Introduction:

Driver Installation
Windows 98/98SE
Once the USB 2.0 Host Adaptor is installed and the computer is restarted, Windows will detect the board and attempt to install driver
for it.
1. Windows will detect a “NEC USB Open Host
Controller”. Click Next.

2. Select “Search for the best driver for your device.”
Click Next.
3. Uncheck all boxes and then click Next.
4. Windows has found an updated driver. Click Next.

5. Click Next.
6. Windows has finished the driver installation. Click
Finish.
7. Repeat the above process for the second NEC USB Open Host Controller.
8. After you have installed the two NEC USB Open Host
Controllers, Windows will find a “PCI Universal Serial
Bus” device. Click Next to continue.

9. Select “Search for the best driver for your device” and
click Next to continue.

nsert the driver diskette or Driver CD and then specify
the location “A:\WIN98ME” for example. Click Next to
continue.

Windows has found an updated driver for “NEC PCI to
USB Enhanced Host Controller”. Click Next to
continue.

12. Click Next to continue.
13. Windows has finished the driver installation. Click
Finish to complete the whole installation.
Windows ME , Windows 2000, Windows XP
Windows ME & Windows 2000 will follow similar installation procedures as of Windows 98SE.

Eteignez votre ordinateur, débranchez le et enlevez son couvercle
Insérez la carte ARCHOS dans un support PCI libre, vérifiez que la carte est correctement insérée.
Vissez la partie métallique de la carte à l’arrière de votre ordinateur.
Refermez le couvercle de votre PC, mettez sous tension votre ordinateur, et allumez le.
Lors de la première installation, ne connectez aucun périphérique USB à cette carte.
Une fois la carte installée et l’ordinateur redémarré, Windows détectera la carte et demandera le chargement des drivers.
Procédure d’installation sous Windows 98 SE
1°) Windows détecte la carte USB et affiche « détection de nouveau matériel » portant l’indication « PCI Universal Serial
Bus » , cliquez sur « suivant »
•Sélectionnez « Rechercher le meilleur pilote pour votre périphérique. (Recommandé) », cliquez « suivant »
•Désélectionnez les différents menus et cliquez sur « suivant »
•Windows a trouvé le matériel “Contrôleur NEC USB Open Host Controller”, cliquez sur « suivant », puis à nouveau sur
«suivant »
•Insérez le « CD d’installation de Windows 98SE» cliquez sur « OK », et attendez quelques secondes.
•Cliquez sur « Terminer »
2°) Recommencez la procédure ci-dessus pour l’installation du second contrôleur OHC (Open Host Controller) [voir 1°) ].
3°) Ensuite, Windows va installer le troisième et dernier pilote. Windows va détecter une nouvelle carte « PCI Universal Serial
Bus » , cliquez sur « suivant »
•Sélectionnez « Rechercher le meilleur pilote pour votre périphérique (Recommandé) », cliquez sur « suivant »
•Insérez la disquette des drivers ARCHOS , sélectionnez la case “lecteurs de disquettes ” puis cliquer sur “suivant”
•Sélectionnez « suivant » , puis « Terminer » et redémarrez Windows
Procédure d’installation sous Windows ME
-Windows va détecter la carte USB2.0 interne, attendez quelques secondes.
-Windows installe automatiquement les deux premiers pilotes OHC (Open Host Controller) puis vous demandera d’installer le
dernier. Une fenêtre apparaît.
-Sélectionnez «Rechercher automat .un meilleur pilote », et insérez la disquette de drivers ARCHOS, cliquez sur “suivant”, puis
«terminer » et redémarrez Windows
Procédure d’installation sous Windows 2000, Windows XP
-Windows va détecter la carte USB2.0 interne, le message suivant apparaît “Assistant Ajout de nouveau matériel détecté “,
cliquez sur “suivant”
-Sélectionnez «Rechercher un pilote approprié pour mon périphérique (recommandé) »,cliquez sur « suivant », et sélectionnez la
case « lecteurs de disquettes »
-Insérez la disquette de drivers ARCHOS, cliquez sur « suivant », puis « terminer», redémarrez ensuite Windows .

