia. For more informations about rules and obligatory equipment in your
ountry, please onsult your lo al authorities (Port authority, Ministry of Maritime Affairs).
4.4.1 Life jackets
If the boat is equipped with life ja kets, their number and size must orrespond to the
number and sizes of the persons on board. Only life ja kets with an adequate ertifi ate
an be used.
4.4.2 Automatic and po table fi e extinguishe
The vessel an be (or, if required by law or lo al jurisdi tion, it must be) equipped with an
automati or portable dry powder fire extinguisher, whi h needs to be periodi ally he ked
by an authorized person or organization. Vessel 23OPEN is optionally equipped with two
automati extinguishers mounted near the engine.
4.4.3 Whistle, ho n
On board the vessel you must keep a sound tool, such as a whistle or horn, in order to
warn others of your presence when the visibility is reduced. Horn can be mounted on top
of the roof.
4.4.4 Visual wa ning tools
If you are navigating at sea, you must keep three warning tools on board, whi h an be
used during the day or at night (three red tor hes or signal ro kets). The signal tools must
feature a suitable ertifi ate, they must not be expired and they must be kept in a dry and
dark spa e.
4.5 Recommended equipment
Along with the obligatory equipment required by law, it is re ommended to keep on board
the vessel the following obje ts:
•a first aid kit,
•maps of the planned navigational route,
•a ompass,
•a GPS,
•a marine VHF radio,
•an emergen y position indi ating radio bea on (EPIRB),
•a hand pump,
•a mosquito repellent,
•several ropes,
•waterproof battery lights,

23CRUISE_OPEN 23ELECTRIC_OPEN – General manual
•repla ement batteries for lights,
•repla ing keys for the vessel’s motor,
•the manual for the vessel’s motor,
•motor oil,
•a toolbox with:
•ombined pliers,
•a sele tion of open end spanners,
•an ele tri al tape (insulating tape),
•a hammer,
•several repla ement omponents (fuses, light bulbs, s rews, et .),
•a repla ement propeller.
4.6 Rescue equipment
Even very good swimmers an be ome qui kly tired and drown due to exhaustion,
hypothermia or both. Thanks to the res ue equipment, the person who fell into the water
an keep himself above the surfa e of the water with onsiderably less effort and
unne essary use of body temperature. This raises the han es of survival signifi antly. The
driver of the vessel must make sure that there is one life ja ket for ea h person on board.
Before ea h navigation, he must also indi ate to the passengers on board where the life
ja kets are and how to use them properly. The life ja kets must be on easy rea h. The
best option would be if the life ja kets would be worn by the passengers during the
navigation. Before pur hasing the life ja kets, make sure that they feature all the
ertifi ates of suitability. It is also ne essary to he k at least on e a year their floatation
and look for any damages.
4.7 Eme gency situations
In order to avoid navigating into dangerous areas, sunken wre kages, shallows, dangerous
urrents and similar, it is ne essary to plan a navigational oute, by using adequate
nauti al maps and navigational tools properly and by taking into a ount the guidelines of
experien ed drivers and sailors as well as the weather hanges and the tide. If you
navigate in unknown waters, redu e the speed of the navigation and pay attention to the
surroundings in order to avoid ollision with another vessel or ay dangers in the water.

23CRUISE_OPEN 23ELECTRIC_OPEN – General manual
Impo tant safety guidelines:
Before departure, inform your family and friends of the following:
•the planed dire tion of your navigation,
•the envisaged date and time of your return,
•the des ription of your vessel,
•the number of passengers on board.
In ase of emergen y, su h information an be provided to the oastal station, for
example, the harbour offi e, whi h would in rease the han es of a prompt res ue.
A. Fi st aid kit:
You must keep a omplete first aid kit on board. During the navigation you will be situated
a long distan e from an ambulan e station, therefore there should be at least two trained
res ue workers on board, who have ompleted the first aid ourse.
B. Wate escue:
If a person falls into the water with below 20oC, there is a great han e that the person
will drown due to hypothermia. Therefore it is very important to pull the person onto the
vessel as soon as possible.
This an be done in the following ways:
•by returning to the person in the water,
•by alling the person in the water,
•by pulling the person out of the water and on board the vessel.
Retu ning to the pe son in the wate
•inform everyone on board about the a ident,
•arefully observe the person in the water,
•arefully navigate towards the person in the water,
•if the res ue takes pla e at night, make sure to dire t as mu h light as possible
towards the person in the water to maximise the person’s visibility,
•throw a res ue ring to the person in the water, even if this person is already
wearing a life ja ket.
Calling the pe son in the wate
•redu e the speed and navigate around the person in the water,
•approa h the person in the water so that the person is on the windward side of the
vessel,
•when you are lose to the person in the water, swit h off the motor to avoid any
injuries of the person with the propeller.
Pulling the pe son in the wate on boa d
•try to pull the person in the water towards the vessel with a paddle or rope,
•do not swim towards the person in the water, unless ne essary,
•help the person in the water to get on board (the easiest way is a ross the stern),
www.alfastreet-marine. om 19

23CRUISE_OPEN 23ELECTRIC_OPEN – General manual
•if the person in the water is injured or annot rea h the de k by himself, someone
on board must put on a life ja ket whi h is atta hed to the vessel with a safety rope
and the said person pi ks up the injured person in the water,
•while the pulling the person on board, be extremely areful as the said person
might have suffered injuries to the spine or other parts of the body.
C. Fi e
Fire is a very serious a ident whi h an o ur on board, as the vessel an burn down
qui kly. If you do not manage to put out the fire in a few minutes, fo us on your res uing
instead of on extinguishing the fire. Abandon the vessel. Keep the portable fire
extinguishers at hand as the starting small fires an be put out qui kly and easily. It is also
important that the portable fire extinguishers on board are of a suitable type.
•Extinguish all smoking obje ts,
•swit h off the motor, the fans, the ovens,
•if possible, throw the burning obje ts out of the vessel,
•if possible, dire t the squirt of the extinguishing agent into the sour e of the fire
and not the top of the flame,
•if the vessel features an automati fire extinguishing system for its motor, wait for
15 minutes after the system’s a tivation before you lift the over of the motor. Keep
the portable fire extinguisher at hand.
•Call for help,
•a tivate the digital all for help (GMDSS), if you have the ne essary equipment on
board,
•put on a lifebuoy and prepare to abandon the vessel.
D. Sinking, capsizing of the vessel
In ase of sinking or apsizing of the vessel:
•try to swit h off the motor and the ele tri al equipment before leaving the vessel,
•he k if everyone on board is wearing properly fastened life ja kets,
•he k if all passengers managed to save themselves from the sinking vessel,
•if the vessel is sinking, stay near the vessel, try to board it and a tivate the help
signal (signal ro kets),
•in extreme ases, try to swim towards the shore. Do not forget that the shore is
further than it seems and there is the possibility of drowning due to exhaustion
during swimming.
E. Collision and flooding
In the event of ollision with another vessel or obje t in the water or in the event of
flooding:
•lower the speed of navigation to redu e the amount of water breaking into the
vessel,
•swit h on the water pump,
•use also the manual water pump,
•he k if all passengers are on board and if anyone is injured,
•all passengers must put on the life ja kets,
