1. Installing Hardware
NOTE: Don’t try to open the lid of the MiniCDRW 2 until
drivers are fully installed into your computer. The lid
may be locked and CANNOT be opened at this stage.
?Attach power cable into the Power Socket at the back of your
MiniCDRW 2.
?Plug in AC/DC adapter into an electrical outlet.
?Verify the green “ON” LED is turnON.
?Connect USB cable to connector at the back of MiniCDRW 2 drive.
?Connect other end of your USB cable to a USB port of your computer.
Note Only High Speed USB2.0 port will allow you to use your
MiniCDRW 2 at maximum reading and writing speed.

2. Installing USB Driver
Driver installation is required when installing MiniCDRW 2 for the
first time
Windows 98 SE:
?Turn on your computer and wait until it has finished booting.
?Connect USB end of USB cable to a free USB port on your computer
Note –Do not use USB ports repeated on some peripherals (such as
keyboards).
MiniCDRW 2 would not be able to draw enough power from such
ports.
?A“New Hardware Found” window will guide you through installation
of driver. When prompted for driver disk, insert USB Install Disk in
floppy drive, or use ARCHOS CD disk to install drivers from your
internal CD drive.
Windows ME -Windows 2000 & Windows XP:
?Turn on your computer and wait until it has finished booting.
?Connect USB end of USB cable to a free USB port on your computer
Note –Do not use USB ports repeated on some peripherals (such as
keyboards) MiniCDRW 2 would not be able to draw enough power
from such ports.
?A“New Hardware Found” window will guide you through installation
of driver. Microsoft “USB Mass storage” drivers will be automatically
installed. No install disk is needed.

3. Opening the Lid of MiniCDRW 2 Drive
NOTE: The cover of MiniCDRW 2 drive DOES NOT eject or
open automatically like a tray CDROM .
?Press firmly on the silver
Lock/Unlock button.
?Wait until the CD disk stops
spinning.
?Cover will unlock.
?Grasp “TABS” on both sides of the
lid and gently lift up.
4. Closing the Lid of MiniCDRW 2 Drive
?With the lid open, insert the CD disk with printed label facing up.
?Push down gently on the cover. It will lock automatically.
?MiniCDRW 2 is now ready for use.
5.Installing NERO Burning ROM Software
NOTE: MiniCDRW2 drive will not operate if the cover is
NOT in the locked position after inserting a CDROM
media.
?Insert ARCHOS CDRW CD disk into the drive
?Close cover and wait for the CD disk to spin up.
?Select Install NERO V5.5 Burning ROM from main menu, and click
OK.
?Choose NERO. Installation will start automatically.
If you wish to use the CD-RW writer as a floppy drive, install InCD Packet
Writing by repeating the instructions above and choose InCD/Packet
Writing .

6. Using MiniCDRW2 with NERO
Please refer to user’s guide available on CD-ROM in the folder "NERO" and
select your language.
GENERAL NOTE CONCERNING THE READING AND BURNING
SPEED:
The maximum speed depends on the USB port (see the chart below), and
on the configuration of your computer.

Cet équipement a été testé et prouvé conforme aux exigences d’un appareil
numérique de classe B selon l’Article 15 du règlement FCC. Ces exigences sont

1. Installation du Matériel
REMARQUE: N’essayez pas d’ouvrir le capot du MiniCDRW 2
jusqu’à ce que les pilotes soient complètement
installés sur votre ordinateur. Le capot peut être
verrouillé et ne PEUT PAS être ouvert à ce
stade.
?Connectez le câble USB au connecteur se trouvant au dos du lecteur
MiniCDRW 2.
?Branchez l’autre extrémité de votre câble USB à un port USB sur votre
ordinateur.
REMARQUE : Seul un port High Speed USB 2.0 vous permettra
d’utiliser votre MiniCDRW 2 à une vitesse de
lecture/gravure maximum.
?Branchez le câble d’alimentation dans la fiche d’alimentation située à
l’arrière du MiniCDRW 2.
?Connectezl’adaptateur AC/DC au secteur.
?Vérifiez que le voyant vert “ON” est allumé.

2. Installation du pilote USB
L’installation du pilote est requise lors de la première installation
du MiniCDRW 2.
Windows 98 SE :
?Allumez votre ordinateur et patientez jusqu’à son initialisation.
?Connectez l’extrémité USB 2.0 du câble àun port USB libre sur votre
ordinateur.
?Une fenêtre “Nouveau Matériel Détecté” vous guidera tout au long
de l’installation du pilote. Dès que la disquette de pilote sera requise,
insérez la disquette USB install disk dans le lecteur de disquettes,
ou utilisez le CD ARCHOS pour installer les pilotes à partir de votre
lecteur de CD.
Windows ME -Windows 2000 & Windows XP :
?Allumez votre ordinateur et patientez jusqu’à son initialisation.
?Connectez l’extrémité USB 2.0 du câble à un portUSB libre sur votre
ordinateur.
?Une fenêtre “Nouveau Matériel Trouvé” vous guidera tout au long
de l’installation du pilote. Les pilotes Microsoft “USB Mass Storage”
seront installés automatiquement. Aucune disquette d’installation
n’est requise.

3. Ouverture du Capot du Lecteur MiniCDRW2
REMARQUE : Le capot du lecteur MiniCDRW 2 NE
S’EJECTE pas ou ne s’ouvre pas
automatiquement comme un CDROM tiroir .
?Appuyer fermement sur le
bouton argenté de
Verrouillage/Déverrouillage.
?Attendez jusqu’à ce que le CD
ait fini de tourner.
?Le capot va se déverrouiller.
?Saisissez les encoches se
trouvant sur les deux côtés du
capot et soulevez-le doucement.
4. Fermeture du Capot du Lecteur MiniCDRW 2
?Capot ouvert, insérez le CD face imprimée vers le haut.
?Abaissez délicatement le capot. Il se verouillera automatiquement.
?Le MiniCDRW 2 est désormais prêt pour l’utilisation.
5. Installation du logiciel NERO Burning ROM
REMARQUE : Le lecteur MiniCDRW 2 ne fonctionne pas lorsque
le capot N’est PAS en position fermée après
l’insertion d’un CDROM.
?Insérez le CD ARCHOS dans le lecteur.
?Abaissez le capot et attendez que le CD tourne.
?Sélectionnez Installer NERO V5.5 Burning ROM à partir du
menu principal, et cliquez OK.
?Choisissez NERO. L’installation commencera automatiquement.
Si vous souhaitez utiliser le graveur CD-RW comme lecteur de disquettes,
installez InCD Packet Writing répétez les instructions ci-dessus etchoisissez
InCD/Packet Writing .

6.Utilisation du MiniCDRW II avec Nero (PC)
Veuillez vous référer au guide utilisateur disponible sur CD-ROM dans le
dossier "NERO" et sélectionnez votre langue.
NOTE GENERALE CONCENANT LA VITESSE DE LECTURE ET
D’ENREGISTREMENT :
La vitesse maximum dépend du port USB (voir tableau ci-dessous), ainsi
que de la configuration de votre ordinateur.
