Instructions for exchange of the bass slides in a APOGEE
CALIPER, DUETTA
Caveat:
The exchange of a bass slide is not for the inexperienced handyman. Some
skills, technical understanding and experience in working with tools is
Prerequisite for the success of the exchange.
We take no responsibility for damaged or crumpled foil and poor

Preparation
Make sure you order the correct film. We supply the left and right
separately.
In addition, the films for the signature/reference models are not the same as the
standard models.
Check the contents of the delivery.
Included:

Now you remove with a 3mm
bit first the lower and
upper crossbar. These are not
bonded but only loosely screwed on.
Next remove all
bolts from the lateral
bars.
The lateral ridges are
bonded. To remove the bonding
the solution is to use a
correspondingly large
screwdriver and
drive it with cautious
hammer blows between
both braces. Make
sure that you do not
split the wood.
Try on both sides
to loosen the adhesive.
Now you can carefully
lift the sidebar with the foil.
Do the same with the
another sidebar.
Now remove the old
panel and scrape with a
putty knife the rest of the
silicone and film remains from
the wooden frame.
Use the scraper to remove
even the old foam residue
which remains on the
wooden frames.
The upper parts of the framework
must be thoroughly cleaned.
Next, loosen the
wiring of the
crossover and remove
the remaining aluminum and
tape strips.
Now relax the side-mounted
screws until you effortlessly to
5 mm wide spacers between the
frame and clamping bar can be
used. Insert next to each
clamping screw a spacer.
Now glue all around the supplied
foam rubber strips into the
recesses provided for and press
everything carefully with the role.
Now select it middle of the first
and last with the help of a
magnetic strip Eddings on the
wood frame. This is important to
be able to the tracks of the films
precisely position. Often, these
markings are however already
available.
Now carefully place the bass
slide in the frame and align the
foil on both marks at the top and
bottom. Make sure that while the
film is not creased.