Schalten Sie Ihren Computer ab, ziehen Sie den Stecker und öffnen Sie das Gehäuse.
Legen Sie die ARCHOS-Karte in einen freien PCI-Port ein und stellen Sie sicher, daß die Karte korrekt installiert ist.
Schrauben Sie das Metallelement der Karte an der Rückseite Ihres Computers an.
Schließen Sie das Gehäuse Ihres PCs, stellen Sie die Stromverbindung wieder her und schalten Sie den Computer ein.
Schließen Sie bei der Erstinstallierung keine USB-Peripherie an die Karte an.
Nach Installieren der Karte und Anschalten des Computers erkennt Windows die Karte und fragt Sie nach dem Treiberwechsel.
Installierung mit Windows 98 SE
1) Windows erkennt die USB-Karte und zeigt «neue Hardware erkannt » sowie den Hinweis «PCI Universal Serial Bus » an.
Klicken Sie auf « weiter ».
 Wählen Sie « Suchen des besten Treibers für Ihre Peripherie. (Empfohlen) », klicken Sie auf « weiter ».
 Entfernen Sie die Auswahl der verschiedenen Menüs und klicken Sie auf « weiter ».
 Windows hat die Hardware “NEC USB Open Host Controller” gefunden. Klicken Sie auf « weiter », dann erneut auf « weiter ».
 Legen Sie die « Installierungs-CD für Windows 98SE» ein, klicken Sie auf « OK » und warten Sie einige Sekunden.
 Klicken Sie auf « beenden ».
2) Wiederholen Sie die oben ausgeführten Schritte zur Installation eines zweiten Open Host Controller [siehe 1) ].
3) Zum Schluß installiert Windows einen dritten und letzten Treiber. Windows erkennt eine neue Karte « PCI Universal Serial Bus ».
Klicken Sie auf « weiter »
 Wählen Sie « Suchen des besten Treibers für Ihre Peripherie (Empfohlen) », klicken Sie auf « weiter »
 Legen Sie die ARCHOS-Treiberdiskette ein, wählen Sie “lesen der Disketten ” und klicken Sie dann auf “weiter”
 Wählen Sie « weiter » , dann « beenden » und starten Sie Windows erneut.
Installierung mit Windows ME
-Windows erkennt die vorhandene USB2.0-Karte. Bitte warten Sie einige Sekunden.
-Die ersten beiden OHC-Treiber werden von Windows automatisch installiert. Dann werden Sie nach der Installierung des letzten
Treibers gefragt. Ein Fenster erscheint.
-Wählen Sie «Automatisch den geeignetsten Treiber suchen » und legen Sie die ARCHOS-Treiberdiskette ein. Klicken Sie auf «
weiter », dann auf « beenden » und starten Sie Windows erneut.
Installierung mit Windows 2000, Windows XP
-Windows erkennt die vorhandene USB2.0-KarteWindows, danach erscheint die Mitteilung “Zusätzlicher Assistent der neuen
Hardware “. Klicken Sie auf “weiter”.
-Wählen Sie «Suchen des geeigneten Treibers für meine Peripherie (empfohlen) », klicken Sie auf « weiter » und wählen Sie
«Diskettenlaufwerk ».
-Legen Sie die ARCHOS-Treiberdiskette ein, klicken Sie auf « weiter », dann auf « beenden » und starten Sie Windows erneut.

