knob on the cooker

to “OFF”, to stop

thegasowand

turn the unit off.

• Ventilate the area.

• Check for leaks

(see LEAK TEST)

• If odour or

sound persists,

“UNLOCK” the

cartridge lock

lever to the upward

position and

remove and isolate

the gas cartridge

and contact your

dealer or local gas

supplier imme-

unit.Turnthecontrolknob

anti-clockwiseuntilyouheara

‘Click’.Repeatifnecessary

afterwaiting20seconds.

USING YOUR BUTANE GAS COOKER

Howtoigniteyourbutanegascooker

Turntheignitionknobcounter-clockwiseuntilyouheara‘click’

sound.

• Iftheburnerdoesnotlight,repeattheignitionprocedure.

• Flaringmayoccurduringthewarmupperiodorifthe

applianceismovedduringuse.Thearingwillstopwithin

oneminuteorwhenitisnolongerbeingmoved.

THE AUTO SAFETY DEVICE

Inthecaseoflongtermorexcessiveheatnearthegascar-

tridge,pressurewillbuilduptosetoffthesafetydevice.Thegas

cartridgeisautomaticallyejectedintheeventofover-pressurein

thegascartridgeandtheamewillbeextinguished.Theunitwill

notoperateuntilthegaspressureofthecartridgereturnstothe

normalrange.

Howtoresettheautosafetydevice

1. Turnthecontrolknobtothe“OFF”position

2. Removethegascartridge.

3. Turntheignitionknobtothe“MAX”positionandwaitfor5

minutestoreleaseanyexcessgasinsidetheunit.

4. Returntheignitionknobbacktothe“OFF”position.

5. Pushthecartridgeleverdowntothe“LOCK”positionand

thenreleaseitbacktothe“UNLOCK”position.

6. Determinethecauseofover-pressure,i.e.cookerusedin

strongdirectsunlight,anoversizedpot/panhasbeenused,

insufcientventilation,etc.

7. Makenecessaryadjustmentstolocation,pot/panused,

andifnecessary,allowthegascartridgetocoolbefore

re-installing.Anotheroptionistoinstallafreshcoolgas

cartridge.

8. Followtheproceduresforinstallingthegascartridgeand

ignition,thenre-ignite.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

• Beforecaringfor,orcleaningyourbutanecooker,makesure

thattheignitionknobisinthe“OFF”position.Ifthecookeris

stillhot,waitforittocooldownbeforecleaning.

• Ensurethattherearenosignsofblockage(eg.debris,

insects,etc)ineithertheburnerportholes,theprimaryair

inletortheneckoftheironburner.Usecompressedairor

pipecleanerwiretoclearobstructions.Acopperwirebrush

canbeusedtoremovecorrosionfromtheburnersurfaces.

Brushitafterwardslightlywithcookingoiltopreventthe

formationofrustwhilestoring.

WERECOMMENDTHATTHISSHOULDBEDONEAFTER

EVERYCOOKINGSESSIONINCOASTALAREAS.

Takingcareofyourcookerwillprolongitslifespan.

Cleaning&maintenance

1. Theunitmustbecleanedaftereachuseandmaintained

atleastonceeverysixmonths.Theunitmustonlybe

servicedbyalicencedserviceprofessional.

 Forrepairs,sparepartsorserviceoftheappliance,please

contact086100ALVA(2582).

2. Whenyounoticeasmallameornoamewhenyouuse

anewcartridge,itmaybethattheinjectoristoodirtyor

evenblocked.Youcancleantheinjectorwithaneedle

thinnerthan0.47mmoryoucancalltheafter-salescentre

foradvice.

Cookerbody

1. Afterusingtheunit,itmaybeveryhot.Pleasewaitforat

least10minutesbeforeyoumoveorstoreit.

2. Ensuretheunitiscleanatalltimes.Onlycleantheunitafter

thegascartridgeisremovedandtheunithascooled.Clean

thecookerbodyusingadampcloth.Usekitchendetergent

ifnecessary.Wipedry.

Pansupportanddrippan

Removethepansupportanddrippanandcleanwithwarmwater

andkitchendetergentifnecessary.

Burnerheadandsurroundings

Soil,dirt,oil,dust,grimeetc.canclogtheburnerandaffectthe

ame.Cleantheburnerheadwithametalbrushandkeepoutof

water.

Ignitionplug

Keepcleananddry.Cleanwithadrycloth.

Storingoftheappliance

Whentheapplianceisnotinuse,pleasekeepitinasafeplace

FLASHBACKS

Intheeventofashbackwhilsttheapplianceisinuse,turnall

Wait5minutesbeforeattemptingtorelighttheappliance.Ifthe

problempersists,checkforblockagesandensurethecartridge

hasbeeninstalledcorrectly.Ifproblempersistsdonottrytorec-

tifytheproblemyourselfasthiscouldresultinseriousinjuryand/

orpropertydamage.Removethecartridgefromtheappliance

andpleasecontactourcustomercaredepartmenton
