SD Card Problem
1. Which type of memory card can be supported by this camera? What is the
maximum card that is used?
APEMAN A77 supports class 10 Micro SD/TF card/ SDHC card from 8GB to 64GB.
64GB is the maximum. SD card is not included.
2. Why my camera does not recognize class 10 SD card, and there is always an
attention on the screen shows" please insert SD card” or “SD card error” or “No
card”?
The new SD card should be formatted on the APEMAN A77 before use.
There are some warm tips about formatting a new SD card:
1).Insert the SD card before you turn on the camera;
2).Find format option on the setting table;
3).Format the SD card on the camera.
3. I have a Mac book or an iPad, and why the SD card cannot be recognized ?
For IOS system, it requires different SD card format.
To solve this problem, you just need to format the SD card with your Mac book first.
The SD card should be formatted as MO-DOS FAT.

Once you format it correctly, the mac will read the SD card.
Warm tip: Backup the files if necessary before you format it.
4.Why the videos are damaged/ not saved when I check it ?
Please check whether you have formatted the SD card, or the SD card is defective. If
so, it will cause such problems.Here we suggest you format the SD card or replace the
SD card and then give it another try.
Files Transfer and WIFI Function
1. How to download the files on the computer?
You can connect the camera with your computer via the original USB cable and
download the files. Or you can also download the files from the memory card via your
SD card reader.
2 How to download the files on the phone?
Connect the camera with your phone via the APP, and then you can view and downloa
d the files directly. Or you can view and download the files via your TF card reader,
which would be more convenient.
3.How to use the Wi-Fi function of APEMAN A77?

Firstly, you should install the APP on the phone; ( iSmartDV for the old A77; and DV
KING 4K if your camera firmware version is V6.1.0.1-B or higher. If you are not sure
about that, you can check your manual, too )
Secondly, press the “Wi-Fi” button on the camera to turn on the Wi-Fi function;
Thirdly, turn off 4G data of your phone and turn on Wi-Fi, and then
find the SSID and connect the Wi-Fi of APEMAN A77;
Finally, you can open the APP, connect the device and control it directly.
And please note that your phone may ask for permission for the first time you use it,
and you need to pass it, otherwise it will not work normally.
To turn off Wi-Fi, press up button again.
And here are some tips:
1).Please make sure you have turned off your Mobile phone data, VPN and so on, and
make sure it was under stable Wi-Fi internet.
2).Please connect the Wi-Fi first and then turn on the app.
3).Please make sure that the camera has enough power.
4).And you have to update the app to the newest version.
4. Why the Wi-Fi fails when I download the files ?
First, make sure your phone has enough space for you to download the files.
Then, please note that the Wi-Fi signal is the AC signal sent by the camera. So
sometimes it will become unstable, especially when you are downloading big file.
Therefore we suggest you don't put the camera too far away from your phone. Also
using the USB cable to transfer the big files is much more time-saving and power
saving.
5.Can you please give me some warm tips about the Wi-Fi function?
Here are some tips for you:
1).Press and hold the Up button again to turn off the Wi-Fi
2).The camera can only be connect to one device at a time
3).The Wi-Fi connection is a little bit power-consuming, so please avoid connecting
Wi-Fi when the battery power is low.
Remote Control and Other Accessories
1.Why the remote control doesn't work ?
First, check whether the light of the remote flash when you press it. Press the remote
for more times to activate the battery if haven't used it for a long time. Or you can
replace the battery--CR2025.
Then, turn on the camera and have a test. Normally it will work.
Do not press it continuously cause the camera needs sometime to react.
2.What is optimal range when using the remote control?
The maximum typically not exceeding 5 meters.

3. Is the remote water-proof ? Can I use it underwater ?
Please note that the remote control is not water-proof.
4.Can I attach an external mic to this camera ?
We are so sorry to tell you that you cannot attach an external mic adapter to this
camera. Only the new version A79 has this function.
5.How to use the accessories ?

Please also note that some of the accessories are not included and you can buy it from

6.Where can I get a red filter ?
You can find one from Amazon and the recommended size is 1.51in（38.5mm）.
Water-proof Case
1.How to test the water-proof case?
There are some warm tips for this underwater camera:
1). Please make sure that the cover used is the waterproof-cover.
2). Before diving, you can put a piece of paper towel into the waterproof case, and
then close the waterproof case, and put it into the water for 15-30 minutes for testing.
You can also check if the waterproof case is leaking by pressing the button.
3).The machine is expensive, and it will be damaged once water leaked into the
camera. So please make sure that the case was closed tightly before diving.
4). If there is a small amount of fog inside the waterproof case, please note that it is
because the machine is working in the sealed case and the heat dissipation is poor,
thus causing the fog, which is a normal phenomenon and will not damage the
machine.
2.Water leak into the case and the camera was damaged, what should I do?
So sorry for bringing you such inconvenience.
Would you please help us confirm several things so that we can solve it for you
ASAP ?
1). Is the water-proof case broken ? Or the case is opened while using ? Or the case is
complete, but water leak into the case ?
2). Would you please kindly try the following steps to test this item?
Take out the battery, and then plug in the charging cable, connecting the camera with
your computer, to see whether it can be turned on. Better connecting it with PC with
the original USB cable.
Or take out the SD card to see whether it can be turned on and work normally[with

battery].
Please note that you need to long-press the power button for 3 seconds to turn it on.
3. If steps two doesn't activate the camera, would you please contact us and send us a
video showing the testing process, so that we can ask our engineer to check and offer
you a nice solution ?

