About the A200 Drinking Water System
Water is the most important resource liquid in the world.
And although the water you use for drinking and cooking
constutes less than one percent of all water used in the
home, its quality is probably most important to you.
Experts suggest you drink approximately eight, eight-
ounce glasses of water per day. Now that you have an
A200 Drinking Water System, you can rest assured you’re
drinking clean, high quality water. And it will taste great
too. With an A200 Drinking Water System, drinking those
eight glasses of water will be a pleasure, not a chore.
Since A200 Drinking Water Systems signicantly reduce heavy metals (such as lead),
chemicals, minerals, and unpleasant tastes and odors in your water*, you may want
to make some adjustments when using A200 Drinking Water when cooking.
* The contaminants listed are not necessarily in your water.
Let your taste buds decide how much water to use.
When mixing concentrated juices and
drinks or making gelan, tea or coee,
you may need to adjust the amount of
water used. You may nd that you can use
less coee or tea and sll get the desired
taste. Or in the case of concentrated
drinks, you can add more water without
geng a watered-down taste. Also, it
probably won’t be necessary for you to
descale your automac coee maker with
vinegar as recommended.
A200 Drinking Water is ideal for cooking and baking.
Don’t forget to use water from your A200 Drinking Water System for cooking
pasta, and washing fruits and vegetables. Whenever a recipe calls for water,
reach for your special drinking water tap.
Use A200 Drinking Water in irons and small humidiers/vaporizers.
For extended operaon and easier maintenance, use A200 Drinking Water
in irons and small humidiers. You’ll no longer have to buy dislled water or
suer the consequences of using common tap water in irons and humidiers.
Since water produced by your system has a reduced mineral content, it’s ideal
for use in these appliances and it’s available right at your kitchen sink.

Make ice cubes with A200 Drinking Water.
If your refrigerator/freezer is equipped with an ice maker, you may want to
consider running a line from your system to the ice maker. If you don’t have
an ice maker, be sure to ll your ice cube trays with Kineco Drinking Water.
Either way, you’ll be able to enjoy beer tasng and clearer ice cubes.
Houseplants and pets like Kineco Drinking Water too.
Don’t forget about your plants and pets. Just like you, they’ll
love Kineco Drinking Water.
A200 Drinking Water Systems oer ve stages of protecon to ensure you’re always
geng good, clean water. The system signicantly reduces the heavy metals,
chemicals, minerals, and objeconable tastes and odors that may be in your water.
See performance data sheet for individual contaminants and reducon performance.
Stage 1 – Prelter
The rst ltraon stage, the prelter (Part No: sediment 9309A, high capacity
carbon / sediment 9461A), prepares the water for the reverse osmosis process.
The ve-micron lter captures sediment and small parculate maer, and
reduces chlorine (high-capacity carbon / sediment only) protecng the reverse
osmosis membrane and enhancing its performance.
Stage 2 – Reverse Osmosis Membrane
Aer preltraon, the water travels to the reverse osmosis membrane
cartridge where the primary cleaning is performed. Here, water is forced
through a semipermeable membrane under pressure, many or most minerals,
chemicals or objeconable maer that might have been in your water are
ushed down the drain.
Stage 3 – Storage Tank
Aer the water is processed, it is stored in a tank unl needed. Kineco’s
storage tank turnover feature keeps the water from becoming stale.

A200 Drinking Water System
5
Stage 4 – Posilter Polisher
Aer leaving the storage tank, the water travels to the posilter (Part No.
9306B). Containing acvated carbon, the posilter gives a nal polish to your
water, further reducing unpleasant tastes and odors.
Stage 5 – Faucet
The nal protecon stage is a custom, decorator, lead-free tap, which is
mounted on your sink. With this tap, you can be sure that lead won’t be added
into your drinking water.
Demand Operaon Means Added Eciency
A200 Drinking Water Systems are non-electric and demand-operated, which
means they operate according to your usage. With demand-operaon, A200
Drinking Water Systems produce high quality drinking water, while they
maximize water eciency and performance.
Automac System Shutdown Conserves Water
When the storage tank is full, your A200 Drinking Water System shuts down.
It will begin making water again when the storage tank has been parally
emped. A storage tank turnover feature ensures fresher, beer-tasng water
and prevents unnecessary connuous water producon. Unlike other systems,
processed water is not constantly sent to drain.

Quick Disconnect Filter Cartridges Make Maintenance Easy
Filter changes are a snap on the A200 Drinking Water
System. Aer fully depressurizing your system, change
cartridges simply by twisng them one-quarter turn
and pulling downward. Detailed instrucons are
provided with each replacement cartridge. Addional
informaon is supplied in this owner’s manual under
“Filter Changes.”
System Accessories
Your system may also include the following upgrades, which are available from your
local Kineco dealer.
Decorator Finish, Lead-free Drinking Water Taps
If your system was upgraded with a Kineco decorator tap, rotate the handle to
dispense your drinking water. Decorator taps are available in Classic Chrome,
San Nickel/ Stainless, Brilliant Nickel, Oil Rubbed Bronze, Polished Brass,
Arcc White, Light Biscuit and Black Licorice.
Oversized Storage Tank*
A larger storage tank supplies more water on demand for larger families, but
funcons like the standard tank. There’s no need to do anything special to your
system. Simply enjoy your clean, clear drinking water.
*System accessory is not WQA cered.