Apague y desconecte su ordenador antes de desarmar su caja.
Conecte su tarjeta Archos en una ranura PCI disponible y compruebe que la tarjeta resulte bien conectada.
Apriete la parte metálica de la tarjeta utilizando un destornillador.
Vuelva a poner la caja del ordenador, conecte los cables de alimentación y encienda el ordenador.
Por el momento, no conecte ninguna unidad a la tarjeta USB 2.0.
Una vez finalizada la instalación de la tarjeta y tras haber encendido el ordenador, Windows detectará la tarjeta y solicitará que se
carguen los conductores.
Instalación para Windows 98 SE
1°) Windows detecta la tarjeta USB y visualiza en la pantalla el siguiente mensaje: “ nuevo hardware detectado ” con la indicación
“PCI Universal Serial Bus ”; haga clic en “ continúa ”
 Seleccione “ busque el mejor controlador para su unidad (recomendado)”; haga clic en “ continúa ”
deseleccione los diferentes menús y haga clic en “ continúa ”
Windows ha encontrado la unidad “ Controlador NEC USB Open Host Controller ”, haga clic en “ continúa ”, y otra vez seleccione
“continúa ”,
Inserte el “ CD de instalación de Windows 98SE” haga clic en “ OK ”, y espere algunos segundos.
 Aparece la ventana “ Windows ha terminado la instalación del software necesario ”. Haga clic en “ termina”
2°) Repita las operaciones indicadas también para el segundo controlador OHC (Open Host Controller) [véase 1°) ].
3°) Windows empieza a instalar el tercero y último controlador. Windows detectará una nueva “ PCI Universal Serial Bus ”; haga
clic en “ continúe”
 Seleccione “ busque el mejor controlador para su unidad (recomendado) ”, haga clic en “ continúa ”
Inserte el disco del controlador ARCHOS, seleccione la opción “LECTURA DE DISCOS” y haga clic en “ continúa ”.
 seleccione “ continúa ” , “ termina ” y reinicie Windows.
Instalación para Windows ME
-Windows detecta la tarjeta USB, y espere algunos segundos.
-Windows instala automáticamente los primeros dos controladores OHC (Open Host Controller), solicitando que se instale el
controlador final. Una ventana aparece.
-Seleccione “ busque el mejor controlador para su unidad (recomendado)automáticamente ”, inserte el disco del controlador
ARCHOS, seleccione “ continúa ”, “ termina” y reinicie Windows.
Instalación para Windows 2000, Windows XP
-Windows detecta la tarjeta USB interna. En la pantalla aparece el siguiente mensaje: “ nuevo hardware detectado”; haga clic en
“continúa ”.
-Seleccione “ busque el mejor controlador para su unidad (recomendado)”, haga clic en “continúa”, y seleccione la opción
“LECTURA DE DISCOS”
-inserte el disco del controlador ARCHOS, seleccione “ continúa ”, “ termina” y reinicie Windows.

Spegnete il computer, scollegatelo e rimuovete il coperchio.
Inserite la scheda ARCHOS in un supporto libero PCI e verificate che la scheda sia inserita correttamente.
Avvitate la parte metallica della scheda nella parte posteriore del computer.
Chiudete il coperchio del PC, collegate il PC ed accendetelo.
Nell’effettuare la prima installazione, non collegate alcuna periferica USB a questa scheda.
Dopo avere installato la scheda e riavviato il computer, Windows troverà la scheda e richiederà di installare i driver.
Procedura d'installazione con Windows 98 SE
1°) Windows trova la scheda USB e visualizza « trovato nuovo hardware » con l’indicazione «PCI Universal Serial Bus»;
cliccate su «successivo»
Selezionate «Cerca il driver migliore per la periferica. (Scelta consigliata) », cliccate su «successivo»
 Deselezionate tutti i menù e cliccate su «successivo»
 Windows ha trovato l’hardware “NEC USB Open Host Controller”; cliccate su «successivo» e poi nuovamente su «successivo»
 Inserite il «CD d’installazione di Windows 98 SE», cliccate su «OK» e aspettate qualche istante.
 Cliccate su «Termina»
2°) Iniziate nuovamente la procedura sopra indicata per l’installazione del secondo OHC (Open Host Controller) [Cfr. 1].
3°) Windows installerà quindi il terzo ed ultimo driver. Windows troverà una nuova scheda « PCI Universal Serial Bus»; cliccate su
«successivo»
 Selezionate «Cerca il driver migliore per la periferica (Scelta consigliata) », cliccate su «successivo»
Inserite il dischetto dei driver ARCHOS, selezionate la casella “lettori dischetti ” e quindi cliccate su “successivo”
 Selezionate «successivo», «Termina» e riavviate Windows
Procedura d’installazione con Windows ME
-Windows troverà la scheda interna USB 2.0; aspettate qualche istante.
-Windows installa automaticamente i due primi driver OHC (Open Host Controller) e, successivamente, chiederà d’installare
l’ultimo driver. Una finestra si apre.
-Selezionate «Cerca automaticamente il driver migliore »; inserite il dischetto dei driver ARCHOS, cliccate su “successivo”,
«termina» e riavviate Windows
Procedura d’installazione con Windows 2000, Windows XP
-Windows troverà la scheda interna USB 2.0 e visualizza il messaggio “Assistente Aggiungi nuovo hardware trovato“; cliccate su
“successivo”
-Selezionate «Cerca il driver appropriato per la periferica (Scelta consigliata) », cliccate su «successivo» e selezionate la casella
«lettori dischetti»
-Inserite il dischetto dei driver ARCHOS, fate clic su «successivo», «termina» e riavviate quindi Windows.
