Thank you for purchasing the alfda® humidifier ALB300.
Please read these operation instructions carefully before using your humidifier for
the first time. This manual contains important information and notes for the optimal
function and handling of the unit. Please keep these instructions in a safe place after
reading them if you have any questions at a later moment.

The device is not intended for use by children or persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental abilities. Lack of experience and knowledge may pose a potential
danger during use. Therefore, such persons should use the air purifier only under
the explicit instruction and supervision of another person responsible for safety.
This person should also ensure that children do not play with the unit. Cleaning and
maintenance work must never be carried out by children without supervision.
The humidifier may only be operated with the power supply unit included in the
scope of delivery. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, customer service or a similarly qualified person to avoid danger.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:
Please read these operating instructions carefully before using the humidifier for
the first time. The device is not intended for commercial use.
1.
Before commissioning, please ensure that the voltage specifications
correspond to the local mains voltage.
2.
The device is not intended for use by children or persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental abilities. Lack of experience and knowledge may
pose a potential danger during use. Therefore, such persons should use the air
purifier only under the explicit instruction and supervision of another person
responsible for safety. This person should also ensure that children do not play
with the unit. Cleaning and maintenance work must never be carried out by
children without supervision.
3.
Do not fill in hot water. Use only cold water (tap water or distilled water).
4.
Do not drink the water used in the water basin and do not use it for animals or
plants. Drain the water tank into an outflow.
5.
The power plug must be connected so that there is no danger if the humidifier
tips over or liquid is spilled.
6.
Do not spray flammable materials, such as pesticides or fragrances, near the
humidifier.
7.
Make sure that the air inlets and outlets are not covered.
8.
If the socket used to operate the humidifier is not properly connected, the
appliance's plug will become hot. Make sure you are using a properly
connected socket for the humidifier.
9.
Do not place any objects on the humidifier.

10.
Use only the manufacturer's original antibacterial filter unit, which is especially
suitable for this humidifier.
11.
Do not use the humidifier after insect repellent has been used, in places with
oil residues, chemical vapors or where incense sticks are burned.
12.
Do not use the humidifier near radiators, fireplaces or gas powered devices.
13.
Do not fill water through the air outlets on the top of the humidifier.
14.
Bacteria and mold can form on the filter unit if the humidifier is not used for a
long time. Check this before using the humidifier again. The filter unit should
be replaced if there are stains.
15.
Clean the water tank and the antibacterial filter unit once a week to ensure
optimal hygiene.
16.
Do not stand on the device.
17.
Do not tilt or move the device when it is in operation. Empty the device ONLY
when it is switched off.
18.
Switch off the device and pull the plug before removing the upper housing and
moving the device.
19.
DO NOT try to repair or adjust electrical or mechanical functions on this device.
Otherwise your guarantee will lapse. The interior of the device does not
contain any user-serviceable parts. All maintenance work may only be carried
out by qualified personnel.
20.
NEVER use detergent, gasoline, glass cleaner, furniture polish, paint thinner or
other household solvents to clean any part of the humidifier.
21.
Never put the housing under water or immerse it in liquids.

INSTALLATION:
1. Place the device upright on a firm, even and
moisture-resistant surface.
For optimal humidification results, maintain
a minimum distance of 10 cm from walls or
objects.
2. To ensure optimal performance of the device, please ensure that the air
inlets and outlets are not covered.
3. Lift the upper housing off the water tank and
remove the float holder, the float and the
antibacterial filter unit from the water tank.
4. Remove the packaging of the antibacterial filter
unit and replace the components in reverse order.
5. Fill the water tank with clean water and make sure
that the maximum water level is not exceeded.
6. Place the upper housing back on the water tank
and make sure that it is securely and correctly
seated.
7. Check the power cord to ensure that it is not
damaged. Only then connect the power cord to a
power outlet.

OPERATION AND FUNCTION:
ON/OFF
Press the button (K1) to switch the unit on or off. When switched on, the
humidifier starts at medium humidification level (II) and the night light changes
between the available 7 colours (standard mode).
Nightlight and sleep-mode
With the button (K2) you can set a night light colour as desired and activate the
sleep mode.
1. Press the button (K2) at the time of the colour you want to use as a night
light. The "LIGHT" display then flashes 3 times and the desired night light
colour is stored.
2. Press the button (K2) again to activate the sleep mode. The "SLEEP"
indicator flashes 10 times. The humidification process continues at the
lowest speed level and all operating lights are deactivated.
3. Pressing the button (K2) again selects the normal operating mode with
night light deactivated. In this mode, the speed can be adjusted as desired.

4. Press the button (K2) again to return to normal operating mode with the
night light function activated and colour change between the available 7
colours.
AUTO-mode
In automatic mode (K3), the humidity in the room is monitored and visually
displayed in 3 different colours using the colour indicator display. The humidity
power/speed level is automatically adjusted to maintain an ideal humidity
between RH 45-65%.

Press the button (K4) to select the fan speed and thus the desired intensity of
the humidity output: Low - Medium - High - Turbo
The water level is low
The LED of the "ON/OFF" button flashes red if the water level in the water
tank is too low. In normal operation, the fan continues to rotate for 7 hours to
dry the filter unit and then stops automatically. The red indicator continues to
flash while the fan dries the antibacterial filter unit. In sleep mode, the unit will
continue to run for 10 hours to dry the filter unit. The red indicator continues to
flash while the fan dries the filter unit.