A200 Drinking Water System
7
NOTE: You must follow the A200 Drinking Water System’s operaonal, maintenance and
replacement instrucons to ensure proper system performance. Recommended
hardness is zero to 10 gpg for extended product life. Do not use where water is
microbiologically unsafe or with water of unknown quality. Systems claiming cyst
reducon may be used on disinfected water containing lterable cysts.
The A200 Drinking Water System must be properly maintained to connue providing
high quality drinking water.
If you should ever discover a problem with your drinking water system, turn o the
water supply to the system. Then call your authorized Kineco dealer for service. If
you plan to be away from home for more than a few days, shut o the water supply to
your system to extend its life. You may also want to drain the drinking water storage
tank upon your return to ensure the freshest water.
Booster Pumps
Some households require booster pumps to ensure that adequate feed pressure is
being supplied to the system. Unplug or turn o the power supply to any pumps
before aempng to service your system.
An average family of four with average drinking water use can expect the prelter
and posilter cartridges to last approximately nine months to one year. Kineco
recommends annual cartridge replacements for these cartridges. The reverse osmosis
membrane cartridge should be replaced when the system stops properly reducing
dissolved solids.
Your local, authorized Kineco dealer will change your cartridges, completely
sanize your system, check your water and make sure your system is operang
properly. If you choose to install your new cartridges yourself, follow the
instrucons carefully. Never aempt to remove any of the system’s cartridges
without rst depressurizing the system. Be sure to completely sanize
your system by following the instrucons provided in the “Sanizaon
Procedure” secon of this owner’s manual to prevent contaminaon from
human contact.

8
If you choose to change the cartridges on your A200 Drinking Water System yourself,
you must use a sanizaon kit available from your Kineco dealer. Follow the
instrucons to fully sanize your system. Wash your hands thoroughly and do not
touch any internal porons of the system. Or call your local, authorized Kineco
dealer who can change the necessary lters, disinfect your system and analyze your
water to be sure it is of the best quality.
WARNING: To avoid possible injury and property damage. This system must be properly
depressurized before aempng to remove any cartridge or other component.
NOTE: Be prepared to catch any water when disconnecng and sanizing your system.
A. Remove the decorave cover. Close the cold water supply valve. Open the
drinking water tap to drain the storage tank. Wait unl all the ow stops at
the open tap before connuing (this may take several minutes).
B. Remove the prelter and posilter cartridges 1. Be prepared to catch
accidental water spills when removing the cartridges. Discard the cartridges.
Remove the membrane cartridge from the center of the bracket assembly
2. Drain this cartridge into a pan or the sink and retain it for reinstallaon
later in this procedure.
C. Fill the sanizer cartridges full with clean water. Add 1 dropper (5 mL) of
regular, unscented household bleach (5.25% sodium hypochlorite) to the
center of each cartridge 3. Install the sanizer cartridges into the prelter,
posilter and membrane heads 4.
D. Close the drinking water tap. Be sure the storage tank valve is open. Slowly
open the cold water supply valve and allow chlorinated water to ll the
storage tank for approximately four to ve minutes.
E. Close the cold water supply valve and the storage tank valve. Open the
tap to depressurize the system. Remove the sanizer cartridges 5.
Be prepared to catch accidental spills from these cartridges. Drain the
cartridges. Set aside one of the cartridges for use in Step G. Retain the other
two sanizer cartridges for future use. Close the tap.
F. Install the new posilter cartridge into the posilter head on the right-hand
side of the bracket manifold. Install the membrane cartridge into the center
of the bracket manifold 6.
G. Mix 1/3 cup clean water with one level teaspoon of Iron Out or sodium
metabisulte. Add this soluon to the sanizer cartridge le from Step E.
A small, plasc household funnel or the dropper provided in Kineco’s
sanizaon kit may aid in adding soluon to the cartridge. Be sure to
throughly wash the funnel before using for any other purpose. Add enough
clean water to this cartridge to ll it and install it to the prelter head 7.

9
H. Disconnect the tubing from the storage tank valve and put the tubing end
into a bucket or pan. Open the cold water supply valve and allow the product
water to discharge from the tubing into the bucket or pan for 15 to 20
minutes. This should adequately ush the sanizaon soluon through the
membrane. Close the cold water supply valve aer this me. Reconnect the
tubing to the storage tank valve. If the tubing end is scarred or scratched, cut
away the damaged end before connecng it to the tank.
IMPORTANT: You must properly rinse the membrane sanizing soluon
from the membrane. DO NOT drink the water from the
system during this rinsing procedure.
NOTE: The serial number is located on the data plate that is aached to the
inside of the bracket cover. If your system is installed on a chlorinated
water supply, use a high capacity carbon/sediment prelter
(Part No. 9461A) to remove the chlorine before the membrane.
If your system is installed on a non-chlorinated water supply, use a
sediment prelter cartridge (Part No. 9309A).
Using a carbon/sediment prelter on an unchlorinated supply may
cause a bacteria/odor problem.
A200 reverse osmosis systems can only be used for arsenic reducon
on chlorinated water supplies containing detectable residual free
chlorine at the system inlet. This chlorine must be removed with a
high-capacity carbon/sediment prelter (Part No. 9461A).
I. Remove the sanizer cartridge from the prelter head on the le-hand
side of the system and install the new prelter cartridge 8.
J. Open the tap. Open the cold water supply valve.
K. Open the valve on the tank. The tank should now be discharging water
through the open drinking water tap. This will ush away any carbon nes
from the new posilter cartridge. When the ow slows to a drip, close
the tap. Allow the system to ll the storage tank for several hours. Discard
the water in the tank aer this me. A four (4) tank ush is required per
installaon instrucons. Allow the system to ll the tank and begin enjoying
your clean, clear water.
