disconnectingthistypeofcable,pressinonthelockingtabsbeforedisconnectingthe
cable.Asyoupullconnectorsapart,keepthemevenlyalignedtoavoidbendingany
connectorpins.Also,beforeconnectingacable,makesurebothconnectorsare
correctlyorientedandaligned.

thatmayhavebuiltupinyourbody.

Whenunpacking,followthesesteps:

PowerProtection
Thegreatestthreatstoasystem’ssupplyofpowerarepowerloss,powerspikes,and
powersurgescausedbyelectricalstorms,whichinterruptsystemoperationand/or
damagesystemcomponents.Toprotectyoursystem,alwaysproperlygroundpowercables
andoneofthefollowingdevices.

Surgeprotectorsareavailableinavarietyoftypesandusuallyprovidealevelof
protectionproportionalwiththecostofthedevice.Surgeprotectorspreventvoltage

costmorethansurgeprotectors.However,lineconditionerscannotprotectagainsta

UninterruptiblePowerSupply
Uninterruptiblepowersupply(UPS)systemsofferthemostcompleteprotection
againstvariationsonpowerbecausetheyusebatterypowertokeeptheserver
