SETTING UP YOUR BUTANE STOVE
1. Conrmthatyouhavetherightmodelforyourtypeofgas
supply.
2. Whenunpacking,makesurethatallofthepartsofthe
stoveareincluded.AssemblethepartsasshowninFig. 7.


notcompletelyin“O”position,
thecartridgecannotbe
engagedinto“LOCK”position.

• Turn the ignition
knob on the stove
to‘O’,tostopthe
gasowandturn
the unit off.
• Ventilate the
area.
• Check for leaks
(see LEAK TEST)
• If odour or sound
persists,release
the cartridge
lock lever to the
upward posi-
tion and remove
and isolate the
gas cartridge
and contact
your dealer or
local gas supplier
immediately.

breakand/orleakwhichwillproducehissingsoundandasmell

Theleaktestmustbecarriedoutinawell-ventilatedarea,free
fromanyamesorothersourcesofignition.
• Withthecartridgesinstalled
inthestove.Opentheignitor
knobs.
• Brushtheconnections(stove
tocartridges)withasolution
ofequalpartssoapandwater
(makesureit’sfoamy).
• Astreamofbubblesforming
indicatesagasleak.(See
Fig.13)
• Ifbubblesappear,turntheigni-
tionknobOFF,‘O’,(clockwise)
andreleasethecartridgelock
leverstotheupwardposition
andremoveandisolatethe
gascartridges.
• Re-installthegascartridges,
makingsurethecartridgeslot
ispointingupwardandretry
theleaktest.
• Ifyouareunsureorifyou
cannotinstallthecartridges
withoutaleakoccuringplace
thebutanecartridgeoutsidein
acool,well-ventilatedareaand
contactAlvaon086 100 ALVA
(2582).
• Aleakbetweenthestoveand
canisterscanleadtoare,
whichisverydangerousand
canresultinextensiveinjuryor
evendeath.
USING YOUR BUTANE GAS STOVE
Howtoigniteyourbutanegasstove
Turntheignitionknobcounter-clockwiseuntilyouheara‘click’
sound.
• Iftheburnerdoesnotlight,repeattheignitionprocedure.
• Flaringmayoccurduringthewarmupperiodorifthe
applianceismovedduringuse.Thearingwillstopwithin
oneminuteorwhenitisnolongerbeingmoved.

THE AUTO SAFETY DEVICE
Inthecaseoflongtermorexcessiveheatnearthefuelcar-
tridge,pressurewillbuilduptosetoffthesafetydevice.Thegas
cartridgeisautomaticallyejectedintheeventofover-pressurein
thegascartridgeandtheamewillbeextinguished.Theunitwill
notoperateuntilthegaspressureofthecartridgereturnstothe
normalrange.
Howtoresettheautosafetydevice
1. Turnthecontrolknobtothe“O”position
2. Removethegascartridge.
3. Turntheignitionknobtothe“MAX”positionandwaitfor5
minutestoreleaseanyexcessgasinsidetheunit.
4. Returntheignitionknobbacktothe“O”position.
5. Pushthecartridgeleverdowntothe“LOCK”positionand
thenreleaseitbacktothe“UNLOCK”position.
6. Determinethecauseofover-pressure,i.e.Stoveusedin
strongdirectsunlight,anoversizedpot/panhasbeenused,
insufcientventilation,etc.
7. Makenecessaryadjustmentstolocation,pot/panused,
andifnecessary,allowthegascartridgetocoolbefore
re-installing.Anotheroptionistoinstallafreshcoolgas
cartridge.
8. Followtheproceduresforinstallingthegascartridgeand
ignition,thenre-ignite.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
• Beforecaringfor,orcleaningyourbutanestove,makesure
thattheignitionknobisinthe“O”or“off”position.Ifthe
stoveisstillhot,waitforittocooldownbeforecleaning.
• Ensurethattherearenosignsofblockage(eg.debris,
insects,etc)ineithertheburnerportholes,theprimaryair
inletortheneckoftheironburner.Usecompressedairor
pipecleanerwiretoclearobstructions.Acopperwirebrush
canbeusedtoremovecorrosionfromtheburnersurfaces.
Brushitafterwardslightlywithcookingoiltopreventthe
formationofrustwhilestoring.
WERECOMMENDTHATTHISSHOULDBEDONEAFTER
EVERYCOOKINGSESSIONINCOASTALAREAS.
Takingcareofyourstovewillprolongitslifespan.
Cleaning&maintenance
1. Theunitmustbecleanedaftereachuseandmaintained
atleastonceeverysixmonths.Theunitmustonlybe
servicedbyalicensedserviceprofessional.

 Forrepairs,sparepartsorserviceoftheappliance,please
contact086100ALVA(2582).
2. Whenyounoticesmallameornoamewhenyouusea
newcartridge,itmaybethattheinjectoristoodirtyoreven
blocked.Youcancleantheinjectorwithaneedlethinner
than0.47mmoryoucancalltheafter-salescentreforad-
vice.
Cookerbody
1. Afterusingtheunit,itmaybeveryhot.Pleasewaitforat
least10minutesbeforeyoumoveorstoreit.
2. Ensuretheunitiscleanatalltimes.Onlycleantheunitafter
thegascartridgeisremovedandtheunithascooled.Clean
thecookerbodyusingadampcloth.Usekitchendetergent
ifnecessary.Wipedry.
Potholdersanddrippan
Removethepotholdersanddrippanandcleanwithwarmwater
andkitchendetergentifnecessary.
Burnerheadandsurroundings
Soil,dirt,oil,dust,grimeetc.canclogtheburnerandaffectthe
ame.Cleantheburnerheadwithametalbrushandkeepoutof
water.
Ignitionplug
Keepcleananddry.Cleanwithadrycloth.
Storingoftheappliance
Whentheapplianceisnotinuse,pleasekeepitinasafeplace
where,
1. itcan’tbepressedbyotherappliances
2. itissafefromdustanddirt
3. itcanbekeptdry
4. itissafefromheatanddirectsunlight
FLASHBACKS
Intheeventofashbackwhilsttheapplianceisinuse,turnall
thecontrolstothe‘OFF’position.
Wait5minutesbeforeattemptingtorelighttheappliance.Ifthe
problempersists,checkforblockagesandensurethecartridge
hasbeeninstalledcorrectly.Ifproblempersistsdonottrytorec-
tifytheproblemyourselfasthiscouldresultinseriousinjuryand/
orpropertydamage.Removethecartridgefromtheappliance.
Storetheapplianceinacleananddryenvironment.
Storeinawellventilatedareaawayfromdirectsunlightoran
electricalsource.
DO NOT use steel
based products or
brushes - these
contaminate the cast
iron and can cause
rust.
DO NOT use pot
scourers or abrasive
cleaning
products on this
cooker as these will
permanently
mark the cooker.