Filter-Reset
The antibacterial filter unit should be replaced after 4.320 operating hours. This is
indicated by flashing of the "FILTER RESET" LED. To reset the operating hours
counter, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds until a signal sounds.
If you want to replace the filter unit prematurely, you can reset the operating hours
counter manually. To do this, press the power button for 5 seconds, the "FILTER
RESET" LED will start flashing. Press the power button again for 3 seconds until a
signal sounds.
How to replace the filter unit is described in the following chapter.
CLEANING / MAINTENANCE / FILTER CHANG:
Proceed as follows to clean the appliance:
1. Switch off the unit and unplug the power cord.
2. Lift the upper housing and remove it from the water tank.
3. Now remove the filter unit including float and float holder.
4. Clean the water tank with warm water and a soft cloth.
5. Replace the antibacterial filter unit, float and float holder properly and place
the upper housing back on the water container. Pay attention to a safe and
correct hold.
Cleaning the housing
Clean the housing of the humidifier with a slightly damp cloth.
Useful cleaning instructions:
Use a solution of 50:50 water and vinegar or a 3:1 solution of water and vinegar
essence. Do not use abrasive or corrosive cleaning agents.

Maintenance
Clean the water tank every 1 to 2 days with warm water and a soft cloth. If the
humidifier is not used for a longer period of time, empty the water tank completely
and then put the unit into operation to start the drying process of the filter unit.
Cleaning the antibacterial filter unit
1. Remove the filter unit.
2. Rinse the filter unit with clean water. A low-pressure flushing method is
recommended, the cleaning time should not exceed 8 minutes.
3. The water temperature should not exceed 60°C. Rubbing may cause slight
discoloration.
4. Weak acids and weak alkaline detergents can be used for cleaning.
5. None of the above mentioned cleaning methods has an influence on the
backwater absorption/cooling effect.
6. During cleaning, the moistening paper absorbs a large amount of water, which
reduces the stiffness of the product. After drying, the stiffness returns to more
than 85% of the normal value.
Exchange of the antibacterial filter unit
Only use original filter units from alfda! The antibacterial filter unit is available at
www.allergiker-shop-alfda.de / Art.-Nr. 161563
Proceed as follows to change the filter unit:
1. Switch off the unit and unplug the power cord.
2. Lift the upper housing and remove it from the water tank.
3. Remove the float holder, the float and the filter unit.
4. Put the new filter unit, the float and the float holder back into the water tank.
5. Place the upper housing back on the water tank and pay attention to a safe
and correct hold.

TRANSPORT & STORAGE:
Transport
ATTENTION: Always switch off the appliance and unplug the power cord from the
wall outlet before transporting. Only transport the appliance when it is empty.
Storage
We recommend to clean the humidifier thoroughly before storage. Make sure that
all parts are clean and dry before storing the unit. Do not leave any water in the
water tank. Water that remains in the humidifier can lead to mineral deposits and
promote the growth of undesirable micro-organisms. Store the humidifier in a cool
and dry place.

WARRANTY CONDITIONS:
Our products are subject to strict quality control. However, if the humidifier you
have purchased does not function properly, we regret this very much and ask you
to contact the authorised customer service.

The warranty period is 2 years from date of purchase. The warranty applies to the
country in which the humidifier was supplied by the dealer. During the warranty
period, units that show defects due to material and manufacturing faults will be
repaired or replaced at our discretion. Replaced units or parts of units become our
property. The warranty services do not extend the warranty period for replaced
parts, nor do they initiate a new warranty.
Warranty claims must be made immediately after becoming aware of the defect
within the warranty period.
The following steps are necessary to enforce the warranty:
problem. Please include your name and the invoice number of the proof of
purchase. If a return shipment is agreed upon, send the unit securely packed to our
customer service. Include a copy of the sales receipt on which you note the defect.
If the defect is within the scope of our warranty service, you will receive a repaired
or new device back postage paid.
Warranty claims are excluded for damage caused by:
Abusive or improper treatment
External influences (humidity, grease, heat, overvoltage, dust etc.)
Failure to observe the safety precautions applicable to the device
Non-compliance with the operating instructions
Use of force (e.g. blow, push, fall)
Interventions that were not carried out by a service address authorized by
us
Unauthorized repair attempts
Entry in packaging not suitable for transport
Furthermore, the antibacterial filter unit is not subject to any guarantee, as it is a
consumable item.

Defects or damage to the device that are not (or no longer) covered by the
warranty will be repaired by us, if necessary against reimbursement of costs. For
an individual offer please contact our customer service. In this case, the shipping
costs are at your expense.

NOTE ON DISPOSAL:
Old electrical appliances do not belong in the household waste!
Electrical and electronic equipment must be disposed of separately from general
household waste through governmental waste disposal facilities in accordance
with directive 2002/96/EC and national laws. This can be done by returning it
when purchasing a similar device or by handing it in at an authorized collection
point for the recycling of old electrical and electronic devices. Please dispose of
batteries from the remote control separately as described below:

batteries, we are obliged to point out the following to you:
You are legally obliged to return used batteries as end user. You can return old
batteries, which we carry or have carried as new batteries in our product range,
free of charge to our dispatch warehouse (Wörth 19, 94034 Passau).
The symbols shown on the batteries have the following meaning:
The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol means that the battery must not be disposed
of with household waste.
Pb = Battery contains more than 0.004 mass percent lead
Cd = battery contains more than 0,002 % cadmium by mass
Hg = battery contains more than 0.0005 mass percent of mercury
