ARMA EC131 Ornamental Wood Panel Assembly And Installation
Please refer the following details to Steps 1) through 7) above.
There are four (4) Ornamental Wood Receiver Channels for each EC131 Gate Panel.
1) Position Spacers
a) Open the boxes and unwrap and set the components aside ensuring they are not
dinged or damaged in the process. Make sure the bag of screws is not
discarded with the wrapping.
b) Orient your workspace so you are on the Bearing Truck / Post side of the EC131
Gate. You should see the 8 tapped holes on each of the Top and Bottom Gate
Panel rails.
c) Position four (4) Spacers so that they align with the four tapped holes in the
EC131 Bottom Rail section you are working on.
2) Install Lower Wood Receiver Channel
a) Carefully position one Wood Receiver Channel on top of the Spacers so that the
channel opening is facing up and the mount holes align with the four Spacer
holes and four EC131 Bottom Rail tapped holes.
b) Ensure that the side of your Wood Receiver Channel with the countersunk holes
for the wood screws is against the EC131 Gate panel (facing away from you).
c) Using the Hex Key, loosely thread four 3/4” Button Head Screws through the
Wood Receiver Channel and Spacers and into the Gate Panel Bottom Rail.
d) Do not tighten these now. Leave all 4 Button Head Screws loose by at least one
full turn until all Wood Receiver Channels have been installed.
3) Install Upper Wood Receiver Channel
a) Carefully position one Wood Receiver Channel against the EC131 Top Rail so
that the channel opening is facing down, and the mount holes align with the four
EC131 Top Rail tapped holes.
b) Ensure that the side of your Wood Receiver Channel with the countersunk holes
for the wood screws is against the EC131 Gate panel (facing away from you).

c) Using the Hex Key, loosely thread four 3/4” Button Head Screws through the

d) Do not tighten these now. Leave all 4 Button Head Screws loose by at least one

4) Repeat Steps 1) to 3) for each Gate Panel Section
a) Install all the remaining Wood Receiver Channels following the procedure
outlined above.
5) Tighten Button Head Screws
a) After all Wood Receiver Channels have been loosely installed proceed to
tightening all the Button Head Screws.
b) Tighten these until snug. Do not over tighten!
6) Install Wood Pickets
a) Starting at one end of your EC131 Gate, slide your Wood Pickets into the Upper
and Lower Wood Receiver Channels.
b) Ensure that each of your Wood Pickets is square to the Gate and spaced as
desired before installing the Wood Screws (see Step 7).
c) Divide any clearance evenly between your Wood Picket and the Upper and
Lower Wood Receiver Channels.
7) Fasten the Pickets
a) Using a Cordless Drill (or screwdriver) and 3/4” long #8 Wood Screws, fasten
your Wood Pickets to the Wood Receiver Channels by screwing through the
countersunk side of the Channels and into the Wood Picket.
b) Fasten each Picket to the Upper and Lower Channels before moving on to the
next Picket.
c) Feel free to use as many of the countersunk holes as is convenient to secure
your Pickets. Depending on your chosen Picket spacing and Picket width you
may or may not use all the holes.
d) Tighten these until your Wood Picket is pulled snugly against the Wood Receiver
Channel. Do not overtighten!
e) Repeat Steps 6) and 7) until all your Wood Pickets are firmly fastened.
