Operation:
Input switch:
Youcanchangethesourceinputfromthefrontpanel,alsofromtheRemote ControlUnit.
Inputchangingissequential,inonedirectionfromthefontpanel, and bidirectional from
theRemote ControlUnit.Thelastinputisrememberedand restoredafter nextpowerupor
wakeupfrom standby.
Thesequencecanbechangedbyuser. Alsotheinputyouneverusedcanbeavoided.
DigitalFilterswitch:
Thisfeatureallowtheusertochoosebetweenvarioustypesofthedigital filters(sharp/slow
roll-off,long/shortdelay,etc.) accordingtohis/hersoundpreferences.
ATDAC-10Srememberthedigital filtermodeseparatelyforeachPCM/DSD samplerate.
ItisnotrecommendedtouseDF>4for 44/48kHz becauseofahigh frequencydegradation.
Volumecontrol:
Basic version hasonlydigitalvolumecontrol.Wedonotrecommendtouseit, becauseof a
sound qualitydegradation,butsometimesitisuseful.Digital volumecontrolnotinfluence
totheauxiliaryanalogueinput.
If you notuseit,keepitat maximumvalue(0dB).
If your deviceisequippedwiththeanaloguevolumecontrol(option),you canuseitforall
inputs.
YoucanchangethevolumefromtheRemoteControlUnit only.Thelastvolumesettingis
rememberedandrestoredafternextpower uporwakeupfromstandby.
Usingauxiliaryanalogueinput:
Auxiliaryanalogueinputisintendedforusingwithdifferentanaloguesources, like
turntablephonostageorcellularphone.Remember that digitalvolumecontroldoesnot
workinthismode!
Standby:
If auxiliaryanalogueinputisactive,device enterstandbymodeafteralongtime(24h by
default).
WithUSB/SPDIF/TOSLINKinputs, deviceenterstandbymode(after2minbydefault) if
thereisnovalidsignal presentsandwakeupimmediatelywhenthesignal becomevalid.
Duetoalowdevice'power consumptionit isnotmandatorytoswitchthepower ofbythe
mainswitchatthebackpanel.Usecanuseit justfor alongperiodofnon using.

Usingexternalamplifiercontrol:
ATDAC-10Shavegalvanicisolateddigital (drycontact,i.e. - opencollector)outputwhich
isdedicatedtocontroltheexternal amplifier. Drycontact isclosed(short)if ATDAC-10S
isnotinstandby. 3.5mm Jackisusedforconnection.
Seebelowtheelectricalschematicofthisoutput.

Cablerecommendations:
Useonlyhighqualitycablesaccordingyour preferencesandpossibilities!
Speciallypayattention totheinputcables:
USBcable: - donotusethinandverylongcables. 0.5-1m isthereasonable length.
SPDIFcable: notall regular interconnect RCAcablesarecapabletooperate inhigh
frequencies.
Optical TOSLINKcable:notenoughqualitycablemaynotoperate in192kHzorevenat
96kHzsample rate.Alsofor somecheapcablesdegradationwithtime(aging)was
observed.

Changeconfigurationandfirmware upgrade(DFU):
Sometimestheuserwantstochangethebehaviorofhisdevice.
ATDAC-10Shasparametersblock, whichcanbedownloadedtoPCor uploadedfromPCto
device.
Usingthespecialconfiguration PCsoftware,it ispossible tochangeforexample - standby
parameters(timeouts), inputsorder, inputsusing,etc.(aboutthissoftwarereadit'sownuser
manual).
Alsosometimewe canfindabugindevice firmwareandwanttoupdate it.Todothisyou haveto
obtainthefile withthenew firmwarefrom us.
WithATDAC-10Sitisveryeasyandthereisnospecial softwarerequired!
Justconnect yourPCtodevice!(micro-USBconnectorinthemiddle of backpanel).
Youwillsee 2newexternal discs:
with1file oneach:firmware.binandvariable.cfg:

Youcanuseanyfile manager(WindowsExplorer, TotalCommander, FAR,etc.)toworkwith
thesefiles.Youneedonly2operation:delete,read(forconfigurationfile only) andwrite.
Thendisconnectthedevice fromPC.
Remember:
Towrite thenewfile -pleasepreviouslydeletetheoldone!
Ifyoumake amistake and wanttowritethefileagain, disconnect devicefromPCand
connect again!