Camera Lens
1.What if I scratch the camera lens ? Can it be replaced ?
Really sorry that this is man-made damage, which is not covered by the warranty. We
have confirmed with our engineer, and he said that it is hard for your to replace the
lens.
2.Why there is always a dot on the photo and video I took ?
First, please clean the water-proof case and the camera lens.
Maybe you have set the exposure too high. We suggest you default the camera.
If the problem still exists, please contact the CS team.
3.Is the camera lens adjustable ?
This camera enjoys fixed 170 wide angle lens.
Videos and Photos
1.Why each video I get is less than 15 minutes ?
It's normal that the video file will be divided into many files.
As you know, this camera supports Class10, FAT32 SD card. So every video file is
restricted within 4G, about 8-15minutes. When the length of file is up to 4G, it will
automatically stop and then record a new file, and the new file will repeat a little from
the previous file. Almost every action camera with Class 10,FAT 32 SD card exists
this problem. Hope you could understand it. Also since the camera cannot recognize
when the file reach 4G, so it will cut the video automatically at about 8-15 minutes
even you use 1080P resolution.
Therefore we suggest you turn off the Loop Recording in the settings, and save the
files in the length of every 4G file.
2.Why the videos look so dark at night, but photos look better than videos?
We have contacted the engineer and he said this is normal.
1). While working in dark environment, the image quality of digital camera will
definitely be influenced, and you can use a flash light if needed;
2). The higher the camera resolution, the larger the noise in the dark environment;
3). The working principle of static image and motion image is different and it is not
comparable.

3.Why photos look distorted ?
Don't worry, this is normal.
This camera is equipped with wide-angle lens.
A wide-angle lens is also called a short lens. When using a wide-angle lens for
close-up, the foreground is exaggerated and can produce more severe perspective
distortion. When shooting a close-up scene, it will produce perspective distortion and
increase the sense of distance between the front and rear scenes.
If needed, you can use photo editing software to solve this problem.
4.Why sometimes the video looks strange, like a slow motion one ?
This is because that the SD card is at a low speed, so it cannot accept the continuous
writing of the video.
To solve this problem, the best way is to use a brand new Class 10 or higher micro SD
card. We would recommend San Disk Class 10 or U1 micro SD card.
Battery and charger
1.Does this camera comes with a charger ?
This camera comes with two 1050mah batteries and charger is not included.
2.How to charge the camera ?
There are some warm tips about the charging problem:
1).We suggest you don’t charge it via your computer. Because the electricity flow of
computer is low, and it would be very slow while charging, or even fail to charge the
battery.
2).We suggest you use your phone charger to charge it. After you connect the power
cable, you can check whether the indicator light is on. Or you can buy a charger from
our store if needed.
3).Battery should be installed in the camera while charging. Please note that normally
when you receive the camera, the battery is not pre-installed to protect the camera.
4).The normal charging time of each battery is about 3 hours. So please unplug the
charging cable in time.
5). If you don't use the camera for a long time, please take out the battery.
3.How to replace the battery ?
Unscrew the four small screws on the back of the remote and replace with a new
CR2025 cell battery.
4.Why I need to reset the time every time I change the battery ?
Since the camera does not have a built-in battery, once the battery is removed or the
camera is out of power while shooting, the camera’s time will be reset to default when
it is powered on next time, and then you need to reset the time in the setting.

Functional Problems
1.Can I use it as a PC camera ?
No, sorry that this camera doesn't support PC mode.
2.Can I use it as a dash camera ?
You can use it as a dash camera in case of emergency.
But we don't suggest you to use it as a dash camera for a long time.
1).This is an action camera, not a professional dash camera, so some of the function is
different from dash camera, such as the loop recording function. Action camera will
not overwrite the videos even when you turn on the loop recording function.Cause
each video a the action camera owner may be valuable. And it also doesn't have
G-sensor function, which is quite important for a dash camera.
2).If you used an action camera as a dash cam, the battery may swell up after charging
with the power for a long time.And the life span of the camera will become shorter.
3).For safety reasons, we suggest you buy a professional dash camera for long-term
use.
3.Can I use it with a my drone ?
Yes. But you cannot get real time videos in this case. You can check the videos after
you finish the flight.
4.If I turned on the loop recording function, will the files be overwrote when the
SD card is FULL?
Yes, for A77, when the SD card is full, it will overwrite the files if you have set loop
recording function on.
5.How to use the time-lapse function ?
It is easy. Long press the OK button to enter the first setting, and then select the
time-lapse function.
After that, exit the setting table and back to the video mode and then you can start to
record.
Other recording modes, such as slowly video mode, loop recording mode also work in
this way.
7.How to enter playback mode?
Likewise, Long press the OK button to enter the second setting. Here you will find the
file and you can playback it.
8.How to delete a file ?
First, you need to enter the playback mode, and when you view a certain file, you can
press the mode button and you will see the delete option.
9. Why the camera is so hot ?
Since this machine is a fully-sealed digital device, it will have a certain amount of

heat during use, and temperatures of around 45 Celsius is to be expected.
Firmware
1.How to get the latest firmware ?
One camera model may have several firmware versions. To make sure you get the
right one, please contact the CS team with the current firmware version you have.
2.How to upgrade the firmware ?
Upgrading steps:
1).Download the firmware package on your computer, also you need to unzip the
files;
2).Format the TF card on your computer;
3).Copy the firmware into the TF card;
4).And insert the card into the camera;
5).Turn on the camera, waiting for the appear of the logo APEMAN.
During the upgrading process, the screen will not light up. Upgrading process lasts
about 2-3 minutes. After the upgrading, the machine will be turned on again, and then
use the machine to format the card , and it can be used normally.
3.Should I upgrade my camera ?
If there is no any problem, we do not suggest you to update the firmware by yourself.
Because if you fail to upgrade it, the camera will be ruined and this is not covered by
the warranty.
